On the Amalfi Coast, Vietri sul Mare is the first village next to Salerno. The apt is in a QUIET neighborhood located in the HISTORIC CENTER of VsM. From here, you are minutes away to the beach, other coastal villages, Salerno, the Autostrade & popular destinations such as Pompeii.
I can accommodate up to 3 people, but no small children are allowed. My art studio in the living space is not child-safe. I have a large dog and a cat. It is not suitable for those with allergies to animals.
The apartment is located in a private, gated and secure villa in the historic center of Vietri. Although there are about 4-5 steps to enter the building, once inside there are no steps inside of the apartment which is located on the ground floor.
In the apartment, the common living room space is my art studio and is where I (and my pets) will sleep. At night I close off my sleeping area with a curtain for privacy.
You are welcome to share the space for the dining table. We will also share the terrace where there is a table outside and the bedroom has a 2nd door to access it.
The apartment was featured on HGTV's House Hunters International. I can tell you more about it when you arrive.
The bedroom will be private for your use and you can shut the door to keep the pets out. The bedroom has a real matrimonial (queen) size bed for 2. There is a rollaway single bed I will set up for when there is a 3rd person booked. Please keep in mind that it does crowd the room a bit when the extra bed is set up.
There will be some space in a section of the wardrobe if you want to hang clothing. The rest is full with storage items for the home.
No smoking is allowed.
During summer there isn't air-conditioning but the apartment remains rather cool receiving only late afternoon sun. An oscillating fan is provided for extra cooling and air circulation in your room. In winter there is central heating throughout the apartment to stay warm.
Ask if you need an earlier check-in, it will depend on my schedule if it is possible or you can leave your luggage while I finish preparing the home for your stay.
Late check-outs are usually not a problem. From July - September I work from home. October-June I am home in the mornings and go out for work in the afternoon-evenings.

When I'm home and if not busy working on a project, then I do enjoy socializing with others and swapping travel stories. I also operate a small tour business and can provide some info about travel in Italy. I can organize private guided activities in English that you can find on Inspiration Trips.
Coffee and tea will be available to guests. I enjoy baking sweets and will share any pastry or dessert items if I've made any.
You can use the kitchen if you want to cook your meals at home. Typical spices will be available, but you will provide your own food.
There are small markets and fruit/veggie stands for shopping nearby. There are also traditional fish markets, butcher shops, cheese shops, bakeries, pastry shops, plenty of cafes, and some clothing shops. Other services you might need such as a barber/hair dresser, pharmacies, banks, or basic household goods can also be found here.
I have some items you can borrow for the beach (blanket, beach towel, soft-sided cooler).

Ciao! I'm an American artist and teacher of English living in Italy. I love to travel and have been on some great adventures. I also run a small tour operation. So if you are interested in private guided tours or excursions, let me know and I'll see if I can set something up for you.
I'm a non-smoker and love animals. I sometimes travel with my dog and although she's a big girl (German Shepherd), she's really sweet, very good, and doesn't get on the furniture. She does well with children and other animals too. We also have a cat. If you are booking to stay with us, then I'm afraid it would be too much to bring your animal, but ask if you have a special need. Maybe we can work something out.
