Our nearest proper beach is 20 minutes over the Orwell Bridge. Felixstowe has lots to offer. The north end has the lovely Felixstowe ferry with fresh fish shacks. Great place to swim just south of the golf course near Clifflands car park. The town beach has great pubs and restaurants, I recommend The Alex and The Fludyers. The south corner has Languard Fort and a cafe with a view back to the Shotley Peninsula and the enormous container ships.
