This newly renovated space is ski in- ski out; drive right up in summer with a vehicle with a bit of ground clearance; or walk up the hill from the parking area. Fall 2021 upgrades: hydro is now operational! Wifi and smart TV are in. The toilet is 2 outhouses; no shower. Situated in a private location with a phenomenal view. Guests must bring their own drinking water, sheets and pillow cases leaving as it was found. While it can sleep 8; the living space is comfortable for 6.

O espaço
When you are in the cabin, it is completely private with panoramic views of the mountains. You cannot see any neighbors from inside. After a 3 minute hike up "The Toboggan Hill", walk in to a covered porch where you will find snow shovels and a cargo sled to bring up your gear in the winter time. Now that we have hydro, we will have the cabin warmed for you with remote thermostat! Electric heat can be used throughout your stay, though we have also upgraded the wood stove this fall to an efficient Blaze King with glass door to enjoy the ambiance of a wood fire (wood and newspaper provided for guests). We have also added an electric range and oven and an electric fridge. Once you've brought up all of your gear, move your vehicle to the overnight parking area.

The cabin features a 16 x 16 ft great room including table, chairs, kitchen area and living area with new couch and 2 fire-side chairs and central wood stove. A water pot is kept on the wood stove for washing up- load with snow (or rain barrel water in off-season) after each dish washing.

Above the main cabin is a 16 x 8 ft loft area accessed by trap door and ladder. It is 4 ft at the highest with sloping roof to 2 ft. There are 2 new double mattresses with mattress protectors and memory foam pillows and feather duvets. Guests must bring their own sheets and pillow cases. This area is great for kids.

Our custom Art and Soul handmade pottery dishes can be carefully used and there is a full kitchen set up for guest use. Dishes can be done using a basin on the counter top with water heated on the wood stove or electric range (snow melt in winter; rain water in summer). Grey water can be emptied into the outdoor sink on the porch were a BBQ is also set up. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cooking oils, salt and pepper, dish soap, toilet paper and hand sanitizer are provided. Kitchen linens including cloth napkins, dish cloths and dish towels are provided.

Just off of the great room is a wood box with kindling and paper. Above are cleaning supplies including mop and bucket, brooms, and vacuum.

Kitty corner is a bedroom with new queen mattress on bottom bunk and double above protected by mattress covers. Feather duvets are provided but guests must bring their own sheets and pillow cases.

Rates will be $150 for off season and Monday/ Tuesday/ Wednesday/ Thursday nights in December / January as the ski hill is closed Mondays & Tuesdays (see the Hudson Bay Mountain Calendar regarding opening dates) $200 for ski season & $220 for weekend nights- based on planned opening dates. We won't reimburse if the hill is closed for any reason- you can always occupy yourselves playing games, exploring the area, back country skiing, Mountain Biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or curling up by the fire with a book.

An extra charge of $40/ extra adult over 2 will be added. We will not charge for kids (under 18)- just only note the number of adults when you make your booking. The cabin is romantic for 2; perfect for a family and fun for a small group of friends. We have a minimum 2 nights policy new for the 2021-2022 season- really you do want 2 nights- its a fair bit of work to bring everything up and get settled in. On that note, bring headlamps for the walk in or better yet, arrive during day light.

We do have a small hypoallergenic dog who comes to the cabin with us. Jason is allergic to dogs, so we have a no pet policy.
There is a new 32 inch smart TV on the main level and the smaller older TV has moved to the loft (it is not a smart TV- you can use the dongle and connect to your devices.

We have also added wifi which is really fast (better than our home wifi) which some guests have appreciated as you can now work from the cabin should you chose.

Covid rules require that we have a list of all guests including kids as well as their contact info; personally our family has all been vaccinated and only invite friends into the cabin who have been vaccinated. Please follow public health guidelines during your stay- this is very important to ensuring the ongoing operations of Hudson Bay Mountain; as well as helping us feel comfortable renting our cabin.

We would like to rent our cabin to responsible people who will treat the space with care and respect; hoping to build up a regular clientele. We do not want guests looking for a party scene. We are going to keep the "autobook" setting off for now so that we can discuss the ins and outs of the cabin with guests prior to confirmation of booking.

Draws for the off season include stunning hiking to the peak of Hudson Bay Mountain or Crater Lake through meadows of alpine wildflowers. Huckleberries abound. It is also a great base for accessing mountain biking trails, one of which is just outside the cabin. Cross country skiing is a short 5 minute drive. You can backcountry ski from the cabin any time there is snow. It’s just 15 minutes to drive into Smithers for fancy dinners and all the town offers.

We do not charge a housekeeping fee; as we ask that guests clean the cabin prior to departure leaving it as it was found. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have- just message through the Airbnb ap-

Our cabin is quite secluded - you can't see any other cabins from inside. You can put on your skis and ski right to the Prairie T-bar though you need to hike up a bit to come back up. The Sidewinder run takes you over to the Lodge with Wiskey Jack pub and the ski rental area. In summer, start alpine hikes right from the cabin, and pick huckleberries as far as the eye can see.

I love small town living and having the great out doors so accessible. I started hosting in 2019 when we bought our ski cabin. We first looked at rental options on Hudson Bay Mnt and found they were very limited. We thought it made sense to rent it in days when we were not using it and so far it’s worked out quite well. We've traveled the world with our family and appreciate the benefits of this style of accommodations. We do our best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and trust that you will treat our cabin with care and respect. I’m off site when the cabin is rented but easily reachable by cell phone.
