You’ll love this charming Queenslander home, so light & roomy with everything you need for a pleasant stay in Brisbane.

It’s 10kms and 20mins by train to Brisbane city and the airport.

Northgate train station, 2 good coffee shops & 2 craft brewers are all within an easy 5 minute walk.

Outside is a private deck set amongst tropical gardens.

Note the house is very close to the train station & light industry. But check the reviews to see that guests soon don’t notice the background noise.

Our house, Blue Haven is:

- 10 minutes drive from Brisbane International and Domestic Airports.
- 3 minutes walk to a train station then 8 train stops to Brisbane city.
- 4 train stops to Brisbane entertainment centre
- 13 kms from Brisbane CBD
- One hour by car from Sunshine & Gold coasts.
- All one level inside.

Dating from the 1930’s, the Queenslander style home has traditional features like high ceilings and fretwork.

The large main bedroom has an ensuite, and a separate spacious dressing area.
You’ll sleep well with a fan, reverse cycle air conditioner, blackout blinds and curtains.

The second bedroom has two king single beds with bedside tables, a ceiling fan, and also heavy blockout curtains for a nice sleep in.

Both bedrooms have luxurious linen and plenty of pillows.

There is a second complete bathroom for extra convenience.

At the front of the home is a bright sun room just perfect for a morning cup of tea or breakfast and a private reading nook with a rocking chair.

In the lounge room relax on the chaise lounge and watch Foxtel on the big screen TV, read, or strum on the acoustic guitar. Games and jigsaws are in the sideboard.

There is a large eat in kitchen with some basic cooking ingredients as well as breakfast supplies. Filtered tap water is at the sink.

The laundry area has front load washer and dryer, and a sunny clothes line is just outside the back door.

The large back deck is set in a tropical garden with subtle lights for balmy nights. Smoking is permitted on the deck.
You can take the wireless speaker outside or to any room and enjoy your music.

The decks for this house and a nearby occupied cottage are near each other but separated by plants.

This is an eco-friendly home with solar panels, and solar hot water. Rain water is used for flushing the toilet, washing clothes, and watering the garden.
Toiletries are provided in refillable containers to avoid single use packaging. We supplement our cleaning products with environmental options like vinegar, eucalyptus oil and bicarb. Our paper products are by “who gives a crap” and are recycled and environmental friendly.

There is off street, under cover parking for one car.

You can enter via stairs at the front of the property, or convenient ramp access at the back.

The house is very close to a popular commuter train station so you will notice train noise especially during peak hours on weekdays. At nights and weekends it’s quieter, but trains go past then too, including sometimes some pretty noisy goods trains.

However... please don’t write it off because of this. The house is much more elevated than the train line and it’s well insulated so we find most guests are not bothered by the trains too much. Most think the quality of the house and the generous inclusions still make it a wonderful place to stay. If you make sure all external doors and windows are closed when you go to bed (we have air conditioning) you should sleep well if you are not an exceptionally light sleeper.

We have a zero discrimination policy and welcome all guests.

This home is in Northgate, an older suburb of Brisbane, with leafy streets and attractive architecture. It’s easy to reach all amenities including shopping, eating, and entertainment, either by train or car.
There are coffee shops and boutique breweries nearby, the details are in the guide provided in the home.
On Sunday mornings you can walk to Nundah Farmers market which is an easy 10 minute stroll away, and have breakfast and pick up fresh produce.

I love home, pets and gardening. I also love traveling and exploring new places when I can. I’ve been hosting on Airbnb with my co host Ashley for nearly 3 years. We have 2 old Queenslanders side by side in Northgate that we are saving from developers. We lived in one or the other for 20 years, but now we have moved on, and we rent them both out. We want guests to relax and feel safe and comfortable when they stay so there are many thoughtful inclusions in our properties. I have lived in Northgate for much of my life off and on. It is an old suburb which is undergoing urban renewal so it’s an exciting place to be. Every time I look around a new cafe or bar has opened up around the corner!

You can let yourself in with the keys from a lock box. We’ll leave you alone so you can enjoy your privacy. I live nearby and Ashley lives on site. We are often working in the yard or in the house next door which is also an Airbnb of ours, and sometimes accessing our storage under the house, so we may cross paths with you during your visit, and are nearby for a quick response to any questions or concerns.
