Things to do

“AKA Cathedral Cove. It is just such a beautiful place! Depending on your taste, in high summer the number of people can be overwhelming! My suggestion is that you get up early to beat the buses which start at about 9am. Sunrise is even better, and the swimming is great, even when you think that it's too cold, give it a go and the water clarity can be magic! The track is a highway from start to finish but you will need to be able to walk for 40 mins each way comfortably. If you balk at that, take the water taxi!”

“Best hotel meals around with an extensive menu of tasty foods produced from the adjoining kitchen of the PepperTree Restaurant. Just sitting in this 1896 building takes you back in time ... Coromandel’s icon and it’s right next door on your left from your front door . ”

“You could spend half your day here .. One mans idea to build everything using water. Eccentric and entrepreneurial. This place has Awards to its name, is based on the 309 Road and only 10 mins drive away from your cottage. . Oh I nearly forgot to add the friendly Wild Pigs that roam the 309 road. They are all owned by Stu . He feeds and loves his pigs dearly with each one having a name. If you like, just stop and Stu will be there unless he’s gone shopping for more food! He appreciates coin donations to help keep them healthy. Definitely a local icon ..”
