The Maple Lodge has in the past hosted events such as weddings, corporate functions and birthdays. We have hosted events with up to 50 people at a time. When we are requested to host such events the booking guest is required to advise us the time of the event, the catering company, the photographer and other service providers, any music, and most importantly the number of people attending the event.
Sonia did not advise us of any of these things prior to booking. We found out about a wedding the day before the event, only because I advised Sonia that I would be meeting her in person at the property to drop off the keys.
It is regrettable that Sonia had such a poor experience, but we require full disclosure of any events at the Maple Lodge, this is to ensure that no noise complaints are received from neighbours, and that council doesn’t shut down your event as it happens. We must also make sure that our insurance covers any event. Sonia is lucky that I was able to advise the neighbours on such short notice. I was extremely conscious that Sonia’s event would be shut down because of the significant late notice, I had to contact Sonia directly a few times.
I apologise for the Foxtel issues, however we provide over 300 DVDs and internet access (including Netflix and Stan). However we encourage our guests to enjoy the outdoors, Alpacas and lovely cafes, restaurants and pubs in the area.
