With its mix of wood and colorful tiles, this Big Bear chalet has all the charm of a classic mountain cabin, along with the brightness of the Mediterranean. With its cozy bedroom, spacious loft, comfy living room (with wood burning stove and Roku TV), charming kitchen, and fenced backyard, it's perfect for small families, friends, couples and dogs! Right in Big Bear City (where many locals live), it is walking distance to low-key restaurants, and minutes away from the slopes and the lake.

O espaço
Note: Due to COVID-19, I am temporarily only allowing long-term stay (between 1 month and 4 months.) For long stay, max occupancy is 4 people, but please keep in mind that my small cabin will probably be a tight fit for 4 adults. The cabin is about 650 square feet with a lot of 2,500 square feet. There is a laundromat very close by but, unfortunately, no washer/dryer at the cabin (no laundry hookups.) I will leave about a week's supply of essential items before each stay (paper towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, coffee etc..) - but you would be responsible for buying your own supplies after that.

Welcome to my Big Bear Mountain Town cabin; I really hope you will enjoy your stay here! The cabin features:

- a living room with a wood-burning stove. There is also a WIFI router and a Roku TV (with Netflix and Amazon Prime.) If you use the Amazon channel, make sure you only select the "Amazon Prime" movies/shows (not the ones where you have to pay an additional fee.) There is also a bar where you can have meals at the cabin. It can technically fit up to 5 people - with a tight fit.

- the adjacent kitchen - with pots, pans, plates, silverware, refrigerator, oven, microwave, French press coffee, plus a week's supply of very basic food supplies: salt, sugar, coffee, herbal tea, sugar, oil, etc...

- the bathroom. There is soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hairdryer, and a first aid kit. The main house heater doesn't reach this room, but there is a ceiling heater to use when you use the shower. Please turn off that ceiling heater after use.

- the downstairs bedroom. It has a queen-size bed, a desk, and its own space heater

- the loft. It has a queen-size bed and a twin size bed. There is also a little dog bed (decorated with Polaroid pictures of dogs in Big Bear.) Beneath the queen size bed is a box with some old games (dominoes, clue), and a box (mostly 1970s style) ski pants - mostly small and medium-sized. Size and quality not guaranteed. If you use one of those ski pants, a $5 donation is suggested. I keep some house stuff store in the cabinets behind the curtain but if you need them, I have an iron and ironing board in there, as well as a humidifier, and a couple of small fans.
Please note: the loft is often much warmer than the rest of the house. In the winter, before you go to sleep, make sure to set the temperature low in the main house thermostat (I prefer 55-60 degrees), as heat rises and it will be warm upstairs. On sunny summer days, the loft gets uncomfortably hot in the afternoon and early evening (to the point where it will get too hot to hang out in) - however, as soon as it cools down outside, just open the window and turn on the window fan and it will get nice and cool for bedtime ;)

- a closed backyard. The closed backyard is a good place for your pups to stretch their legs. Please pick up after your pups, and of course, never leave them outside unattended.

- a front driveway. There is space for a total of 3 cars but it is stacked parking (one car blocks the other.) Since it's a long driveway, it could also fit a car towing a small trailer or boat (no long-term boat parking, as it's not allowed by the county...)

Acesso do hóspede
You will have access to the whole cabin (living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and loft), along with the fenced backyard (great for dogs, but please never leave you pups outside unattended) and semi-gated front yard. There is fast WIFI at the cabin.

Outras observações
On the table at the entrance of the cabin, I have a little binder with a house manual, a neighborhood guide, and a check-out checklist. Please take a look when you get to the cabin.

Localização

Big Bear, Califórnia, Estados Unidos

The cabin is located at the heart of Big Bear City, which is where many residents make their home (Big Bear Lake, 10 minutes away, is where there are more tourists.) Assuming it's not too cold, you can walk to the local market, local favorite restaurants (a diner and a Mexican restaurant) and many thrift stores. The ski resorts and the lake are less than a 10 minute drive. The cabin is quite close to the neighboring houses, and though the area is very quiet at night, there are many close by businesses, and quite a lot of activity during the day. This cabin is best suited for people wanting to be in a mountain town; people wanting an isolated cabin may want to choose another location ;)

I am a musician from France originally, but currently living in Los Angeles, CA. I love to travel, and I love meeting people from around the world, practicing different languages and discovering new cultures. I also love trying new foods, hearing live music, writing music, watching TV shows, and just hanging out. And I love dogs - especially senior dogs :) I've been an Airbnb host since 2013, and have welcomed guests from all over the country and the world to my L.A. home. An enthusiast of Big Bear - its ski resorts, lake and beauty - I am also now the proud owner of a cute little cabin in Big Bear City. For either property, I am looking for guests who are considerate, respectful of my space, and most of all nice people! Non-aggressive, house-trained dogs welcome! If you are bringing a dog, please let me know in advance. All dogs are welcome to my Big Bear cabin but, for my LA home, I may only accept very gentle, small dogs - in consideration of my own gentle small dog Izzy, and the occasional foster dogs I have at the house. I also use Airbnb as a guest, as I often travel with my band, my family or my friends. I am always considerate of the properties I stay in. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions - unless I am somewhere where I wouldn't have internet for some reason, I should respond within a few hours (or less.) Thanks for reading, and hope to meet you soon!

You would have the cabin to yourselves, but I am only a phone call away if you need anything (I myself reside 2 hours away, in Los Angeles.) I also have a couple of local contacts (housekeeper and handyman) who may be able to assist if needed.
