Marbella East has a lot of fantastic restaurant options. The are the beach restaurants "chiringuitos" and many others in areas such as Elviria and Cabopino Port.
Marbella has so many alternatives for good restaurants, but in my guidebook I will focus on those that are nearby.
Simbad Beach Restaurant is one of the favourites of all guests. It is located right on the beach with spectacular views, elegant decor, good service and good value for money. The best food is of course fish and many typical local dishes.

This is a small tapas bar inside the Resort La Reserva de Marbella. For the guests staying in my property here this is a good choice if you want to grab a quick bite and meet other people from the resort.

Los Javieres in the Port of Cabopino is a family run business. The mother is the cook, father and sons are the waiters. The food is amazing and they are super friendly. Make sure you tell them Oliver sent you.

Da Bruno is a chain of Italian restaurants on the Costa del Sol. The food is fantastic, atmosphere is family friendly and service is top. The one in Cabopino is the nearest, but you can go to any of their restaurants and expect the same service.

Da Bruno is a chain of Italian restaurants on the Costa del Sol. The food is fantastic, atmosphere is family friendly and service is top. The one in Cabopino is the nearest, but you can go to any of their restaurants and expect the same service.
Alberts Bar in Cabopino Port is a good place for having breakfast while watching the boats and people walking by. It is not as fancy and busy as Puerto Banus, but it has a unique cosy atmosphere.

El Mangaleta is located on the beach. This is a more secluded beach in front of a luxurious residential neighbourhood. You can rent beach beds and have lunch at this restaurant. They have a display of fresh fish and they make a mean Sangria. For guests staying in my Gran Bahia apartment this is a 2 minute walk.

Trocadero is probably one of the most iconic restaurants in Marbella East. It is located right on the beach and has a colonial style design. Their food selection is amazing and the setting very special. It is a little on the pricy side, but a great choice for a special lunch or dinner.

Nikki Beach is famous for their extravagant parties. From May to October this place has all sorts of themed parties for an ultimate clubbing experience. They serve food and drinks for lunch time until late in the evening.

In fact it is located on the fairly new wooden beach walk that extends over 5 kilometers between Cabopino Port and La Cala de Mijas. The restaurant will have all the typical Spanish dishes with a spectacular view. This apartment is literal 1 minute walk from our Mi Capricho apartment.

For the apartments La Reserva de Marbella, El Toro Elite and Dunes beach this is the closest convenience store. They are open until 2am in the morning every day.

For a large Shopping Mall your best option is La Cañana. You will find a large Alcampo grocery store as well as many clothing, electronics, toys and other stores here. On a less sunny day this is a good option to spend your day browsing the stores.

Best ways to get around without a car
Generally I always advise guests to rent a car because Marbella and surounding cities are best discovered by car. However, if you do not have a car it is best to use Uber. It can be tricky to give addresses to taxi driver, so Uber has the advantage of locating you where you are. It is also cheaper. Just in case the taxi number is +34952774488.
There are also a number of bus lines connecting the costal "Urbanizations". There are lines from Marbella to Fuengirola or Marbella to Cabopino that go from our apartments in Marbella East to town.

Visiting the Old Town of Marbella is a must
Marbella East is best known for its great beaches, beach restaurants and family friendly activities. However, you have to visit the Old Town of Marbella and the Orange Square to really get to know Marbella.
Also you may want to take a walk on the boardwalk near the Puerto Deportivo to see some fun activities.
On Monday´s Marbella has a open air market that is also worth visiting.
Costumes e cultura
Learn a few phrases in Spanish
No doubt one of the main reasons why people love Marbella is because of the friendly people. Most people will speak English or another foreign language, but trust me if you learn just a few words and phrases in Spanish it will go a long way.
So say "buenos días", order a "cerveza" and use your "gracias" when you are out and about.

You can find an open air market in different parts of Marbella every day. Monday´s it is in Marbella and Saturdays in Puerto Banus for example. HOWEVER, if you want to save you want to go to the San Pedro Market on Thursdays. The same products are a fraction of the price.

Don´t leave your belongings in the car
Marbella is very safe and there is no need to worry, but sadly I have heard stories how laptops and bags having been stolen from cars. Do not leave valuables in the car while you are in a restaurant, on the beach or in the grocery store. Or at least do not leave them visible.

The Alhambra in Granada is no doubt one of the most amazing tour you can do. Make sure you book in advance because they do not sell tickets there. It is all very simple to book over their official website.

Caminto del Rey
El Caminito del Rey is a unique walking path inside a gorge just north of Malaga. It is spectacular and will take you around 2 hours to complete. You have to book a time in advance. You will get a specific time for your start time. They allow only small groups to go at a time. Count with about 30 minutes extra to get from the parking to the actual start location. If you are a little late don´t worry, you can use your ticket even if you arrive later. Go to the official website to make a reservation.

Travel light
Most of the time the weather is warm and you don´t need anything except some shorts and a T-shirt. However, in winter it may be warm during the day and on the sun, but it can get cooler in the shade or after sunset. I suggest to have a sweater handy.
No need to bring beach towels! You will find these in the apartment.

Costa del Sol has countless activities for kids
I am leaving some leaflets in the apartment with activities for kids. Just to name a few there are is Selwo Park, Selwo Marina Aquarium, Tivoli World, Mijas Aquapark, Elviria Adventure Park, Funny Hills, Costa Jump and many more. Ask me and I am happy to give you some pointers.

Gibraltar is a popular tourism destination. People tend to forget that you need your travel documents to cross over.
A friendly advice is that you park your car on the Spanish side and walk across. It will save you some time coming back.
