It's not just the City of Meereen (although it's the reason it's very popular right now :))
Fortress of Klis is really worth seeing when visiting Klis. It's the second largest fortress in Croatia and her historical heritage is immense. Through centuries it defended our nations independence.
Of course,being born and raised at the foot of her great walls I'm deeply emotionally connected to it and it's forever my favorite place :)

Salona was the capital city of the Roman province in the antique times
A place full of history, ideal for a half day outing, with so much too see and beautiful meadows great for a picnic.
Just 10 min drive from our #apartmentAnamaria.

1700 years old, under the Unesco protection, Split is most definitely a place to visit when you are in Croatia!
I will just say one more thing - the roman emperor Diocletian didn't choose this part of the Earth to make his holiday home for nothing ;)
We locals call it the most beautiful city in the world!!
When you visit it you will think the same for sure! ;)

Split
1700 years old, under the Unesco protection, Split is most definitely a place to visit when you are in Croatia!

His historic centre is included in Unesco list of world heritages.
It's a beautiful city that will charm you with it's narrow stone streets, beautiful squares and lots of cozy restaurants and coffe shops.

Trogir
Trogir is a historic town and harbour on the Adriatic coast.Beautiful little gem,half an hour drive from our apartment.
His historic centre is included in Unesco list of world heritages.
It's a beautiful city that will charm you with it's narrow stone streets, beautiful squares and lots of cozy restaurants and coffe shops.
If you are into hiking and nature this is a place to see.
Blue lake is located near city of Imotski, an 1 hour drive from our apartment.
Like the nearby Red Lake, it lies in a deep sinkhole possibly formed by the collapse of an enormous cave.
Fun fact is that in the extremly hot summer times the lake dries up and the locals have football matches on the bottom of the lake :)

Lago Azul
44 D60If you are into hiking and nature this is a place to see.
Blue lake is located near city of Imotski, an 1 hour drive from our apartment.
Like the nearby Red Lake, it lies in a deep sinkhole possibly formed by the collapse of an enormous cave.
Fun fact is that in the extremly hot summer times the lake dries up and the locals have football matches on the bottom of the lake :)

Due to its significant value, it was placed under protection as a geomorphological natural monument back in 1963. The cave can be reached via an asphalt road that passes through the town of Dugopolje and ends in the villages of Kotlenica and Punde (25 km); after that, a 300 m gravel path leads directly to the cave entrance.
It's open for visitors and safe to visit with children.
It's a beautiful gift of nature and highly reccomended to visit whe you are in the area.

Omiš is a beautiful small city on the mouth od the river Cetina into the Adriatic Sea.
If you want to go rafting or simply enjoy relaxing on some of the lovely beaches Omiš is the plave for you.
I would recommend beaches in Brzet,sea is crystal clear and restaurant Zvizdan is a very nice place to have a meal when you are in the area.
