Aquariaz has been designed as an aquatic paradise in the mountains featuring lush vegetation and rocks: a lazy river, a slidewinder (a kind of aquatic halfpipe), a paddling pool, a large pool with climbing walls and to top it off an open-air spa heated to 30°C! Swim shorts are allowed here! Adults €12 and children €9. Access by driving up to Avoriaz or via the Prodains cable car. There is a car park at the Prodains cable car or you can get the free A bus from Morzine.

To get here from Morzine - from the church by the river take the D228 / Route des Bois Venants towards Montriond, follow this for approx. 2km. Once in Montriond take the right fork which is signposted for Le Lac, the Lac is approx 3km from here. You can also get the M bus from Morzine which runs once an hour or alternatively it is approx. a 1-hour pleasant walk up the river path.

Perched at 1,390 meters above sea level, the lake takes its name from old mining research undertaken in the second half of the 19th century by pioneers. In a beautiful setting with a mountain restaurant close by. There is a nature walk around the lac and many walks also start from Le Lac including the tour Des Dents Blanches and access to the GR5 (Europe’s long-distance hiking trail). Well worth a visit if you have a car with you for your holiday. Visit the 30 waterfalls of the Cirque du Fer à Cheval. A unique area with impressive rock faces, cliffs 2000 metres high, and hiking trails past numerous waterfalls. Parking for the day is €4, take a picnic or enjoy one of the restaurants/ refuges in the area.
