“Ask pretty much anyone what they recommend you do in Budapest and they’ll likely suggest a night out at Szimpla Kert. The iconic party place is undoubtedly the city’s most famous nightspot, and has inspired wave after wave of “ruin pubs” that have popped up in the years since it opened. We sat down with one of the owners, Ábel Zsendovits, to talk about the role Szimpla has played in Budapest becoming one of Europe’s top tourist destinations, particularly among young people. While you might think he’s too busy running his Szimpla empire to have a lemonade with us, he was generous with his time. Location: H-1075 Budapest, Kazinczy u. 14 ”

“The A38 ship is a local favorite and a concert venue attracting high-profile bands and DJs. From jazz to pop to rock, A38 displays a wide range of genres when it comes to music. They offer the best parties which all take place on a ship giving some of the best views of the Danube. A38 is located on the Buda side of the city and features live music on the deck. The basement floor is a great place for dinner but keep in mind, like most restaurants in Budapest, they don’t offer many vegetarian options.”

“One of the unavoidable parties of the Pest night, the "Fogasház". The good news is that you are within walking distance of "the Prety good flat in downtown", it's only 650 meters, 8 minutes walk. The Pretty good flat of the Keleti station is also close to the Tooth House: 1 stop from Keleti Railway Station to metro line 2 and Blaha Lujza Square, 650 meters, 8 minutes walk. It is mainly a place for foreigners to entertain, and is actually a huge ruin pub with more rooms and musical tastes, open until 6 am. The place has an incredible atmosphere, I highly recommend it.”

“Mika Tivadar Bar was named after Tivadar Mika, one-time iron and copperware factory owner. Mika’s former factory in Kazinczy utca is now home to one of the best new-wave clubs in the city, where the people of the nearby 400 are also returning guests due to the fact that the two clubs have similar air, design, and audience. The excellent wines, the superb music and the all-new interior are all hard to resist. From spring to autumn, the garden of Mika Tivadar also awaits you with delicious dishes, drinks, light paintings and cool music.”
