It seems that Nischaiy was not aware of the concept of a Homestay:
1. Kitchen error
Thank you for pointing out the error with the Kitchen listed as an amenity. On rectifying the error immediately, we had mailed you about the same, to which you did not respond.
2. Preference of breakfast.
Because of your ignorance of what a homestay is, you were expecting multiple choices in breakfast. As a home, just like yours, or the several gazillion homes across our country, breakfast is usually one or at the most, two items. Again, this is a Homestay and not a resort/ hotel.
We had provided unlimited quantity of soft idlies/sambar which most of the members in your group appreciated and complimented us for. We had also provided bread, butter and jam as an additional option. The next morning we also provided unlimited supply of hot pooris which everybody appreciated.
If you had any confusion about "what items you would prefer for breakfast", you could have confirmed with us the previous evening.
3. Nearby restaurants and the question of trust
We had specifically asked you to eat lunch at Kushalnagar before you arrived. Also, to correct you, the nearest restaurant is 7 kms away, and not 15 kms away as you mentioned in your review. These are places that we recommend to guests usually and have never gotten any unpleasant reviews yet.
The question of trust, however, is entirely your issue, which we cannot help.
4. Tea drinking
Tea and coffee were supplied as per your request, whenever required, according to your specifications. Moreover, we had allowed you to make your own tea, although it is a violation of our Kitchen usage policy. There are ample reviews about our tea and coffee and our food which you may read in the reviews on airbnb and elsewhere. Any other method of tea preparation is beyond our knowledge.
Please read ALL our previous reviews to ascertain the quality of hospitality we render to our guests.
Our Homestay is conveniently located close to most tourist attractions, all of them being under 45 mins drive away and that is one of our USPs. The Dubare Elephant camp, a very important tourist attraction is barely TEN mins drive away. The homestay itself is only 70 meters off the state highway.
Points to note:
1. You came with an additional guest without checking with us first, whom we accommodated without any hassles.
2. We had specifically requested you to have lunch and come. But you checked in at 3 pm, way past lunch time, and demanded to use our kitchen, which was busy preparing food for our other guests. Considering your situation, we even offered to make you fresh chapatis/curry for lunch which you declined and insisted on eating the maggi packets which you brought.
3. You telephoned for a bonfire past 8 pm in the night, when our estate staff had already left for the day, forgetting that it is a homestay and not a hotel/resort.
All in all, we understand that your issues with us largely stems from your skewed assumption that this is a hotel and not a homestay, We wish you had communicated your requests to us beforehand so that any misunderstanding could have been avoided. Please note that you had not responded to even one message we sent you via Airbnb.
You may have stayed in other homestays before, and had a different experience, but let us clarify to you, that a homestay concept INSISTS that the hosts (and not a caretaker) stay with the guests in the same property, and take care of them like family. You may cross check this detail on the website of the Karnataka tourism board.
We take our Homestay business and hospitality very seriously, and ensure that our hosting standards are impeccable, as is reflected in our reviews.
In future, we hope that you would clarify all points before checking into any homestay/resort/ hotel.
