O espaço
This beautiful cottage features a living room with 72 inch, smart TV, access to several streaming services, and Wi-Fi. Bedroom is outfitted with a comfortable queen sized bed for 2 and a variety of pillow options. Plenty of closet space and a full bath featuring a rain shower head.

Kitchen Amenities include a mini fridge, microwave, coffee station, disposable dishes, cups and silverware. Complimentary water and snacks are provided. Please note: the cottage is not equipped with a full kitchen for cooking. Eat at the famous five star, Miners' & Stockmans' steakhouse or several restaurant options are available in Guernsey, just 4 miles away, including the local grocery store.

Cell service can be spotty in Wyoming. If you have Verizon, your cell will work at the cottage as we have a network extender. If you do not, cell service may be intermittent or non-existent.

A lovely outdoor courtyard with seating is yours to enjoy. The studio on the property houses our gourmet Salt Water Taffy business, so you may see us from time to time as we access this building. Next door to the cottage is our personal home…so if you need anything, just holler. It is important to keep the gate to the deer fence (surrounding the courtyard) closed, or the deer will eat all of my lovely flowers.

If you are here to play…Guernsey State Park is only 2 miles away with a multitude of recreation options in addition to other area attractions such as Register Cliff, the Oregon Trail Ruts, Fort Laramie, and several archeological digs.
If you are here to work…Hartville offers peace and quiet for a good night’s sleep and a comfortable, homelike atmosphere after a hard day’s work.

Either way…put your feet up and enjoy your stay. You’re going to love it here.

A true time-capsule of the West, this quaint village sits in the Eureka Canyon within the Haystack Mountains and claim’s its fame as Wyoming’s oldest, incorporated town that is still in existence.

Recreation abounds within minutes at Guernsey State Park, offering everything from boating, fishing, river floating, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, to beach activities. Wildlife is plentiful, providing opportunities for bird watching, fishing, and hunting. Hike or mountain bike the trails while you take in the openness of the landscape and breathe in the crisp, Wyoming air.

History buffs can experience the West as it once was. The area boasts numerous historic sites of importance to the exploration and expansion of the West, including Fort Laramie, Register Cliff, the Oregon Trail wagon ruts in addition to major archeological sites such as Hell Gap and Powers Two Paleoindian Archeological Site (11,000-13,000 years old), possibly the earliest ochre mining site in North America.

Incredible, stone buildings of architectural interest can be found within the State Park created by the Depression Era CCC (Civil Conservation Corps). Don’t miss what is quite possibly the world’s most elaborate stone outhouse and walk along the breathtaking cliffs that rim rock the “Castle”, another amazing CCC structure. Visit the stone museum and learn about the history of the park and its surroundings.
After exploring the history of the area, animal watching, beach combing or water sports at the lake; have a five star dinner at Hartville’s famous steakhouse, the Miners' & Stockmans' Bar; featuring the oldest bar-back in Wyoming, dating to the Civil War era. Making its way from craftsman in Germany, the bar was ferried up the Laramie River to Fort Laramie where it was installed and later brought to the rip roaring town of Hartville at the turn of the century, where it now resides. After your meal, take a selfie though the iron bars of the historic Hartville jail, located directly behind the oldest bar.

As the evening winds down, relax under the grape covered pergola in the cottage’s courtyard or return to the lake for an evening hike to watch the sunset over the distant mountain peaks. Tired from the day’s adventures, crawl into your comfortable bed with a variety of pillow options.
Wake up rested and have a hearty breakfast at Twisters restaurant in Guernsey where scratch baked yummy goodness awaits while you plan the days adventures.

My husband and I live in Wyoming...love to fly fish, snow ski, collect antique books, are serial home renovators...and will sleuth out delicious bakeries at every opportunity. Owning our own business for over 20 years (a home decor company and a salt water taffy company) has afforded many opportunities for us to travel. We have two fur babies, a German Shepard and a Lhasa Apso, whom we adore. We are polite, respectful, disciplined, tidy people with a sense of accountability to you, your home and your neighbors. Please note, we travel a great deal and our response times may be delayed depending upon internet / cell service. If my response time is slower than expected, I apologize in advance. Sincerely, Alice & Nate
