Place to shop
““The Strand” has been declared a national historic landmark for its unparalleled collection of Victorian architecture. There are also many fun places to shop. Because I’m obsessed with food, my favorite places are usually to do with eating. There is a candy store called La King’s Confectionery; they make their own salt water taffy here and frequently do “taffy pulls” and throw yummy flavored taffy out to all the guests to try for free. The Beef Jerky Outlet also is amazing. Here you can sample tons of flavors and cuts of jerky (buy if you love it)! I would also recommend eating at the shark shack if you’re hungry! It’s nicely priced and pretty good! They have great frozen margaritas too!”

“Undoubtedly the most well-known Seafood Restaurant on the island, and with good reason. Excellent food, excellent service. Fancy date nights, for sure. PRO-TIP, the adjoining restaurant (Nick's...."Nick GAIDO") is owned by the same family, uses the same kitchen, has practically the same menu...but is over half the price. Pick what type of experience you want. Fancy dress and stellar table service, Gaidos. Flip Flops and shorts, Nick’s.”

“Beautiful restaurant on the Seawall with outstanding food and great ocean view! Huge menu offering almost anything you can think of, but our personal favorites include their incredible shrimp salad, chicken fried steak breakfast and shrimp quesadillas. Friendly service and a cozy, remodeled interior that is very pleasing to the eyes. During peak season, be prepared for a long wait (1 hour +) for a table, since locals and tourists alike just can't get enough of this place. We highly suggest after getting your buzzer, head across the street, and enjoy your time on the beach while waiting for your table. Parking can be somewhat of an issue, so prepare to be patient and willing to walk a little ways once parked.”
