Food Scene

Easy walk into the village, with a friendly bar, lovely conservatory and cosy fires in the winter. The food is delicious and one of my firm favourites is the seafood pizza with added jalapeños:) Food is also available to pre-order and take away. A fair variety of drinks including good wines and gins. Dogs are welcome!

This is the closest bar/restaurant/Hotel. Dogs are welcome in the bar section which is not carpeted. We have eaten in the restaurant a couple of times and the food is delicious!

An old smugglers' Inn, quaint bar, snug, conservatory and garden. There is a children's play area out back. Thornham is approx 3 miles along the coast, so a quick car drive, or even cycle ride. It is also a pleasant walk along the dunes, beach sea wall, being just over an hour 1 way, There is a choice of various venues to have refreshments before walking the return journey - or catch a Coast Hopper bus.

A firm favourite since I was a child. I have always loved running up and down steps and this old castle has never disappointed me. It is a ruin but still immensely interesting. And located in a pretty village with outstanding tearooms and pub nearby!

Pretty quayside town with some fabulous shops. Plenty of pubs, fish & chips shops, cafes etc. A wonderful leg-stretching walk along the quayside to the pine woods and sandy beach.

Cycling

Cycling round Norfolk is a very common hobby. It is relaxing and exhilarating, depending on your level of exercise. if you don't have a bike and should like to venture out, then there are numerous places that rent bikes, obviously they get busy during peak season summer holidays etc. You could look at any of these companies, or go on a search engine to find out other areas which rent bikes out. There are too many to list, and further afield. Open Sky Cycles, now located at Drove Orchards, Thornham, on the A149, or Ae Wallis in Heacham. wheel-travel website also deliver and collect bikes.
With its famous two-tone cliffs, this Victorian town has numerous shops, pubs and family entertainment. There is the bowling arcade, funfair, various amusement arcades, and in the summer months there are water sports like sea-kayaking and paddle boarding, or take a trip out into the Wash on one of the Washmonsters!
