Enjoy the charm of a rural hideaway located in a little hamlet amidst the Italian locals. We offer a complete house which sleeps five. Great view over the hills of Le Marche, mid-Italy, near the the Apennine mountains, 3 km from lovely village of Sarnano and 1 hr car drive from the Adriatic sea.
Our home is comfortable to stay in with two spacious double bedrooms on the lower first floor. You enter the house on the second floor directly into the spacious, well equipped kitchen. The living room right behind it has a cosy wood burner and comfy fauteuils and couch. There's a TV but with no connection. We did this on purpose so to maintain the quietness. We possess however a nice collection of movies, varying form Dutch, English/American films as well as French and Italian Art House movies. There's also a nice little library with mostly Dutch literary books and some English books. There's a little desk where you can concentrate on writing or whatever it takes to concentrate on. We have WiFi through the whole house which even reaches on the upper outside terrace. Through the hall you can reach the bathroom (with a view on the hills...) and the stairs down to the lower floor with two double bedrooms, both with windows and one of them giving access to the lower terrace. The first terrace is up in front of the house and gives you the best view. Superb spot to relax with your cappuccino in the morning soaking in the serene views.
During your stay you have full access to the whole house: kitchen, living, hall, bathroom, two bedrooms, two terraces and the area right around the house. Have a chat with the Italian neighbours and our British neighbour. Water and electricity are included. Bed linen is included, beds are made upon arrival.
NOTE ABOUT TOWELS: You can bring your own towels but we also have towels available for your personal use as well as for the kitchen.
The house will be available when we're out so you're being welcomed by friends of us upon arrival who will provide you the key, showing you around and giving some little assistance if necessary. But you can always reach us by phone or email.
We love the little hamlet of which our home makes part of. Our Italian neighbours are really the sweetest Italian seniors you can imagine and always happy to make a chat. The other three houses are owned by British of which one is inhabited permanently. (our British neighbour)
You need a car to reach our house, either your own or rented, which can easily provided for at Ancona or Pescara Airport. Once in Sarnano you can take local busses to nearly every town in the Macerata province. From Amandola (ca. 20 min. drive by car) you can even take the bus to Rome, which takes you there in 4 hours. The Adriatic sea is reached in 1 hour by car.
Are you a hiking or biking lover: well the Sibillini Mountains and the Nature Park by the same name provide endless opportunities to explore 'la campagna e la natura' by foot or wheels. Also by motorcycle the endless curving roads with magnificent views are a thrill to go about. Some highlights to visit: Lake Fiastra, ca . 20 min, Golla di Infernaccio, a lovely gorge to discover, the caves of Frasassi about 1,5 hours drive north and to the south the Piano Grande with the village of Castelluccio which presents you with an amazing view. Don't forget to explore the taste of the regional wines like the white Verdicchio and the red Piceno and indulge yourself in the local delicacies like the salamis, pecorino cheese, pasta di tartufo and the Marches version of lasagne: Le Vincigrasse. Njoy!

Two lovely terraces outside, to relax, have your coffee or outdoor meal enjoying the marvellous views over the rolling hills as far as the eye can reach...
Well, you know, it's our private home, in which you are more than welcome. What should we say more than please feel at home and leave the things the way you found them upon arrival. Be nice to our stuff and the surroundings and make us happy when we find our belongings at one piece when we're back again. Oh, and by the way: no smoking in and outside the house, no BBQ and no pets. Thanks and enjoy your stay!
