The Archaeological Museum of Lefkada is housed in the newly-constructed building of the Cultural Centre in Lefkada Town. Its four rooms cover a large chronological period, from the Paleolithic times till the late Roman years.

According to tradition, the church was built in the 15th century by Helen Palaiologina who built this church in honor of Agia Mavra who protected her once from the storm. She came to the island for the wedding of her daughter to the Count of Lefkada.

LEFKADA OLD TOWN.
Behind the main shopping and pedestrianised street of Lefkada you can discover the charming old town of Lefkada. The houses are not so old, but many of them was built in traditional venetian styles, decorated with fragrant flowers and other plants. Especially the narrow alleys of the old town are charming, so if you come here, walk around and discover these hidden treasures. The main square of the town is also here, where numerous cafes and bars are waiting for the guests. In these places you can drink or eat something delicious, or just take a seat and enjoy the atmosphere of the town. If you walk around, will see tiny chapels and churches in the town – the oldest one is called Pantokratoras, which is built by the Venetians in the 17th century.
