Take a three-mile walk around this beautiful pond, one of the cleanest and clearest in Maine (sorry you cannot swim in it as it is a water source for islanders). There are some other trails that shoot off the pond trail if you'd like a more challenging hike. The restaurant is closed this summer due to the virus but the gift shop is open.

Take a three-mile walk around this beautiful pond, one of the cleanest and clearest in Maine (sorry you cannot swim in it as it is a water source for islanders). There are some other trails that shoot off the pond trail if you'd like a more challenging hike. The restaurant is closed this summer due to the virus but the gift shop is open.
If you've never seen a whale, this is a must. If you're here in July and August, odds are high you will see one on this boat.

A great place for families to take their kids swimming. It is shallow for quite a ways so safe for smaller children. There are also some good trails in this area, think about going for a hike and a swim afterwards.

Yes, you can drive up here. But it is best to earn the view! Grab an Acadia National Park hiking guide at Sherman's bookstore and decide which route up Cadillac is best for you. I love the South Ridge Trail. Dorr Mountain is also a great hike.

A great short but steep hike with fabulous views. This trail has ladder rungs set in cliffs so it isn't for the faint of heart. Fine for strong kids about 8 years old and older. You come down a more gradual way and can visit Sand Beach afterwards.
