Built in 2014 the "tiny house" a 280 square foot custom timber frame cabin with a two-story vaulted ceiling. A wall of windows frames mountain views, with forest in every other direction. 100% off-grid solar-powered, enjoy a sense of openness and unity with nature. Detached canvas expedition tent is the perfect “guest glamping bedroom” (more details below).

Join us on a tour...

* Porch * The rocking chair front porch looks out onto the mountain ridge where hawks and eagles soar. Dim the lights for incredible stargazing in jet black skies.

* Living room * Features a Jotul wood stove and futon couch (sleeps 1 adult or 2 kids).

* Loft * A compact spiral staircase leads to two twin beds and northeasterly views. Wake up to the sun rising over the mountain and feel like you're in the trees. Overlooks the living room below but just lower the floor-to-ceiling blackout curtains for some privacy or to postpone sunrise while you sleep in.

* Bathroom * Cedar-lined full bathroom with a rain shower and unlimited on-demand hot water system. Includes fresh hotel quality linens and natural/organic bath products.

* BBQ area * Enjoy the open and level grassy lawn with two picnic tables, gas BBQ and a traditional stone bonfire pit tucked into the woods.

* Canvas tent with wood stove * 10x12 foot expedition style canvas wall tent on an elevated wood platform right next to the cabin. Equipped with a wood stove, two single camp cots with memory foam mattresses, electricity, WiFi and lights. The perfect extra sleeping space for families or an additional couple. Open the screened doors and windows to commune with nature.

* Grounds/Activities * 12 scenic acres to explore! Walk 200 feet to the cascading waterfalls that wind their way hundreds of feet up the mountain, or explore trails through the woods. Forage for apples (Sept/October) from several ancient trees and pick wild blackberries and raspberries (mid to late July). Cap your day with a campfire and plan the next day’s Delaware River excursion.

* Experience the future of sustainable, green energy in action * You'll be 100% off-the-grid and solar-powered. Tech and sustainability lovers will enjoy the magic of the high-powered solar and battery power system -- one of the few that exist in the northeast. All the gadgets, appliances and electricity work just like a normal house, but entirely from solar energy, 24/7 even on cloudy days.

* Thoughtful Amenities * Our goal is to provide everything you need to just show up, relax and have fun. All linens, toiletries, kitchen supplies, cookware, and many, many other conveniences are included. Jam out fireside on the acoustic guitar, play Nintendo classic games, and more!

Outras observações
We will provide you with a detailed Visitor Guide before your stay that includes frequently asked questions, safety info, WiFi/cell service information, and suggestions on places to eat, shop and explore. Some highlights:

* Just 3 miles to fishing and swimming in the Delaware River at Lordville bridge. Arrange fun tubing, canoeing or kayaking trips on the most beautiful stretch of river with your choice of two local outfitters. Eagle sightings are almost a certainty. Swim in the river (conditions permitting) from a nearby pebbly shoreline access point or drive 15 mins to Callicoon where you’ll find a 4WD accessible (or hike-in) sandy beach swimming area, boat launch. Boat rentals with round trip transportation service depart from Equinunk (Soaring Eagle Campground at Kellam Bridge) or Callicoon (Landers River Trips).

* Verizon LTE WiFi and Verizon Cell Service available at the cabin. Use your own cell phone, wifi hotspot, and data plan. If you do not have Verizon, you may connect to our mobile hotspot for checking email and making calls. If you end up streaming video or using loads of data, the hot spot will reach its monthly data allowance and will require topping up at the rate of $35 per 5 GB of LTE data which we will arrange and bill you for with prior discussion. You can track your data usage on the hotspot device status screen.

* Restaurants, bars, antiquing and adventure outfitters located nearby in Equinunk, Hancock and Callicoon. Most offer to-go meals and brews and some offer outdoor dining.

* Shop local instead of lugging a cooler or driving into town to a grocery store. The Equinunk General Store, less than 5 miles down the road, is a local gem and one-stop for everything you might need. Friendly proprietor Jutta (pronounced Utah) will hook you up. Local meats, eggs, dairy and small selection of farm veggies. Local ice cream. Decadent selection of homemade pastries and baked goods. Canned goods. Fishing tackle shop tucked in the back has night crawlers, jigs, lures, etc. And so so much more. Check their facebook page for updates and store hours.

* On-site hiking trails, campfire ring. Firewood is complementary.

* Common sense seasonal rules about fire safety (e.g. weather dependent burn bans) and local wildlife will be provided and must be followed.

* Anything else, please just ask! We love to share the magic of this area with newcomers and will go out of our way to make your stay unforgettable!

Located in the historic Pine Mill section of Equinunk, you will be located off a paved country road that meanders along a creek and through 9,200 acres of protected State Game Lands (PA SGL#159).

The driveway is long and quite steep but you do not need 4WD or an SUV. Small cars make it up just fine (we drove our Civic up for years). Take it slow coming off the road to avoid bottoming out.

An abundance of outdoor activities are at your doorstep, including: Delaware River tubing/boating, hiking, hunting, fishing, antique shops, and exploring the local eateries and watering holes where you'll meet the friendly locals.
