Nice place if, like me, you are not fussy. Location is fair with some lovely Muslim retaurants literally one to two minutes' walk right, left and across from the road. A little noisy because door frames do not fit the skirtings too well so sounds seep out into the corridor at night. I can recommend this hotel for non-fussy travellers but DO book with the hotel directly. The airbnb host on here is an agent / go-between. You pay her in full before-hand but you'll be bugged by the hotel to pay every day as the agent seems to wait for the best price (?) on the day before she pays YOUR money across to the hotel. (Your door key is only activated for that day once the hotel has received her payment). Another problem for non-Chinese speakers. The email you receive from the "host" does NOT reveal the address of the hotel. Once you arrive at the airport (20 odd kms out of town) no taxi driver will know where to take you. You will have to phone the number on the airbnb email. The person who answers will be someone who speaks no English. (Luckily I do speak enough Mandarin to have had me put in touch with the agent and hence find my way). As such, it is essential that you make sure you get the street address of the hotel, written in both Chinese and Tibetan BEFORE you depart for Yushu. Overall, if you speak no Chinese, do not use this agent. Book with the hotel directly.
