Private entrance with private room in basement. Summer travels are perfect as it stays cool in the basement, and there's a deck with a hammock and chill area to relax on summer nights. In the cold and wet months, it's warm and cozy. The concrete ramp has been recently bowled in with hips and concrete coping. Small dogs are welcome ( under 25 lbs) and the place is 420 friendly. The place is close to downtown St. Johns, Cathedral Park, Pier Park and Forest Park.

O espaço
Welcome to St. Johns, a unique, quirky, up and coming neighborhood in the city of Portland. Our home is walking distance to Pier Park, world class Dreamland skatepark, Disc Golf course, Forest park, Cathedral Park, and downtown St. Johns, which has coffee shops, restaurants, bars, Farmers market and shopping.

My house is about 2 blocks away to the closest bus line and a 10 minute drive to the Yellow Max light rail line. By car it is a 5 minute drive to Forest park trails, and 15 minute drive to downtown, South East (Hawthorne) and North East (Alberta) neighborhoods. The Portland Airport (PDX) is a quick 15 minute drive from the house, and Sauvie's Island is less than a 15 minute drive.

The remodeled basement dwelling includes one private bedroom, hang out area, and a simple yoga studio. The basement bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the hang out space has a fold out couch which turns into a double bed ( Please let me know if you plan on using the couch so I can provide clean lining). There's flat screen TV with xfinity, wifi, concrete mini ramp that is getting bowled in the summer of 2019, free street parking, backyard with large deck, hammock and garden to enjoy in the summer. There's a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge downstairs, as well as a full upstairs kitchen and bathroom. There's a hair dryer, plenty of towels for showers, iron, and clean fresh linens for the beds and couch! I have a washer and dryer available as well. This place has it all, you won't have to go anywhere else!

Small (housebroken) dogs under 25 lbs are welcome, but not to be left unattended unless we've discussed it. There's a doggie door, and fenced in back yard. I have 2 small dogs that live in the house, but I keep them out of your way on your visit. Sorry this is strictly enforced about the dog size. One of my dogs is an asshole sometimes to bigger dogs.

My kitchen was just remodeled with butcher block countertops and white cabinetry which are not shown in the current photos.

If you skateboard, enjoy my custom built horse shoe min ramp with steel and concrete coping. It's getting an addition, so it will be a full bowl, with hips and concrete coping. Pier Park is less than a half mile away, with a world class skatepark, running trails, outdoor pool, disc golf course, playground, basketball court and tennis courts. Cathedral park, a great place to picnic or watch the sunset, is about a mile away, with stunning views of the St. Johns bridge and Willamette river. Forest Park with miles and miles of trails to hike, run or mountain bike is right across the St. Johns bridge. There's dispensaries right around the corner from my house too.

Acesso do hóspede

Localização

Portland, Oregon, Estados Unidos

Way up in North Portland, where the Willamette and Columbia rivers converge, sits a bastion of old-school cool. It’s a place where decades-old dive bars coexist with artists’ boutiques, where longshoremen from the nearby port sit side by side with 20-something creatives, and where you can catch a live band, play bingo or trot out your trivia at one of the many bars and pubs any night of the week. It’s this blend of tight-knit community and unpretentious charm that sets St. Johns apart. And with a recent boom in independent restaurants, breweries and coffee shops, there’s never been a better time to explore this eclectic neighborhood.

St. Johns feels slightly removed from the rest of Portland due to its location but the neighborhood provides a lot of green space and a sense of independence evidenced by its downtown area full of locally owned shops and small businesses serving its own residents. The neighborhood feels like a small town and very laid-back and friendly. St. Johns has long been a neighborhood for North Portland’s blue collar workers and diversity. According to 2010 census, the neighborhood is 60% non-white, which is a high number for racial diversity in Portland. You will see lots of Hispanics, African Americans and Asians in the neighborhood.

Johns neighborhood has a plenty of natural areas including Kelly Point Park, Pier Park, and Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area around Smith Lake, which is a huge lake that takes up about one third of St. Johns. Residents also enjoy kayaking and canoeing through Columbia Slough that connects St. Johns to areas near Portland International Airport. The most famous scene of St. Johns is probably the St. Johns Bridge that connects Cathedral Park to Linnton and Forest Park neighborhoods in Northwest Portland.
