This stunning 1st floor two-bedroom, two-bathroom upmarket self-catering apartment has partial sea views and is directly across the road from Umhlanga’s main bathing beach. There are variety of restaurants, bars and supermarkets, all within easy walking distance.The apartment has Full Premium DSTV package (satellite TV), FREE high-speed Wi-Fi internet & air-conditioning. There is a communal pool, braai areas and garden. Due to Covid19 there is no cleaning service during a guests stay.

The Living and Dining Room
The living / dining area is beautifully furnished. The full Premium DSTV package is provided on a 49-inch flat screen smart TV.
From the lounge and dining area are sliding doors that open out onto a lovely patio (includes patio seating) with partial sea views.


Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped including an under counter oven, hob, fridge, microwave and dish washer. The dual washing machine & dryer is located in a dedicated laundry area outside of the kitchen. There is also a laundromat in the complex.

The Main Bedroom
The main bedroom has a king extra length size bed and partial sea views as well as access to the patio. There is an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Quality bed linen, bath and beach towels, first aid kit, iron, ironing board, hairdryer and a safe are provided.

The Second Bedroom
The second bedroom has two single extra length beds which can be converted into a king extra length size bed on request. Quality bed linen, bath and beach towels. The family bathroom is next to the bedroom and has a bath tub and a shower.

1. This is a self-catering apartment.
2. In the event of a cancellation of a booking the following cancellation policy will apply:
To avoid any misunderstanding, a booking constitutes a binding contract. All guests confirming a booking are advised to take out insurance to cover the full cost of their accommodation in the event of a cancellation. We will seek compensation for any cancelled accommodation that cannot be re-let.
3. The maximum occupancy of four persons in the unit (4 persons) must not be exceeded under any circumstances. Failure to adhere to this will result in the extra people having to move out with immediate effect, or the booking will be cancelled and no refund given.
4. We regret no refunds on early departure.
5. The guest will be held liable for any damages or losses in the apartment. Your breakage deposit will be refunded after your departure once an inventory check is completed and all conditions are met.
6. Cleaning Services - Monday to Friday – excluding Weekends and Public Holidays. This service is limited to: Making up of beds, cleaning of bathrooms, sweeping all floors and washing dishes.
Linen will be changed every 6th day (provided not on weekends and public holidays) and upon every check-in.
7. Toilet paper, guest amenities and bottled water are provided on arrival.
8. The Proprietor shall not be held for personal injury, death or loss/theft/damage to property that may occur during the guest's stay, on or about the Proprietor's premises. The guest/s hereby waive/s and abandon/s any claims of whatsoever nature including but not limited to that for theft, injury, death, loss or damage of whatsoever nature, against the Proprietor, whether arising from the Proprietor's default, negligence or otherwise.
9. The guest agrees to waive all rights to compensation, in respect of injury to persons or loss of or damage to property which may occur whilst on or about the Host’s premises, and agree to indemnify the Hosts/Agents in respect of all claims for personal injury or loss of or damage to property which may occur during their stay on or about the Host’s premises.
10. On departure, kindly ensure that all windows are closed, air conditioners and lights are off and all doors are locked.
11. Checkout is at 10:00 am and keys & remotes must be returned. If you request an earlier check-out, this can be arranged.
12. The guest shall be held responsible for the locksmith account if keys / remotes are mislaid, damaged or lost.
13. No Pets Allowed.
14. This is a no smoking apartment and under no circumstances is smoking permitted inside the apartment. You can smoke in the patio.

There are numerous hotels (in the immediate vicinity where children can enjoy ten pin bowling, game arcades etc.
For the water enthusiast, there is deep sea fishing, dolphin viewing, scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, just relaxing on the beaches or taking a long leisurely walk or a jog on the 5km beach Promenade.
There are several world class golf courses in the immediate vicinity. Mount Edgecombe, Zimbali, Simbithi and Durban Country Club to name a few.

The Shades is a five-minute drive from Gateway, (the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the Southern Hemisphere), twenty-minute drive from Durban and the International Conference Centre (I. C. C.) Private first world hospitals are a five-minute drive away by car. Sibaya Casino is only a ten-minute drive away.
Ushaka Marine World is just a 20-minute drive from the apartment. Take a ride in the cable car to the top of the Moses Mabhida Stadium (home of the 2010 Football Word Cup) and enjoy spectacular views of Durban and the entire coastline as far as the eye can see.

Hire a bicycle and ride along the magnificent Durban beach front promenade. (A definite “must” on your things to do)
Umhlanga Lagoon Reserve Nature trails (5 minutes from The Shades) – enjoy the beauty of the forest, the thrill of crossing the lagoon on wooden bridges.
The Hawaan Forest is a small remnant of a pristine dry coastal forest that is rich in biodiversity.

Umhlanga Rocks is the jewel of the KwaZulu-Natal coastline and is one of the most sought-after holiday resorts in South Africa whilst still retaining its unique seaside village feel. If you are looking for a holiday, at any time of the year, Umhlanga is definitely “first choice”
