O espaço

This spacious and bright house is our family home. It is still a work in progress so there are some areas such as the hallway
And stairs that still need some work. This should not affect your stay, other than the bargain price!
There are 3 spacious bedrooms with multiple other sleeping options.
The house can cater well for larger groups. The large separate living room is another potential sleeping space if required.
This booking is only suitable for those who are able to live with an unfinished property, this is reflected in the price of the rental and the size of the property and proximity to amenities more than makes up for the minor imperfections.
Please discuss any reservations or specific requirements you may have before booking.

If Carlsberg did AirBnb….. There are two things apparent for any regular visitor to Gibraltar, the expensive cost of accommodation and the lack of space that is usually available. We were surprised at the bargain cost of this airbnb listing and the amount of space on offer and we wondered what the catch might be, an earlier visitor review had mentioned a mouse and alluded that the property might be dusty, the property owner had also been scrupulously honest in an email mentioning that the price reflected some renovation work that was still in progress. The correspondence with the owners was really good, they were warm, friendly and helpful and keen for us to maximize our enjoyment of their home. We entered a property that was unbelievably fantastic in every possible way. To describe it as a house is an understatement, this property forms a large portion of “The road to the lines” with so much space and light on so many different levels. Being in the upper town, the views from the living room and dining room are superb and the visitor is provided with a panorama of the entire town, there are several balconies where you can relax in the open, enjoy a glass of wine and read a book. There is some renovation taking place within the property to the landings and stairs but these do not detract in any way from the enjoyment of this house, the bedrooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable and the main bathroom alone is the size of a typical hotel room. The kitchen is well equipped with a great layout and a full sized dining room means that lots of visitors can easily be seated around a large farmhouse type table. Another super benefit are the glass curtain walls that fully open to give even more space, light and welcome breeze. The house design appears to be upside down but within a day you realize just how clever this design really is, bedrooms on the lower floor are cooler at night time and the upstairs living rooms provide wonderful views that would otherwise be wasted in a bedroom. We struggled to see how the last review could be justified as there was no dust and no trace of any mouse either, we did however find a monkey perched on the roof and another monkey visitor on the balcony which justified the owners warning to keep windows closed when the rooms were not in use. The only limitation to this property might be access, whilst the house is just above Casemates square, there are about 60 steps up to the property so this might not be ideal for very elderly or disabled visitors though there is a public escalator from Engineers lane which enables easier access to the property. On the flip side, after a 2 week stay and we all felt fitter and more trim than we were when we arrived. We had a wonderful time in Harrier house and...

Jess was nice and friendly when we met. She made an effort and left lovely flowers and a bottle of wine for our arrival. She was very prompt replying to a couple of messages that I sent about things I couldn't find or make it work in the house. The house is located very central in Gibraltar, close to casemates square. There isn't easy access by car, and only through a large set of stairs, for us was ok but it could be difficult for people with mobility difficulties. The house wasn't particularly well cleaned, a bit dusty and I don't believe the photos on airbnb reflect the real situation of the house. There are quite a lot or works going on more than was mentioned but she made a fair price for her rent as Gibraltar is very expensive. A lot of things didn't work properly in the house, you can however work around issues. I really recommend her to fix the TV cable, it is very dangerous as it is and it could short circuit at any time when people are out or sleeping. We were not happy as there were mice running around at night every now and then right in front of us even with the noise of 4 people. When I told her my concerns and enquired about this issue right at the start of our stay she sent me a not so nice message which was very upsetting when I only wanted more information but we quickly resolved things amicably and she was kind to offer our money back if we wanted to go elsewhere but we stayed as there wasn't any options available. Although Jess said she didn't have a problem with it, there are lots of mice poo behind the kitchen sofa and underneath the kitchen cupboards, along with food and random stuff that fell behind and was never cleaned up. There are monkeys that come by the kitchen windows and balcony, but they will only come in if you leave the area unattended and windows open as they are generally scared of people. We found very amusing seeing them close by and a lovely experience. In overall was an ok stay but would have been good to have had reviews before booking so none of this were a surprise.
