plenty of room for 2 couples, a family or roomy 2 floor stay with total privacy. 1 bedroom on each floor, large bathroom with clawfoot tub, mini-bathroom with shower, kitchen and mini-bedroom ideal for child or single person. Not toddler proof but great for kids 8 and older.

O espaço

Enjoy 2 private bedrooms, your own kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms ,,a private deck and a sitting area in this turn-of the-century house just a short walk from the historic town of Marshall, NC

This is an ideal space for a family, 2 couples, 2 single travel companions or a single couple who wants plenty of room and privacy. Best for children 8 and older, this is not a toddler proof apartment.

This 3rd story space is strictly floor level and boasts the biggest bed (king size) in the entire house . Memory foam pad makes it a comfy nook indeed! Woven clothes from Bolivia, Costa Rica and the Philippines hang on the walls. Other imports include items and art from Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Ecuador, Australia and India. These things have all been collected by our family and friends on their travels.

Originally, this space was inaccessible. We opened it up to create a cozy, private bedroom for our daughter. Recently, it's been fun to think of it as a multi-cultural dream space.

In contrast to the warm tones of the loft, the Queen Room has cool, misty mint colors that invoke chillax! This upstairs bedroom sports an optional bed-tent for an exotic flair on a Queen size memory foam mattress, has it's own private sitting room and outside deck with a view!

Marshall is an eclectic little river town that has a thriving art and music culture. There is white water rafting, hiking, horseback riding and hot springs within a short distance. Asheville is a mere 25 minutes drive up the beautiful scenic river road.

This house was in decline when we bought it 22 years ago. We have resurrected the splendor of the structure; reclaiming original trim wood and flooring that was fashioned with virgin timber from this region in the Blue Ridge mountains. Tom has done most of the renovation himself, incorporating his artistic flair and unusual floor plan designs.

Interação com os hóspedes

We love to meet new people and have enjoyed the company of so many interesting people through airbnb. We respect the privacy of our guests and sometimes are unable to meet them in person if our schedules do not allow.

Outras observações

The road to the house is a traditional steep, winding and narrow mountain street and has been likened to Old World Europe. GPS will lead you astray so please follow directions on your reservation. It is best to arrive before dark if possible.

Such a magical and charming house. We stayed in the upstairs apartment and had a great time exploring all of the fun little nooks and crannies. The house was very thoughtfully put together, and you can clearly see that Victoria and Tom have wonderful artistic sensibilities. They are warm and friendly and had lots of recommendations for fun things to do. We were completely comfortable here. Watch a movie in the loft for a campout feel. Eat breakfast on the balcony and wake up with the cool mountain air. Definitely check out the hilltop at sunset.

Very nice private space on hill overlooking Marshall. Walking back from town might be strenuous for some but it is not too far. The apartment has a pleasant bohemian feel and everything you will need. Victoria and Tom were helpful and very kind. This place is certainly worth considering if your journey takes you through Marshall.

This home, and the owners are exquisite. The home is so thoughtfully crafted and every detail is attended to. We did not get to meet Tom but Victoria was a wonderful hostess and I wished we could have stayed much longer than the weekend. Can't say enough about our first ever Air BNB stay!! Pure magic.

This place was built with heart and soul. Every time you turn your head, your eyes fall on another handmade piece that makes this house a home away from home. Our destination was Asheville and driving to and from Marshall was pleasant and good for winding down in the evenings. Victoria provided efficient communication and made our arrival comfortable. There were extra toiletries stashed here and there for anything we may have forgotten and there were an unexpected variety kitchen staples for cooking. We were very satisfied with our stay here and highly recommend it!

I have stayed at 17 ABNBs now and this was by far my favorite. The hosts are exactly what you want in a host. They took the time to tell us about the journey of the house. My kids fought over the upstairs room because it creates a feeling of being in another country. The house was clean, kitchen has everything you will need-except food. The bathtub it to die for. The mosaics around the house are exceptional. The veranda off the master is serene and a lovely place for coffee and evening glass of wine. The winding road to their place is an adventure in itself. Loads of fun. You can walk to everything. Highlights were the recomendations from the hosts. Mad-Co (Company) Brewery-best beer had on the trip. The Sweet Monkey Bakery and Cafe was the best breakfast I have ever had. And I mean that honestly. Ask Victoria to see her jewelry displays. Her pieces are exquisite. I would go back to Marshall, just to stay there. Great place to stay and easy access to the highways and stuff. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

A quirky, eclectic home complete with homemade pot pies and pesto. A real treat, as were the breakfast items and coffee. Everything we needed was right at hand. The guest room with its high ceiling and small balcony was totally charming.

Perfil do usuário de VictoriaVictoria é um superhost.

Victoria enjoys hanging out with the family, creating adornment in the form of jewelry, growing flowers, riding her motorcycle, experiencing new places, cultures, people, frequenting farmer's markets, hearing local musicians, hiking, singing, dancing.

Tom is a solar electrician and is responsible for the renovation of this house. He is also an author and artist. He is happiest working on creative projects.

After our children were grown, we went on a caretaking adventure internationally for 4 years, traveling and working in Costa Rica, Panama, Arkansas, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines and on the Oregon Coast. When we returned home in 2011, we decided to turn our house into a vacation rental to provide a place for fellow travelers to visit and experience our part of the world we love so much. We have incorporated weavings, art and momentos of our time in other parts of the world to add an international, eclectic flair. We love to share this with others.
