For over 30 years, Mountview has been an itinerant company, touring its productions to theatres across London at high cost. The new theatre has changed that – for the first time we have full technical capability and a main house auditorium to call our own. The space, along with the Backstage Theatre, our 80-seat studio space, is fully accessible and will present over 28 productions annually as well as hosting work from visiting companies.

It is a striking building best imagined as an inverted capital letter 'L', with the upper part supported by thin steel pillars set at apparently random angles. The exterior is clad with pre-patinated copper.
