Tiny rustic cabin overlooking pond, with waterfall. Spectacular fall colours! Wood stove for winter and chilly nights. Outhouse + indoor bucket toilet for late night visits. SEASONAL running water. Queen sized bed. Seasonal outdoor shower. The perfect place to unwind from a busy life. 6.5 acres on the Little Bald Lake channel. Stroll through our forest, listen to the waterfall, sit on the porch, cook over the fire, and enjoy the serenity.

O espaço
The cabin is very simple but provides all the necessities. All bedding, towels, dishes, pots, pans, salt/pepper, tea and coffee provided. Fridge with small freezer, microwave, induction burner, toaster oven, BBQ. Lots of books, puzzles and games to keep busy during inclement weather plus a small TV with Netflix. The outhouse is about 40 feet from the cabin, however, for those not wanting to brave a chilly 3:00 a.m. bathroom visit, the cabin has a small washroom with a bucket toilet which can then be emptied in the morning.

A tiny woodstove heats the cabin and your water. We provide wood for this stove as it needs to be specially cut to 6" lengths. A private outdoor firepit is just outside the cabin. Please bring firewood.

We live in an ecologically sensitive area called "The Land Between",
an area of transition between the Canadian Shield and the St. Lawrence Lowlands. The property is largely untouched, so don't be surprised if you catch a glimpse of wildlife. Spotted here have been; deer, bear, raccoon, porcupine, fox, mink, marten, turkeys, turtles, snakes and blue spotted salamander. A small creek cuts through the property, which can be accessed by a trail. From the cabin you can just see the lake in the distance, as we are separated from the lake by a wet meadow providing the ultimate in privacy. The wet meadow is a maze of cattails full of blackbirds and blue herons. It's a wonder to kayak through.

In Winter, try ice fishing, skating, or snow shoeing, weather permitting. Snowmobile trails are close by or sled on the lake. Spring is the time for Trilliums, fiddle heads, wild leeks, and maple syrup. In summer, many guests choose to swim in the spring fed pond. It is cold, and filtered with native aquatic vegetation, such as cattails, bullrush and burrows tail. This pond is not chemically treated, so don't be surprised to find fish, frogs and maybe a water snake. For those who brave the waters, they feel refreshed and rejuvenated, as the waters are rich in minerals, soft and very friendly on the skin and hair. Fall colors are spectacular.

The address is 200 Northern Avenue, Trent Lakes, Ontario. Some GPS receivers will not find this address as the township recently changed their name. If this happens, try 200 Northern Avenue, Bobcaygeon, Ontario.

DIRECTIONS: From the 401 take the 115 to Lindsay and County Road 36 to Bobcaygeon. Halfway between Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn on County Rd 36 turn south onto Edwina Drive then East (left) on Northern to 200. Parking spot is just before the cabin on the left.

I am a lover of cooking and all things green and growing. My friends, family and beautiful grandchildren are the light of my life especially when they let me feed them.

Durante sua estadia

Our home is about 200 feet from the cabin. While we will respect your privacy, we're close by if you need us. Safety protocols and social distancing will be exercised at all times. We have a cat that will likely remain hidden, two dogs which may visit and 1/2 dozen chickens that love to eat peas!
