Tobey's is like a convenience store on steroids. Their lunch counter serves a wide range of sandwiches, burgers, etc and their pizza is delicious!! Tobey's is only 5 miles from camp and well worth the stop.

Our goals are simple: give people the best beer we know how to make and a nice spot in the country to drink it. We hope that your visit to our family brewery will be a whole experience. From a quick tour of the facility, to our outside picnic area, or a warm spot in the loft as winter roars, our brewery has a place for you to enjoy a pint during all of Maine’s seasons.

The Hannaford brothers began selling produce in Portland, Maine, in 1883, but it took a lot more than fresh tomatoes and apples to grow their business. The brothers looked at their customers and understood what they cared about most – family, community, quality, value – and built the business accordingly, with core values that still show us the way. Today, we live those values in more than 180 stores and with 26,000 associates, our roots still firmly planted in the Northeast.

We believe the more time you spend outside together, the better. That’s why we design products that make it easier to take longer walks, have deeper talks and never worry about the weather. It’s like our founder always said – being outside brings out the best in us.

When visiting the promontory where the lighthouse is located you will notice the waves crashing over an unusual rock formation. They appear to be petrified wood, but is actually quartzite and dark grey phyllite accumulating in alternating layers. As you look out over Portland Harbor and Casco Bay you will have the opportunity to view an additional four lighthouse towers. To your left (North) is Spring Point Ledge Light – built in 1897 – a caisson style light station at the end of a rock breakwater. Directly in front of you is Ram Island Ledge light – constructed in 1905 – the beacon is now solar powered. During storms the waves have been seen to crash over the top of the lantern room. Beyond Ram Island, about 10 miles out and only visible on a clear day, is Halfway Rock light station first lit in 1871. The name comes from its’ position half way between Cape Elizabeth and Cape Small. Now look to your right (South) and you will be able to view Cape Elizabeth light. One of two towers originally built, the remaining operating tower was first lit in 1874.

Kennebec Cabin Company has opened its headquarters in downtown Manchester, just west of Maine’s capital city and in the heart of the Cabin Masters’ hometowns and home turf. Chase and the team bought the building from the Daggett family, who fans will remember as the subject of the the first-ever episode. The homestead was originally built in the 1850s on the site of an old tavern (which gave Ryan an idea for the future, but that’s another story), and you can still see the old hitching post out front. The Daggett family lived there for 60 years (locals will fondly remember their general store across the street), before the sale and renovation for a new life as a welcoming destination in Central Maine. Stop by the retail store, this summer, Wednesday through Saturday from 10-5 and Sundays from 12-4! Our address is 915 Western Ave., Manchester.
