The class includes meditation, gentle movement, and mantra; the focus is how to approach food not just as fuel for our body, but as the substance for our mind, our emotions, and our soul. We will discuss not just What to eat, but When, Where, and How, because your long-term health depends on it! One of the most important steps we can take in our self-care journey is changing how we approach food. Changing our relationship to how we prepare and eat our daily nourishment can make a huge difference in our long-term health.
Many of my clients are intimidated or confused about the what, when, where, and how of food. I can help you figure it all out! From what to stock in your kitchen to the basics of Ayurvedic cooking and nutrition, you can change your relationship to food.
I will demonstrate how to prepare the classic Ayurvedic detox dish "kitchari", which is the foundation for understanding Ayurveda's approach to Digestion (Agni). We will also discuss some important guidelines for mindful eating.
Due to Covid19 restrictions, guests cannot participate in cooking or eating on-site, but you can take the dish home after class.

Other things to note
This class is your first step towards long term self-care, giving you the tools and knowledge to eat mindfully, cook mindfully, and live mindfully! No yoga experience necessary.

It was my birthday, and I wanted to do something different with my husband. This experience was a package of all the things that I wanted to do with him. Ileana's house is beautiful, and we spent most of our time in a lovely room, with the view of beautiful trees having tea and learning with her. Ileana is very knowledgeable and was very passionate about the Ayurveda system of medicine. I knew very little about it but really enjoyed to learn about the "Ayuvedic Clock." It is so much to process that I am still experiencing what I learned daily. Definitely, an experience that goes beyond the time that we had together. Then we did yoga and meditation, and It felt good to move and relax. We moved to the kitchen downstairs, where we helped her to cook the kitchari, and it took about 20 minutes. The kitchari was delicious!!

First, I didn’t know anything about Ayurveda. Now, thanks to this experience, I can have a basic conversation with somebody about the subject and apply some of the concepts to my day to day life. The subject is interesting. The space was welcoming and VERY clean. Ileana was nice was open to provide the class in Spanish for me. We learned some basic concepts followed by a short movement (yoga) session, and finished the afternoon with the preparation of a delicious plate of Kitchari. We continued our conversation while eating with Ileana. Peaceful and insightful.

I brought my girlfriend here for our one year anniversary and it was perfect. She adored the instructor and experience. Ileana set up the class to perfectly introduce ayurvedic teachings and integrated a lot of different aspects. (Background information, yoga, and sharing/cooking a meal with a very interesting guidelines.) Perfect for couples and groups. Wear comfortable clothes.

A really wonderful experience! This was the first 'date' for my girlfriend and I, and it was super memorable and special. Ileana has extensive knowledge about the subject, she answered any questions I had (of which there are always many), we did some relaxing yoga, and made some really tasty food. We really connected with Ileana too! We had some great conversations about life and relationships whilst eating the food we'd prepared, and felt like we became good friends in the short time we were together during the experience. Ileana is great! She's a wonderful intro to ayurveda and extremely knowledgeable across wellbeing fields: physical, emotional, mental. Highly recommend.
