Read the other reviews, for the most part, they are accurate. Looks also at the pictures, which are a correct representation of what to expect. Mt Desert Island was not that far for us and we even enjoyed the Western (quiet) side more even though it is further away. Specific circumstances made this a trip for two plus a dog, but don't shy about being 6-8. We found serenity and spent one day locally during a week stay and enjoyed that a lot. Check out the deer on or near premises (and wild turkeys nearby). I liked the many decorative touches such as rugs, frames, maps, classic books, vintage kitchenware such as ice cream scoop, wooden birds on shelves, etc, which add proper charm to the vintage farm; this is a man writing by the way.

My husband and I and family stayed in Michelle's home for a week and loved everything about the home! It's a beautiful old home that provides an area that is quiet and secluded and a short walk to a beautiful coastline! We love staying here I would encourage anyone to also rent this home! Take advantage of Michelle's knowledge of the local area, We did for food, things to do, and sites to see. With no regrets and only fun experiences!

The red farmhouse has so much character and was just perfect for our family vacation. From the board games to the puzzles, the nearby hikes and the beautiful yard to pick blueberries, it was all perfect. It was central to Acadia but away from the hussle of the island. Schoodic Point, the less congested side of Acadia, was a short 20 minutes drive. Michelle was a wonderful host, she was onsite yet was not intrusive at all. We wound up meeting up with her and her adorable, sweet dog for a hike around the area. We had our little dog as well and he enjoyed having a friend to hike with. As we left on our final morning, we left with nothing but smiles and wonderful memories. We highly recommend Michelle's place, you will not be disappointed!

We knew we were "home" when we pulled into the winding wooded path with a beautifully lit storybook farmhouse waiting for us at the end of the Rd. The house, property and location were just perfect for us. We were close enough to everything yet protected from the tourist invasion that hits Bar Harbor in July. Michelle is an amazing host - the house is immaculate and the hospitality was incredible. Thank you for making this one of our most memorable vacations -- we can't wait to return!

Our grand-son wanted a picture of his bedroom, to always remember it, and the girls loved their room with the special desk. Staying at the red farmhouse made our Maine vacation perfect!

Perfil do usuário de MichelleMichelle é um superhost.

I grew up in the Southwest and spent a year in Germany after college. Now I live in the northern U.S. where we have four beautiful seasons but still not enough snow. I love to cook, knit, read, hike, camp, kayak, bike, travel, watch movies, listen to all kinds of music, and spend time with my family.

As a host, I try to be unobtrusive, but if asked the right questions, I can become very enthusiastic about the many great things to see and do in Down East Maine.

Carpe diem.
