This was the best family vacation we've ever taken and this cabin was the icing on the cake. Modern and clean, plenty big for our family of 5 and our brother enjoyed having his own space in the pavilion. Everything we needed was there. Kitchen is fully stocked and has a pretty amazing selection of spices. The washer and dryer were nice to have and the furniture/ beds were comfy and cozy. Air conditioning was an added bonus as every day we were there was close to 100 degrees so having the cool cabin to take refuge in was so appreciated. Amanda was easy to communicate with and by our 3rd night, our families became friends. Can't wait to get back to Noxon but when we do, it'll probably be to stay :)

The reviews on this cabin are somewhat conflicting, with some calling it a secluded, relaxing cabin in the woods, and others describing it as being situated in the center lane of a freeway. Basically, they're both right.. Kind of. This IS a cabin in the woods in the sense that the Noxon/Troy area is extraordinarily serene and remote in general. Driving to the market here includes wild-life sightings 8 times out of 10. The Cabin, is year-round accessible, VERY CLEAN/modern, has a well equipped kitchen, it's nicely furnished and if you run into unexpected cabin troubles Amanda (neighbor/manager) is awesome! BUT... Highway 200, which is the only means of getting anywhere in the entire Clark-Fork Valley, is 50 yards off the front-porch. During peak months you should expect pretty much constant traffic on that road. My wife and I stayed here in late-winter/early-spring, and sitting out on a week night to watch the stars we counted 38 cars, 7 semi-trucks and 4 Trains (there's also a railroad easement several hundred yards behind the property). If you're from MT/ID/WY you know the deal, and you're probably used to this. Every big river in every big river valley comes with a highway and train-tracks. Second the neighbors are close. I could throw a tennis ball from off the front-porch and hit Amanda's house. The neighbor to the south is about 150 yards, but still visible. So this isn't a cabin in the woods in the sense that you aren't going to walk off the property into the cabinet mountains. Nor are you going to be the only human for 20 square miles. If you came to fish, you're going to have to dash across a 2-lane, 70mph road, jump the guardrail and fish on the far-side shoulder, which is plenty wide (I'd wager most fishermen are willing to put up with a lot more for private access to the Clark-Fork) or drive out to a fishing access point. Nature is still winning here, so every vacation rental in this area is going to come with some set of trade-offs.

Thought the place was great, hosts were really accommodating and it was a family friendly atmosphere. The cabin is loaded with plenty of things that many places don't offer!

The Gorge View Cabin was cozy, secluded, nice and clean. A word of caution if visiting in the winter when it is snowing - you will need snow tires, chains, or perhaps a 4 wheel drive to make it up the fairly steep and curved driveway. We ended up having to pack our stuff up the driveway to the house (lucky we brought sleds!). The neighbor whom I assume was responsibly for maintaining the property came over with a snowblower after we arrived, but I had to shovel after some heavy snowfall to get out upon departure. Overall it's a cozy little spot in a quiet, beautiful area. I'm sure it's great in the summertime!

Howdy - I live in southern Texas with my husband and two kids. We bought this property because of the view. Absolutely fell in love with the area. Can't be there all the time so decided to let others enjoy what this area has to offer. I have a wonderful neighbor - Amanda - who looks after my cabin and she is the one to contact if you are intrested in staying here. I really hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I do!!!!!
