This cave apartment is cute and as comfortable as possible (don't expect a four star hotel experience. It's a cave, remember?). All basic amenities are provided and Raquel is an excellent and helpful host. Location is quiet and scenic. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to visit Granada in a surprising but beautiful way.

Gracias Raquel!

The cave was a fabulous experience. It's not for everyone - if you don't like enclosed spaces you may think twice but this is just the nature of dwelling in a cave. It was around 30 degrees when we went but the cave was super cool and always a welcome temperature after being out in the sun all day. It was quiet at night too and very restful. Raquel was friendly, very helpful and considerate. She would leave candles for us if we arrived back late which was lovely! The location in Sacramento was perfect for our group. A beautiful and breathe-taking walk to the Albaicin either by the high road track through the winding cobbled streets past traditional Spanish houses, or via the low road past numerous bars and flamenco places. It took 10 mins to walk once we found our way and was just a 5€ taxi back from the centre of the Albaicin if you decide not to walk. The cave has a lovely view from the terrace of the Alhambra and we spent our evenings there drinking wine, watching the sunset before venturing out. The facilities are enough to make a small breakfast with coffee to get you started before you try out the various Tapas bars to eat in. Totally recommend the cave!

Probably one of our best Airbnb stays we booked so far. Even better then expected from photo's and description. Accommodation, host and location are all as good as it gets. We stayed for a couple of nights with Raquel and although the accommodation is just around a corner in her backyard it felt both private and comforting. It's quite spacey and extremely clean. There's plenty of room to relax both in- and outside. Shower (warm water) and toilet are just outside in a small separate space but that was no problem at all. Feels like just another room or any other normal bathroom for that matter. The temperature in the cave is actually really nice in the summer, it's cool and feels much better then a air conditioned room. It can feel a bit clammy but it didn't bother us and it should definitely not withhold you from booking. Raquel invited us very friendly and explained plenty about the neighbourhood. She's located in Sacremonte which is an older Granada neighbourhood filled with small restaurants, flamenco shows and bars. Going to the city centre (or Alhambra) is 15 - 20 min away by feet. Plenty of busses if you mind the walking. We were never bored during our 4 days of stay ;) Small side note, it's a bit tricky to get there by car, since this part of the city is partly closed for cars most of the day. If you can get in, we wouldn't recommend it for the streets are really narrow and mostly steep. Better to park your car in one of the the city parkings or like we did in the Carretera de Murcia (which is a large main street). It's free and we walked for 15-20 min to the accommodation. Overall, highly recommended!!

Cave: what a wonderful place! If you like characteristic places to stay in stead of boring hotel rooms (as do we) then this should be your nr one. It's been a unique experience. The cave is really spacious and comfortably cool during the hot summer days we were there. Beds are comfortable, there are enough couches for a whole family, "kitchen" is little but has everything to prepare a simple breakfast. Bathroom is really basic (like carvan style) but clean and comfortable. The garden is really nice and welcoming. The roof terrace gives you a unique view of the Alhambra (be sure to book months in advance). Neighborhood: in the middle of the old gypsy neighborhood Sacromonte. Every day the neighborhood gets flooded by tourists (even on Segway). There are a lot of places offering Flamenco shows (all of them a bit to touristy if you ask me). It's within walking distance of the city center and Alhambra (15-20 mins) but keep in mind that it's quite an exercise because of the height difference. Getting there by bus is really easy too. Getting there by car could be a bit of a problem: the neighborhood is only accessible by car between 14:00 and 20:00. Outside of this timeframe, park free @ albaycin parking and take the bus or taxi to "venta el Gallo" which is right next to the cave. Host: Raquel is really lovely and welcoming. She speaks English well enough to help you with everything you need. One of the nicest hosts we met via Airbnb.
