This is a professional/ commercial hotel, so it feels a bit strange writing an Airbnb review for it. Having said that: the service was impeccable and very friendly. Pick-up from the station, hand-written translations of the main hotel "rules", and most impressively: a personal private dining waitress. (Wow!) There was much more food than I could eat, and each individual dish was weird (in a good way) and interesting and delicious. Being in such a remote location only some of the staff spoke English but that's not a complaint! The room (actually more like a suite) was gorgeous and large with a lush view of the garden, and the sound of the rushing river. I loved wearing the beautiful yukata, too. I believe that I have learned a lot about onsen (& food) culture by having experienced it in this luxurious hot spring hotel. My only slightly negative comment would be that it felt as if this hotel had its best days behind it: it was very empty when I was there, and a few minor things around the baths were broken.
