We're excited to tell you about 3 Ridgeway which is set just 1 mile from Dartmoor, but still only 5 miles from the A38 and 8 miles from Exeter. The semi detached cottage is full of character, having origins in the 16th century and largely rebuilt in the early 20th century. The property is set within the small picture postcard village of Higher Ashton with its thatched cottages and village church.
Upon parking on the large gravelled drive, you can walk through the stable door into the sitting room with the beautiful woodburning stove for those chillier Datmoor nights. Steps lead up into the newly fitted kitchen/ breakfast room with large stove oven, but you'll be more amazed by the views to the countryside than the fitted appliances! The patio doors lead directly out on to the South Facing decking which is a truly stunning spot for your morning coffee.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, the master, the large triple and a smaller room with a bunkbed. You will also find the recently fitted bathroom with bath and shower over and underfloor heating. Whilst the cottage may be very old, it has all the modern day necessities to ensure a very comfortable stay, including central heating which can be a rarity in such a rural location. The cottage is simply beautiful, matched by the outside space!
You have your own 0.7 acres to explore, including a summerhouse with what must be one of the best views in Devon on a lovely Summer day! The large garden is mainly level with some gently sloping lawns. You will find a large number of mature fruit trees and even a children's climbing frame to keep the younger members of the family occupied.
We also have a former piggery in the garden! the pigs moved out a long time ago, and since then the space has been converted, offering a great breakaway space for use as an office, and even in the warmer months, can be used as extra sleeping space.

During school holidays, we request a minimum stay of 5 nights- changeover day flexible.
We have some lovely neighbours who are also our friends and we'd like to keep it this way, therefore if you're looking for a lively spot to host a loud party, Ridgeway isn't the house for you.
