Short-term rental license
The City of Indio requires that only a Host’s primary residence is rented as a short-term rental. Further, short-term rentals are only allowed in residential single or multi-family zones.
Registration is required to host short-term stays in Indio. To continue hosting, fill out and submit part 1 and part 2 of Indio’s Short-term permit application. The mail/drop off address is indicated on the top of part 1. After you submit both forms, you should receive your short-term rental permit number from the city by email or mail.
Hosts are required to display their short-term rental permit number on any listing advertisement.

If you host a hotel, motel or bed and breakfast, your listing is exempt from registration, but you’ll still need to claim an exemption through Airbnb to comply. This is free of cost.
As part of the application process, all Hosts must submit proof that this residence is their primary residence, provide emergency contact information, and be available for 24-hour response within one hour. The application fee is $100.
