Local Histórico
“Calvin Coolidge became the 30th president when he took oath of office in the sitting room of this modest frame and clapboard farmhouse. It appears today exactly as it did on the night of inauguration in 1923. The historic district contains a number of buildings associated with Coolidge and the 19th-century rural Vermont setting that he knew and loved. Visitors may tour the General Store, the Post Office, the Wilder Restaurant (serving lunch), the church, several barns displaying farming tools of the era, the dance hall that served as the summer white house office. Tour of Plymouth Cheese Factory. Open daily from late May until mid October, from 9:30 – 5:00. ”

Guided tours run by a very competent operation with very courteous guides and top condition equipment. Loaner gear is provided, but be sure to wear thermal underwear (ski pants also work well to block wind) and warm gloves. Grips are heated for the driver, but passengers may not be!”
