O que você fará

We'll start with a tour of the property and discuss passive solar design and watershed management principles—key parts to starting a homestead. Afterwards we'll venture out further to explore the gardens, greenhouses, orchard, pastures and learn about creating an integrated land management strategy that both feeds people and nurrishes the land. We have over 30 varieties of fruit and nut bearing trees and bushes and are expanding our biodiversity every year.

Guests will engage in a hands on activity after the tour, which could be in the garden, working with the animals or in the orchard.

We'll finish with sun brewed mint tea and a chat to help you gain a more global perspective of off-grid permaculture homesteading.

Conor had been gardening and exploring permaculture techniques for over ten years and expirementing with alternative energy for 20 years (from using wvo to photovoltaic power for the home.).

Dominique Monnier is an avid gardener, environmental technician and backcountry lodge cook. She uses our veggies and pork to provide backcountry skiing lodge guests with a farm to table experience.

During your visit to our off-grid permaculture homestead you will have the chance to view and learn about natural farming methods, pasture raised pigs, terrace building, rain water harvesting, orchards, berry crops, hugulkultur, composting, composting to generate hot water, passive solar design, composting toilets, sustainable logging, mushroom cultivation, soil building, propagating plants and trees, living fences and paddock system.

The workshop will take place on our homestead, which is just over four acres of gardens, forest, orchards and pasture. Every year it becomes a more hospitable place for us, hard labour yields fruit and sustanence. Here you'll see it is true that you reap what you sow.
