The Kanien’keha:ka Roundhouse… So much to be grateful for. From my first communication with Mr. Paul Marc Leclerc, we were sold. We had a concern about our booking do to some family issues and a potential emergency we were facing. Paul addressed our concerns with understanding and compassion. With his commitment, booking a week-long stay came with peace of mind and heart. Thank you Paul. We scheduled our arrival and texted Paul that we were running late. Getting to the roundhouse we were greeted by Paul’s sister “Dee” who welcomed us kindly. She took her time to show the entire home with the simple do’s and don’t that make country living easier on the residence and the property. It wasn’t until the next day that my cell phone showed the “late arrival text message” never made it to Paul…so the good sportsman like conduct award goes to Dee who lives nearly an hour away for her patience and still pleasant demeanour. The Roundhouse. What can be said? Our booking can be considered a little out of season, so the pool was closed and the gazebo readied for the winter season. However, there is shortage shade to take cover under and sit, relax, read and/or just enjoy the view and sounds of nature. The house itself is utterly amazing. Its unique architecture is a wonder on its own. The décor is an eclectic mash up of elegance that meets comfort that meets music history and tells a story about the owner. The open concept design means that family is enjoyed, no matter what time it is, be that of meal preparation or other. We took advantage of both the indoor fireplace, the outdoor fire pit and the BBQ. Beds are comfortable, linens clean, a full complement of bath towels and clothes were provided…you didn’t need a thing. Even the kitchen had more than we could have anticipated and we were welcomed to help ourselves to any and everything. We did pinch a little dill for a potato salad...yum. Overall, this is an amazing place. If you are looking for a quality spot to stay, I certainly recommend the Roundhouse for its comfort, location, and the hosts! (Thank you Paul and Dee.) I can’t imagine any Airbnb’r could be disappointed. Due to the nature of the reason why we were in the area, we spent a lot of time away from the home, caring for family. This makes good reason for our future return, and we look forward to meeting Paul and seeing Dee. Thank you for complementing our stay with your great property. In a rather stressful time we found the comfort we needed, to unplug and put life into perspective. With kindest regards and appreciation, Glen, Tracey and Tatiana

This was our family's first experience booking an Airbnb. It definitely exceeded our expectations and staying in a home is 1,000 times more comfortable than staying in a hotel. The Roundhouse was cozy and just perfect for us. I was expecting it to feel small but it was not. It's surprisingly large and so well laid out. We found it to be quite pleasing. The pool was the perfect size for our two children (10 and 11). We spent a lot of our time just relaxing by the pool. The kids created all kinds of fun games to amuse themselves. They also threw the football around too. It was great to disconnect and reconnect as a family. Paul Marc was very helpful and gracious. He has every light switch labelled and all the instructions readily available. What I was impressed with is he also had tons of information about things we might be interested in about the surrounding area - pamphlets, magazines, restaurant menus. He even set out movies the kids might enjoy as well as the Walmart back to school magazine which I flipped through. My daughter and I watched Mama Mia for the first time and loved it. All in all we fell in love with the Roundhouse and the nature reserve and found it hard to leave. It felt like home. There is a bird on the nature reserve that we heard each day. It makes cewing noise, almost like a dove. We've heard the same bird when we were in Cuba. My husband really loves listening to the bird. We'd love to know what kind of bird it is.

The home was beautifully built. The pool had to have been the highlight of our stay. I would recommend other families to come out and stay at the round house.

A great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. we stayed with our two kids (2 and 5) for 3 nights, and had a wonderful welcome by Paul-Marc in the house. The house is clean, enjoyable with its round shape and with a beautiful garden, and swimming pool. The inside decoration is very entertaining with strong musical footprint which makes it very enjoyable and original. Marc was also very helpful for us after we left, as we forgot one element and he sent it us back to Paris without hesitation! Thanks again Paul Marc.

What an amazing place! We felt as if we had stepped into a hands-on museum. Musical history and indigenous culture pieces are abundant. We spent quite some time simply taking it all in. It really is as beautiful as the photos! The Roundhouse information book provided knowledge about the house itself, the local area and the indigenous people; perfect for reading with coffee our first morning. Upon check in Paul and his sister welcomed us and immediately made us feel like this was our place and they were friends showing us around. Paul apologized for the TV only receiving one channel; however there is a well-stocked library, DVD and CD collection which kept us entertained during down time. We were sad that we didn’t get to wander the trails on the property. Due to the recent weather there was a high possibility of ticks carrying Lyme disease. However, the pool and outdoor fire pit were used quite well. The wrapping veranda is perfect for a book and morning coffee. We loved that all the wall switches were labeled! No hunting for which switch turns on which lights or fans. The beds in both bedrooms were quite comfortable. Plenty of soft and fluffy towels in both washrooms as well. The kitchen is well stocked with almost everything I needed to cook for a family of 4. All I had to add was a quick trip to the grocery store which is 15 minutes away. The best review I can give is to say that on our final day during our packing the kids asked if we could come back every year. I’d have to agree with them. The Roundhouse is a hidden gem. You’ll be glad you stayed here!

I am a Mohawk Canadian who was born in the United Kingdom. My father was French-Canadian. My daughter is Danish. My "significant others" have have been British (English & Scottish), Dutch, Danish, German, Swiss & Polish. I have lived in 10 countries, (England, Canada, United States, The Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Turkey, France, Southern African nations & Southeast Asian nations), and I have experienced life, at length, in another 45 other countries. But, I resettled in Canada 11 years ago. "Don't Dream It, Be It!" is my life motto. So, I became, in this order, a world traveller; a travel agent & guide; a radio broadcaster; a rock singer & bass guitarist; a father; an English teacher; a sailing yachtsman; a beach bum; an alpine ski & snowboard guide and a music school manager. The diversity which has defined my life leads me to embrace and welcome everyone to my home.
