This bright room is on the main floor of my home. Bathroom is nearby, and is private except when I need basement access. Guest will have a key; so no curfew. No other overnight guests are permitted, unless authorized by me 24 hours in advance. Parking is available on street, with my parking permit. The location is SUPERB for all Downtown and Midtown activities.

This is a fantastic location very close to both Downtown Denver and the Midtown hospital district, which are both quick and easy 10 to 20 minute walks away. My home is close enough to go quickly wherever you want, whether on foot, by bus, scooter, or rideshare.

I am located in the "Uptown" neighborhood, just east of downtown, in an old (1892) working-class Victorian home (not elegant, but roomy, with character, lots of light and high ceilings). The common rooms (living room, dining room and kitchen) are available for guest use. In the summer, a large evaporative cooler and ceiling fans help keep the whole house cool. The small, fenced garden in back is a work in progress, with a small patio under the grape arbor, and the front porch is ideal for watching the world go by. My backyard chickens provide amusement and fresh eggs, and are the primary reason for the "unfinished" nature of my yard, because they eat everything!

This particular room, the Queen Bed Room, is on the main floor of my home and accommodates one or two adults. It is quiet, bright and airy, with a comfortable bed and a large, high closet. The room also comes with a chest of drawers, a nightstand, a cheval mirror, an armchair and a straight back chair. A small desk and a small refrigerator can be substituted for the armchair. Guests are welcome to use the common areas for work or entertainment.

I provide all bedding (sheets, blankets, covers), pillows and cases, towel sets, hair dryer, toilet paper and tissues, and hand soap. Guest should bring toiletries and bathrobe. Guest is also responsible for laundering bedding and towels, and being vigilant against bringing in any kind of creepy crawling things. Laundry can be done on premises for $3 per load, but needs negotiating because facilities are in host's private quarters. Otherwise, there is a laundromat nearby.

While COVID-19 is active, Lysol wipes will be available to sanitize everything host and guest might touch or use outside of the bedroom and bathroom, in the common areas. MASK USE will be decided once the prospective guest's activities and risk factors have been established, but will not be necessary in the privacy of the guest's room or bathroom.

Some amenities in my home are Wireless Internet/WiFi, a baby grand piano, fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room. Refrigerator space is limited in the kitchen, but a smaller refrigerator can be moved to the guest room.

Very nearby are 4 grocery stores, from the basic to the natural to the gourmet; a number of liquor and fine wine stores; multiple coffee shops and some Internet cafes; Denver's many beautiful parks, and numbers of great and some renowned restaurants and eateries for breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, dinner, and dessert. Churches, some beautiful and historical, abound, and many offer some of the most beautiful music and the most interesting services and dialogues around.

Entertainment venues too are close by, from Brew Pub Tours to the Denver Performing Arts Complex, movie theaters and world-renowned book stores, excellent museums of all kinds and sizes, including the Denver Art Museum, the Clyfford Still Museum, our wonderful Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and The Children's Museum. The gold-domed Colorado State Capitol, the Denver Public Library, the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Downtown Aquarium, and the ever-expanding Denver Zoo are easily reached. Most of these great amenities are within 2 to 3 miles of my home and can be easily accessed by foot or by public transportation (the RTD). The sheer number of great hang-outs of every kind is really astonishing. Denver is truly a Great City! Just be sure the venue you choose is open and has a distancing plan in use while COVID-19 remains problematic.

My home is an easy walk to downtown or less than 5 minutes to transportation throughout the city. It is in a perfect location for a wide variety of Denver convention, dining, shopping, athletic, cultural, and entertainment experiences, for individuals and for families. You can avoid the high prices of Downtown, while enjoying all of its offerings just a few minutes away.

If parking is needed, it is on the street in front of my home, and is unrestricted for up to 72 hours with the use of my parking permit. If you drive your car and re-park, the 72 hours re-set.

There is very easy access to major highways through Colorado. Come for the brilliance of the Colorado blue sky and sunshine and all the amenities that Uptown and Downtown Denver have to offer!

I love my Uptown neighborhood, which is within 2 to 3 miles of just about everything there is to do in Central Denver. There are five grocery stores, from the basic to the natural to the gourmet, in easy reach. There are a number of liquor and fine wine stores, multiple coffee shops and Internet cafes, Denver's many beautiful parks, and numbers of great and some renowned restaurants and eateries for breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, dinner, and dessert. Churches, many beautiful and historical, abound, and many offer some of the most beautiful music and the most interesting services and dialogues around. Shopping opportunities, too, are many and varied, from the adjacent Downtown area, to nearby Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Cherry Creek North, to various outlet malls and stores further afield. Good antique and flea market venues are found throughout the Denver Metro area. Entertainment venues are close by. They include sports venues for the Denver Broncos, Nuggets, Outlaws, and Barbarians, and for the Colorado Rockies, Avalanche, Rapids, and Mammoth. There is also a great skateboard park just downtown, and tennis courts and playing fields of every kind are found in every part of the city. Music opportunities range from the Colorado Symphony and other symphonies, Opera Colorado and the Central City Opera, frequent Broadway shows, sublime choral offerings, chamber music performances, and an amazing number of live music venues to delight just about every musical taste. Live theater is indeed alive – and well – in Denver, with multiple offerings around town during much of the year. My neighborhood keeps growing upscale, but my home remains surprisingly quiet! My single family home is a true oasis in the city. Seven wonderful grandchildren and their parents make my life a blessing. I used to enjoy a great deal of interaction with my guests, but in this time of COVID-19, I am a bit more hermit-like. Since I live here, I will be available during the days and evenings, for the most part, and during the night, if the need arises. If a guest prefers very little interaction, that is fine.
