If you're heading to downtown Montreal, I would highly recommend this place. For starters, the location is ideal - it is central to just about everything. You're within minutes walking distance to malls, grocery, restaurants, venues, cinema, or late night food. If for no other reason, I would go with the location here. You're minutes away from Old Montreal, from the Basilique Notre Dame, from Chinatown, and from the shopping district.
As for the home, the host takes great care of their place and ensures cleanliness. When I walked in, the room smelled fresh and everything was clean. The sheets were clean, floors were clean, and the counters sparkled. I didn't have any issues with it. There's a washer and dryer on site and a full kitchen. You have an indoor gym / sauna in the facility. The neighbors are quiet. (Hint: Please do the same and be respectful of the neighbors!). There are temperature controls all over the place, so I never once felt hot or cold.
My recommendation if you stay here is to also invest in a week-long bus pass. Using Montreal's transit system works out great, and this place is located conveniently off a couple of bus routes. It's worth every Canadian dollar. :) Speaking of Canadian dollars, there is a location nearby that does currency exchange, in case you're traveling to Canada from abroad.
I don't recall any negatives. I do know that because the building is tall, you will get louder wind on windy nights, but that wasn't enough to bother me. I never once heard any loud noises, people yelling outside, or anything like that. The neighborhood is safe. It was a pleasant stay and it allowed me to enjoy the trip without worrying about the location.
Water pressure was great in the bathroom, and the water did become hot or cold as needed. I never ran out of hot water. WiFi is provided for free, and it's extremely fast. I sent a screenshot of my speed to a friend in the US and they were jealous.
Finally, the host does communicate very well. He did provide me with step by step instructions for checking in and out, and inside the place there was a booklet that gave you details about everything that you needed. Every time I wrote to the host, he always promptly replied and was very courteous. I didn't need his help, but he was available for help if you were to get stuck in a situation.
My next trip to Montreal will be here again.
