Our house is in the Avers Valley in the highest commune in Europe, Avers-Juf. The scenery at any time of year is stunning. We have three ski lifts just a 15 minute walk away and the villages tend to be at their busiest in winter. It is a very family friendly small ski resort. In summer the valley is green, tranquil, and blossoming with a huge variety of wild flowers. We have internet and parking for up to four vehicles. I make all my own bread and cakes and we would be delighted to include breakfast and an evening meal if desired and cater for omnivores and vegetarians at very affordable prices (CHF9 for breakfast and CHF17 for dinner). We normally need one week's notice in order to provide dinner. We do not provide gluten-free or lactose-free meals.
There is a bus eight times each day to and from our nearest town (Thusis, 65 minutes by bus) and there is a good rail link from there to Zurich and buses to Chur and Bellinzona. We are also happy to offer lifts to and from Chur or Thusis for a small fee. For those who are driving, we are just 25 minutes from the main road between Chur and San Bernardino and we are just 20 minutes from Magic Wood, the Bouldering paradise of Switzerland. We are a minimum of 3 hours from St Moritz by bus and train.
We have accommodation for up to 12 people in 3 triple and 1 twin room. The rooms are spacious, warm and simply furnished. Three of these rooms are situated within their own top floor flat with large living room and large bathroom. Winter and summer the views are incredible for each and every room. We would be delighted to include breakfast and an evening meal if desired and cater for omnivores and vegetarians at very affordable prices.
We are a small monastic community of two with a special calling to providing hospitality. We are happy to welcome people of any peaceful religion or of none and are also family and animal friendly.
In winter particularly, our busiest time due to ski season, the cancellation policy is strict, as our apartment is likely to be in demand. In February, we offer a room for one or two people in our own apartment at normal airbnb rates. The guest apartment may or may not be available and is usually open to larger groups staying for a week at a time, Saturday to Saturday. Please send me a message for the price and availability.

Interação com os hóspedes
We enjoy interaction with guests particularly with those who choose to eat with us, but we are also happy to give guests their privacy if so desired.
If you fancy a spa while you are here, there is a very nice one in Andeer; indoor and outdoor swimming pool and sauna. We are 20 minutes from the bouldering area at Magic Wood.
For guests without their own car Bruno is happy to give people lifts to the local shop in Cresta or to cafés, restaurants, ski lifts etc., for a small fee.
Please note - we are 3 hours from St Moritz by public transport!
We are quiet living people so we do not appreciate raucous parties and do not allow smoking in the house but as the guest apartment is self-contained anything else goes! Pets are welcome (but not too many!). We do not sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own.
Please bring house-shoes or slippers to wear in doors. Outdoor shoes should be left in the hall.
Please note that if you order meals and I do the shopping and preparation you will be expected to pay whether you eat or not. Meals cannot normally be cancelled less than one week in advance.
We do not sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own.
We are opposed to Halal food for ethical and religious reasons and would be grateful if guests would refrain from consuming it on the premises.
Regarding waste disposal:
(1) Please wash any cartons and bottles and place in bag provided for recycling.
(2) Keep organic waste separate from non-organic.
(3) Keep meat and fish waste separate from other organic waste.
(4) Feminine hygiene bags may be found in the bathroom cabinet. Please ask for toilet rolls as needed.
(5) If you have a baby please bring a bag and take away dirty nappies or you will be charged CHF2 for each bag used if we do it. Thanks!
My partner and I run a small guesthouse where we welcome people for both holidays and retreats. I am Irish and Bruno is (Italian) Swiss. We manage to communicate in a number of languages. We enjoy offering hospitality and introducing this lovely valley to our guests and most guests usually appreciate the tranquil space we provide though we are also happy to entertain families and more energetic tourists.
