Tucked away off the main street, Marmita produces excellent contemporary Greek food in a pretty courtyard setting. You will be expertly looked after by Panos who is a brilliant multi-lingual host. Try the Kritima salad - if you like it, when you get back Lynnette can tell you where you can pick it yourself. Word has spread quickly about Marmita so you will probably need to book in advance.

Very conveniently situated near Villa Asteri, Infinity Blue is a great restaurant for a special night out (but there's nothing to stop you going every night!). Make sure you mention that you are staying at Villa Asteri and Konstantinos and Giorgos will look after you very well. They are also happy to send their waiters to deliver food to you at the villa if you would prefer to eat at home.

Set back from the beach, this fantastic traditional greek taverna is very reasonably priced. You will be well looked after by the friendly owners. Children will love the swings and various rabbits, ducks and goats usually found wandering around the taverna.

Sightseeing
Kastro is sat on a high cliff which protrudes out over the sea and is a natural fortress - it's located at the high northern part of Skiathos. It was originally settled during the 14th Century because of the threat from pirates on the lower coastal part of the island. The town also protected itself by the use of a drawbridge the remains of which can still be seen. Eventually Kastro was abandoned around 1830. There are still many ruins scattered around the hillside showing that the population at one time must have been quite large. There were also a lot of churches in Kastro and several of these have now been restored.
