daigo's place retains a very rural charm whilst still having modern conveniences. it was perfect for our family. it is a cosy place so would not be ideal for anyone too big! you also need a car to really explore the region well as dining options are a little distance away

Such a beautiful house, in a beautiful part of the world. Daigo was a great host and we spent 3 cosy nights enjoying the charms of this old place. Particularly liked the coffee setup, the neighbours honey, the local kitayatsu ham and what must be the best bed in Japan. Thanks Daigo!

We had an amazing time in the house of Daigo. It is renovated with high quality and with great detail, which makes the atmosphere in combination with the beautiful garden and surroundings serene and peaceful. We rented a car which made it very easy to see things around and go for groceries. Would recommend renting a car.

Daigo is a true craftsman- the cabin is beautiful! We stayed for four nights, just took a long break, cooked, read, and stayed in. We wish we could have stayed for even longer. Daigo was so friendly, took us to the market (twice as the farmers market was closed when we arrived), told us about the area, and even brought us some veggies from their garden. Highly recommend!

This is a really special place. Daigo and his wife Haruka are so friendly and warm, and it comes through in the lovely cabin they've built in the forest. It's a great place to relax and unwind, with spectacular scenery all around. If you do need to stay connected, wifi is great here. It's pretty remote, the surrounding area only has a tiny shop for essentials and a couple of vending machines, but we went to the supermarket on the way and Haruka took us back for another trip during our four-night stay. There are really pretty walks in the area - head up the steps to the shrine in the forest if you get a chance, so peaceful. Worth the trip! Also, the koumi train line that takes you to the local train station is worth exploring too as a day trip, it runs along some of the highest tracks in Japan.
