Shopping
“Strict hours 8am to 8pm. It's the country. (Outside these it's the roadhouse - - which is actually pretty reasonable stocked - its hours are 6am - 10pm)”

Natural Feature
“Griffiths Island, with its colony of shearwater seabirds, winding pathways and the spectacular lighthouse at the eastern tip, is a great place to explore. A short walk along the causeway from Martin's Point gets you onto the island. Dogs are not allowed on the island and visitors are urged to stick to the walking tracks, which wind through the low lying scrub. Nesting birds, including the shearwater's that migrate from the northern hemisphere each year, create burrows for their young hidden in the sand and it's important these nests aren't disturbed by wandering sightseers.”

“The Merrijig Kitchen is open for dinner from 6pm Thursday to Monday nights. They offer a daily written menu highlighting our local & regional artisan producers & farmers. The menu evolves throughout the season, inspired by 'what's good' on the day. They love it when our local producers pop into the kitchen with some goodies & show off their wares - this really is Tanya's inspiration! Their wine list is carefully crafted focusing on passionate producers, using sustainable practices, to produce wine which tells its own story. ”

“Ignore the pics of a city...Our Aunty Jean worked in this classic and qualint pub locally known as 'The Stump' for EVER!! So we still love it and take the dogs, and sit out the front with a drink and a fairly traditional pub meal. So we love it, and recommend a visit. Sometimes open on Christmas Day (Port Fairy pubs rotate this service annually).”

“This is our favourite walk, and we never tire of it! Beautiful beaches, stone paths, wide-open plains, this easy walk has it all. During summer you can take a twilight walk and see the Shearwaters by the thousand make their way home to feed their babies. The owner of Old Market Inn is also a photographer and can take photos you'll have forever as part of your memories at Port Fairy.”
