Large yard with a fire ring, backed by a hardwood forest (beautiful in spring!), yet close to restaurants, breweries, wineries, beaches, kayaking, biking, hiking, boutiques, art galleries, culture. Ideal for couples and solo travelers. Attached to our woodworkers' showroom, so during daytime hours you may hear voices or music (always low-key). Best for low-key guests. Private entrance. Backyard fire ring. Room for boat trailer. Coffee provided. By highway, but not much traffic.
Morton's Retreat has plenty of room to relax in a sitting/dining room with a smart TV and Wifi. Separate bedroom has a desk. With your own entrance and parking, you'll hardly notice that the apartment is connected to our woodworkers' showroom/gallery. From 10 am to 5 pm, you may hear voices or music through the wall, but once we close for the evening you'll have the entire property to yourself. We are situated on Red Arrow Highway, so there is some traffic.

Our key box makes check-in a breeze. We live just ten minutes away, so can be there quickly should a problem arise.
We designed Morton's Retreat for one or two people, and prefer that our guests be low-key, particularly during our business hours. After our attached showroom closes for the evening (5 p.m.), you are free to turn up the music or TV as loud as you want. There are no neighbors nearby to be disturbed. We provide all of our guests with complimentary coffee, half-and-half, treats, and a couple of craft beers. Our House Manual details some of our favorite restaurants and things to do. We also provide a guide for the area's best hiking trails and breweries.

I'm lucky to be married to and working with the man of my dreams. Together, we own Center of the World Woodshop. Terry designs and makes furniture from locally harvested hardwoods, and I sell it in (along with the work of other local artisans) in our showroom.
Our Airbnb apartment is connected to our showroom, so during business hours (10 am to 5 pm), you might hear some music through the wall (eclectic and mellow) or occasional voices. But our store is low-key, and so is the neighborhood. Yes, it's on a highway, but a relatively quiet highway.
Terry and I love to travel, and while we're casual, we're particular about comfort, quality and aesthetics. Before opening the apartment to the public, we slept in it , cooked in it, showered in it, spent an evening in the private yard (which is backed by a forest) and then tweaked it, to make it the best we possibly could. So yeah, we think it's pretty nice. Not luxurious, but cozy, comfortable, inviting.
We provide our guests with guidebooks and an events calendar, and some locally roasted coffee to get your day off to a great start.
