Rustic, cozy, cottage on remote private island on Brandy Pond in Hancock County Maine. Fly in or drive and boat in, summer or fall. The area is really wilderness for about a 15 mile drive in. If someone has an SUV in your party, that is the best vehicle to take for the scenic journey in. After you arrive, we have a sciff with a motor that is very seaworthy that we will take you over to the island with. After an orientation on how the gas appliances work, we will then have you drive us back to the mainland so you can use the boat during your stay for fishing or exploring Brandy Pond's beauty. This private getaway offers quiet and solitude. 2 Old Town otter Kayaks, and two lake canoes are ready to take you on a blissful cruise to see moose, beaver, and majestic bald Eagles. Wake to the call of the resident loons. The cabin offers three bedrooms , one with a queen size bed, one with a double, and a bunk room with extra wide singles. We also have a loft that sleeps two, usually kids choice! The living room couch can be made into a double bed as well. Linens provided.
It is equipped with gas lights, stove, fridge, coffee maker or French press, gas powered sink and water. A full kitchen with all utensils will fulfill any cooks desires. A large Lobstah pot is awaiting for you, if Lobstah is on the menu! We also have an outdoor grill for grilling.
Cell phones work well and can be charged using a generator we have set up. Remember to pack your home phone charger. Please note: US Cellular works on the Island but we have realized AT & T does not, and Verizon only works on the deck.
Our outhouse is clean and unique. We also have a shower house.

We have been notified that an occupancy tax for the State of Maine is now imposed. As of April 1st 2017, Airbnb will be collecting the tax fee.
Good news though! We now have a generator for charging phones, It is a remote start and very quiet tucked outside the boat house. We do ask you use it on a limited basis. A full gas tank should last you for your stay if used conservatively. It is 110 current, bring your home phone chargers!
Have fun! Keep the cabin clean and treat it like you would your own home. No smoking indoors. Dogs are welcome but please don't let them sleep on the beds or furniture while wet! Use common sense when building a camp fire in the fire pit outside. No bonfires please. Keep a bucket of water nearby! No fireworks! Eagle Island has resident Eagles, as well as loons and many other native birds. Fireworks will disrupt their nesting and chase them away. Be respectful of the Island flora and follow the pathway around the island when walking. Do not get too close to the Eagles nest, you will spook them and their Eaglets. They do love their pictures taken though! Enjoy the boating, swimming, fishing and relaxation! Play games, read, or just sit on the decks with a cocktail or two and maybe spy a moose, eagle, beaver or loon.
We supply all linens for bedding, but ask you bring beach towels with you. Extra blankets stored in random draws throughout cabin, please search and you will find! Deck furniture cushions are kept inside when closing camp. Please feel free to place them on furniture while there. Additional outside chairs and lounges in the shed out back and more stored under the bunk beds if needed.
We also request you bring your own personal floatation devices, PFD, or life jackets. It is Maine State law anyone under age 16 wear one when on the water. Fishing licenses by day or week are also available nearby or online at the State of Maine website, but need to be purchased before arrival for your convenience, We have a beautiful outhouse and shower house! Rules for keeping them clean are posted. Cleaning supplies are in the cottage. When leaving, please place linens in basket provided, I will remake the beds. Please sweep the floors and make sure all dishes have been washed. Your garbage is to leave the Island with you as well. We do not charge a cleaning fee so your help is appreciated.
