If you are lucky with the weather Yelapa is a great spot for snorkeling. Also it has fantastic waterfalls and horse riding.

Punta de Mita is in Nayarit State. You can either take public transportation (bus) or Uber/taxi. PDM (Nayarit beaches) has a better beaches then PV thats for sure.
PS. Punta de Mita has a beautiful Four Seasons hotel, perfect to get a drink there while enjoying the sunset.

Bucerias is the nearest Nayarit town to PV (25 mins ride) Public transportation would take you there. I personally like Bucerias, is a picturesque and nice beach town with a nice beach.
