Just booked in Detroit

Just booked in Detroit
Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • We enjoyed our three-night stay in Thane's loft. To begin with Thane was very welcoming, accommodating and flexible. For example, our flight arrived around noon and he allowed us to come to the apartment well before the normal 'check-in' time. His recommendations for driving tours, restaurants and other cool places were much appreciated. He also lent us a few very helpful guides and brochures. The building and the loft are great. The large east- and west-facing windows let in loads of sun and afford sweeping views of the riverfront and Belle Isle. Fortunately there was ample sun during our stay so we experienced the loft at its best. And yes, the bed is fantastic. The loft is well located in the city with quick access to many sights, downtown and various interesting neighborhoods. As Thane mentions in his description, the ceiling is thin and we were in fact surprised at just how much noise came through from upstairs neighbors, but fortunately we were out visiting Detroit most of the time. Only other weak point: Thane might wish to find a more professional cleaning person as the loft really could have used a good vacuuming and dusting. But perhaps he didn't have time to do so given our early 'check in'?.

    Richard2015-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Both Thane and his mom were there to welcome us when we arrived and provided us with great tips and resources. We loved the stocked kitchen, the availability of the bikes (which were put to good use), and the location. We spent a ton of time each evening on the river walk. Both the loft and the building itself were awesome! The only recommendations we might make for future guests are earplugs if you are light sleepers since you can hear footsteps from the apartment upstairs (although for those of you accustomed to apartment living, this will be no big deal and it certainly is not something that lasts all night) and maybe an eye mask for any guests that sleep in the living room since some, but not all, of the beautiful windows do not have curtains. Overall, just an amazing stay and such a great start to our vacation in Michigan this summer! Thanks so much!!!

    Todd2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for the races on Belle isle and we could see the track from the window. It was a quick Lyft to downtown also. Walls are literally paper thin. Everything going on outside sounds like it is happening in your room. We had a good stay overall though.

  • Perfect Detroit loft experience!! We loved Thanes place. So much history and character :) Aaand a Detroit river view to top it off. Can't say enough wonderful things about this place and Kathy! So glad we chose this place.

    Kelly2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space. It was pretty much everything you could ask for in an airbnb.

    Dougal2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay here! They were so welcoming and made sure I had a good experience. Since it was so cold I loved staying at the loft. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing is the thin walls and the people above, but that's nothing they can control.

    Shannon2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thane's loft was beautiful - great view of the river and nice airy, open space. Great location right off of Jefferson and lots of options on things to do in Detroit. Bed was very comfortable and the AC in the bedroom kept it quite cool on some hot days in Detroit. Communication with Thane was easy and very quick.

    Claire2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was able to meet me at the door and give me some great tips for my visit. She was super responsive in all communications leading up to the visit. The loft is very hip and comfortable. The upstairs neighbors are a bit noise, but that was mentioned in the description so I knew ahead of time. Not a big deal. I loved the access to the bikes and the awesome riverwalk. Overall, a great stay!

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.
  • I can't even begin to explain how awesome Jesse's loft was. Super accurately pictured in the photos. Also, his recommendations were ON POINT. Jesse was super attentive and communicated well. I basically wanted to live there forever haha the location was great and parking was a breeze. Can't wait to visit again! Detroit is easily one of my favorite cities!

  • jesse was very friendly and a great and fast communicator. when we had questions he would answer very fast, which made our stay very comfortable. the loft was great! very stylish and clean. definitely one airbnb experience we will not forget.

    Alexander2015-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse was perfection! I loved how he made it really easy and understandable on how to get in to the loft and where to park. Very clear communication. He was a perfect balance of reaching out to us via text (my preferred communication) at the beginning to see if we needed anything at all, including recommendations, and then also checking in at the end of our trip to make sure everything went well. It was obvious he was there for us if we needed him but also let us be so we could relax and enjoy our trip. The loft was perfect in every way for us. The photos represent well. I was so comfortable immediately. Loved the cute Detroit touches in the loft and listening to the Motown records on his turntable. I have the same exact one at home! I was able to rest well. It was quiet, cute, safe and comfy. Perfect location to everything and easy parking. I come back to Detroit once a year to visit my family and I would book this loft again in a heartbeat!

  • Beautifully decorated in antiques and Deteoit memorabilia. But all modern comforts including TV and speakers for your phone to play music on.

  • A great experience. Jesse is a great host and has created a fun and stylish loft. Very safe next to the Wayne State Police station. Close to the Qline giving easy access To all the downtown attractions. We will continue to use on a regular basis.

    Ronald2018-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Hip loft with a mid century vibe in a quiet, but convenient and accessible neighborhood. Would highly recommend it!

    kate2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect 2 night stay at the Detroit Loft. Space is lovely and pictures accurately capture the overall space. Jesse is a rock star when it comes to communicating with his guests - super reliable and accommodating. Thanks again Jesse! For my fellow air bnb guests - stay here! Bed is comfortable, apartment is super peaceful/quiet, record player is fun, location is great (safe, accessible, etc). Would def stay here again!

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Hosts were very accommodating - set up a great air mattress for us and let us drop off our bags before our check in time. Quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again.

    Keith2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Renee and Zac's Airbnb was wonderful! We were delighted by how incredibly spacious, light filled and peaceful the apartment is. You can't help but to feel relaxed when you're spending time here. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful as well. Everything was clean, and communication clear. If you're someone who enjoys renovation, Be sure to ask Zac and Renee for a tour. You will see that they are putting their own personal stamp in the area. Right now their wild flowers are blooming on their side lot. Beautiful!

    Robert2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at Zac and Renee's apartment! I booked this apartment because I needed a place to photograph some portraits indoor's...and this apartment was a dream! Full of natural light, and decorated/designed so uniquely! My husband and I stayed that night, even though we only live 45 minutes away. It was so close to our favorite midtown bars, and perfect for a night away from home. It was great to spend some time in Detroit and not have to worry about the usual long drive home. The neighborhood was quiet, and felt safe. I didn't meet Zac and Renee while I was there, but they made it known that they we could call at anytime if we needed anything.

    Anna2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • This home through the pictures does not do it in justice. It is a thousand times better in real life. The detail and the homey feel you get there is unbelievable. The art and decoration literally inspired me to come home and do a renovation. A must stay if you're in Detroit. It's only a 5 minutes car ride to the middle of Downtowns Detroit.

    Trae2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the decor and authenticity of Zac and Renee's place. We went there to experience Detroit and we got just that. The apartment is very spacious and full of light, just as promised, and in close proximity to everything. Although this is a very up-and-coming neighborhood, at night we were worried a bit about the safety of the car. However, nothing happened. Overall, we had a lovely stay .

    Olta2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place in a great location! It had everything we could possibly need and was a perfect introduction to Detroit. We hope to be back soon!

    Heather2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best mini-moon/honeymoon imaginable here. The apartment is gorgeous, secluded but within walking distance of everything - downtown, Corktown, the Art Institute, vegan hotdogs at the UFO factory, excellent coffee at Great Lakes and Astro. We cannot recommend staying here enough. Our hosts gave us privacy but were there whenever we had any questions. The cat Taco is the sweetest cat on earth but independent too. Stay here! It is everything you could want and more.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • beautiful place great area

  • The flat is great, and so is the location. Roomy and clean and beautiful — highly recommended!

    Pierre-Alexandre2013-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Me, my husband and a couple of friends were in town for a wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, very centrally located and super cozy. If you're a light sleeper, one of the beds is really creeky but other than that, the place is fantastic! I'd highly recommend it.

    Aimee2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredible loft in an incredible location. Clean, stylish, and close to everywhere you want to be! Meghan is a great host, too! Highly recommend.

    J.J.2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was professional and quick to respond to all my questions. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, well furnished and well appointed. However it has an odd layout with an internal bedroom, it is also between two busy roads (the noise of the air-conditioning fans drowns out most of the sound of the traffic), and the kitchen lacked some items of equipment. More for young professionals perhaps than young families. So, on the whole we felt it was slightly over priced at $215 plus a $50 cleaning fee. I guess there aren't very many people providing similar suitable accommodation in Detroit. The area was interesting, though the local trendy bars and cafe's etc all felt expensive and decadent in comparison to the rest of Detroit.

    Tom & Jaqui2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with a lot around to do.

    Matt2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The space was absolutely beautiful, and Meghan provided LOTS of thoughtful recommendations about what to do, see, where to eat in Detroit, how to travel/park. Truly she thought of everything. You couldn't ask for a better location - right in the center of a block of Corktown where there is lots to see. If you are looking to get a good sense of Corktown, stay here and spend some time in the neighborhood; you will learn a lot, eat/drink really well, and at the end of the day, go back to a super comfortable apt.

    Dani2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great space in a really cool part of Detroit. Beautifully designed space, plenty of room, even a nice outdoor area. Within walking distance of many restaurants and bars, and a great coffee shop right downstairs. Only stayed one night but wish I could have stayed longer and will most definitely return. Highly recommended.

  • We had rented out the entire Chaps Lofts building, 12 units, from Friday to Monday for our family and out of town friends to stay during our wedding weekend. It worked out fantastic! Kyle walked me through the check in process for each room on Thursday when we checked in a day early for 2 units. He also took the time to go over details of beds and bathrooms for each unit based on my notes taken from each Airbnb listing so I could accurately assign rooms per group. Each and every guest LOVED the lofts. There were plenty of good, quality towels provided as well as nice linens for the beds. Even with couples & friends pairing up to share units, they all felt comfortable and safe. Since my family was staying there as well with small children, safety was a concern. Kyle took time in advance of our weekend booking to meet my parents and walk them through a unit to let them know what this place was all about. He also fielded all calls / questions after that meeting from my Dad who isn't used to this type of overnight stays. Since this area is a little off the downtown area, I would definitely prepare to have a car or plan for Uber to get around. Luckily there is secure parking in which we had no problems parking cars safely over the weekend. Overall, the lofts are spacious, clean, comfortable and we felt safe there. I hope we get the opportunity to stay again sometime. They made the weekend a complete success!

    Michelle2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute booking but Kyle was very fast to respond and have all taken care of emediatly. His place is beautiful, tastefully decorated, very clean and beds are super comfortable. The hands off check in/out was a breeze and fenced in parking lot very safe and secured. Absolutely recommend and will book soon again !! Thank you Kyle.

  • Kyle did great, we had a blast!

    Will2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun experience at Kyle's place! We absolutely love this loft! Very spacious and clean, and the layout was just fun for our kids. Checking in and out was also very easy. I definitely will recommend it to my friends.

    Lili2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We found the location easy to get downtown by Q line or car. The loft was comfortable and it was nice to have a full kitchen stocked well with the basic utensils needed. Bring your sleep mask or extra pillows to cover your head if you don't want to rise with the sun as there are no window coverings. Other than that, it was a great place to stay and I already plan on returning soon!

    Cindy2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay at Kyle 's loft. We had a lot of space since we were only 3 guests. The beds are comfortable. The room is filled with natural light during the day. The loft is well located, not far from the tramway on Woodward avenue. I wouldn't hesitate to come back with a little more people.

    Michèle2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's apartment is lovely. The apartment has high ceilings and huge windows. It is bright, airy, and very spacious. There is so much space it was very easy to roll out my travel yoga mat and practice in the morning light. A real treat! If you are a business traveler, you might want to bear that in mind that the apartment does not have a good work space. There is no desk or a table that could function as a desk. Overall, the furniture was on the shabby side with some stains and fraying that made it hard to relax and feel at home. But, again, the apartment is spectacular, and Kyle is an excellent host. He is very quick to response to questions and concerns. The toilet was broken when I arrived, and he send someone immediately to fix it! So attentive and speedy! He made checkin and checkout a breeze! Thank you, Kyle for an excellent stay!

Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • Sarah's studio is a great place to stay, it's exactly as pictured in the listing. The keyless entry made checking in a breeze and any questions were answered quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Detroit.

  • Jacquelyne's apartment is bright and comfortable and the location is fabulous with plenty of on street parking. I walked to Whole Foods every morning and walked the neighborhood just to sight see the unbelievable architecture. Great stay, definitely would stay here again.

  • For those who want a a well appointed home base in the middle of what is happening in Detroit, this is your place. Lots of places nearby to walk to. Dining, drinking, nightlife, music, the DIA, Wayne State, Orchestral Hall, pro sports and more are all a short walk away. Parking is readily available. It’s a safe, quiet and comfy spot. Our favorite bakery/cafe, Avalon is one block away too. Great way to start every day in Detroit. The hosts live in the building too which is a plus.

  • This apartment is awesome. It was super centrally located. It's about two blocks from a bunch of great shops, restaurants, and breweries. The art museums are within walking distance, and the neighborhood is well-traveled and vibrant. The apartment itself is as described, brand-new, and very well appointed. Highly recommended!

  • Great little studio in Midtown with fun restaurants and bars within a few blocks. Apartment was clean and looked just like the pictures and the keypad entry was very convenient.

  • Staying at Sarah's was great! I had a couple questions before we went and when we were leaving...she was quick to answer. Her studio was just like the picture and perfect for our stay. Loved having the washer & dryer! We were able to find a market and good places to eat close by. Would definitely recommend.

  • I feel like I discovered a new category of Airbnbs - all of the perks of an airbnb with the feel of a hotel. Everything is well considered in the studio down to the Le Creuset French Press. The bed is super comfortable and the setting with the bay windows makes it a lovely place to lounge. The location is pretty perfect for a visit to Detroit with places to eat and shop as well as museums within walking distance.

    Sherry2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • my boyfriend and i really enjoyed our stay. mark and jacquelyne were really helpful - quick to get back to us if we had any questions and provided a great list of neighborhood recommendations. studio was in the perfect location - great restaurants and bars, around the corner from a whole foods and mogo bike rental station. will definitely stay here again when we come back!

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • Matt and Meredith's apartment was a wonderful refuge for my boyfriend and I when we came to Detroit to visit family. It is exactly as the pictures depict. We had space to cook, eat and relax. Matt was very helpful, giving recommendations when we asked and welcoming us to the apartment. The details of the space make it all the more comfortable!... plenty of towels, coffee, housewares, etc. The apartment is located in a safe neighborhood with a very diverse grocery store just across the street. I would highly recommend Matt and Meredith's apartment to anyone visiting Detroit, especially if you want to stay in a neighborhood and not just downtown.

    Breanna2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean, and comfortable stay! Our experience at Matt and Meredith's place was exactly what we expected and more. Even though we didn't meet them we felt welcomed, supported, and excited about our visit. They provided a customized list of weekend activities before arriving. Getting access into their place was easy. When we arrived there was a delicious bottle of wine waiting for us. Great touch! We also enjoyed hanging outside in their backyard - wine at sunset and coffee in the morning. If we needed anything, they were available. Communication was seamless! Definitely recommend them because they care about your experience. Thanks again!

  • This apartment is the cutest little space I’ve ever been in! M&M were very responsive and helpful, even lending us a board game from their personal collection. Amenities were great, and the little touches made this space feel welcoming and homey.

  • Matt is an awesome host. He meet us and helped to carry our bags up to the flat. Greeting us was a vase of fresh picked flower and a bottle of red wine. Matt was super welcoming, answered all of our questions about his favorite places and Hamtramack and Detroit in general. The flat was clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The bed was super comfy. Everything about the flat was perfect! Detroit meets mid century meets historic house. We would stay again next time we are in the area. Cheers for Matt and Meredith!

    Sherry2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! It was spacious, clean, well-decorated and the hosts were very helpful.

  • This is really a great place to stay. This apartment is what I wish mine was like. I'd live there all the time if I could. My wife and I were in town for a wedding and Matt and Meredith had excellent suggestions for things we could do in our free time. We had a great breakfast, some good beer, and some sightseeing all within a short drive. I would definitely stay here again!

    Craig2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Meredith and Matthew's flat was clean, lovely, and easy! Their renovated space is beautiful, and they provided everything we needed: plenty of coffee, towels, and recommendations for a great weekend in Hamtramck & Detroit. Will definitely stay here again.

Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors and pillars, and steam pipes are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area 3-8 minute drive to Midtown, Eastern Market, Hamtramck and Downtown. 1 mile to Q line and very bike friendly as you can get to many places easily!
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. It’s ideal for couples and solo travelers. The loft area is currently off limits for sleep (the heat rises and stays too warm up there), so those booking should ideally be able to share the full mattress or be ok with sleeping on the sofa or a twin air mattress. WiFi Fully equipped kitchen Private entrance in the parking lot Sleeping arrangements: Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress Sofa- for 1 (not too tall) Twin air mattress Twin bed — off limits for winter
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants ~ The loft is located in an old industrial and unique neighborhood. Many of the plots and buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens and music venues. The area is safe and so is the building, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • So happy I found this place. It's an adventure inside and out. This is a must see, and will be going back again.

    Keri2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia’s place was fantastic. Her description of the location and everything were 100% accurate. Quick Uber ride to greektown, my girlfriend and I really appreciated the hospitality. Would stay here again!

    Frank2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this quirky space, the hammocks and decorations were amazing. It has so much character! We did have some issues with the location, we found it to be quite a shady area with quite a lot of gangs loitering under the bridge, smoking pot and drinking. We definitely didn't feel safe enough to walk to public transport and had several issues with taxi's not being able to find the location when bringing us back. The Wi-Fi is shared so barely worked at all which wasn't ideal as we aren't from America and so couldn't use our regular cell plans. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle and have some switched off time in an amazing space, this is for you. If you're looking for somewhere to crash after exploring Detroit, I'd advise somewhere a little more central.

    Tina2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and great mood! Would definitely do it again

    Joe2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had to leave the apartment because the steam pipes that feed the entire building run through the inside of the apartment and were very loud at late hours which did not let me sleep. The apartment looks great, and the host was very accommodating; however, if you would like to stay here at winter time be aware of the noise.

    Christopher2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia’s place is super cool. But. As she herself states - the winter stay there gets HOT! We did find it uncomfortable and noisy. Fortunately Georgia was quick to answer any questions or concerns we had, but we did end up cutting our stay short. I would love to come back and stay here in the summer time. Bumbo’s is a great local bar near by I would totally recommend visiting.

    Ketija2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house has good vibes written from the bottom to the to the top. Very comfortable cozy and convenient to everything the city offers. Really beautiful place!

  • Jeremy's place was very comfortable and clean. It was great to have the garage. Whole Foods is nearby and the restaurant we went to was just a short walk away. Jeremy was very responsive in all communication.

    Gail2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable home that was conveniently located. Access to the garage was a plus. Would definitely recommend!

  • Easy check-in. Place came exactly as advertised, which was nice. Very clean and spacious townhouse with good amenities. Quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to everything Midtown has to offer. I highly recommend Jeremy's place to anyone visiting the area.

    Michael2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, Jeremy was a great host. This was my first time using Air Bnb and Jeremy was very accommodating. I was surprised how comfortable, clean, and accurate his home looked just as the pictures advertised online. Not only would I personally stay here again, but I would highly recommend this home for others to stay as well.

    Alaena2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jeremy's was great! It was a great value for all the amenities! About 5 minutes from Downtown and 25 from the airport.

    Caitlin2019-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very responsive. Everything was exactly as listed making it an overall great experience. Just far enough outside the city to require driving, making the spacious attached garage an added bonus. Overall a great host/experience!!

    Conor2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Jeremy's place! It was so easy to feel at home there. The apartment had everything we needed. It was a mile walk to the Fisher Theatre where we were working, or a $6-7 uber ride. The Q Line opened while we were there and it was a very convenient way to get around! I love coming to Detroit and am thrilled to have found such a welcoming, comfortable, and fully-loaded place to call home!

    Katti2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy's place was just what we were looking for! His place was clean, bright, roomy and comfortable. It was in a great location to explore Detroit, and it even had a garage though parking was also easy on the street. We loved the bed, the kitchen was well stocked and there was a desk area for a computer. Jeremy was a great communicator, making sure we had everything we needed. We'd highly recommend his place for a great place to stay in Detroit.

The kitchen was pristine and the fresh press was the perfect little treat to have on the private deck! The Detroit homage was an extra touch:) walking distance to downtown made this the perfect location! We will stay again for sure!

  • This little gem is perfectly located a quick Uber drive to downtown. It’s beautifully decorated and was perfect for our needs. The view from the rooftop overlooking the city is amazing. The communication from the hosts was excellent and their recommendations were appreciated. We had a blast visiting Detroit and will be back soon!

  • Super cute! Great location, close to everything downtown .

    Page2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is a great space in a great location. The rooftop deck is fantastic! We especially appreciated the whole bean coffee from a local roaster with a nice little grinder and French press. Good coffee is something that even a lot of high end hotels get wrong with awful pods or prepackaged grounds, so we TRULY appreciated that Christa and David got it so, so right! Everything about this place is truly top notch.

    Kathleen2019-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent launch point for events at the various local stadiums. The space is as advertised.

    Jacqueline2018-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location and views. Adequate kitchen for cooking. Secured building. Blankets smelled a bit smokey from previous guests. WiFi was fast too. Overall a good nights stay. I would stay again.

Sunny, cozy and serene. Right off of Jefferson Ave and Detroit’s Riverwalk. The perfect retreat with a gorgeous view of the Detroit River and only a 5-minute drive to downtown! Just a few blocks from Belle Isle Park with a beautiful view of the river. Ample and safe parking for all guests. The newly renovated Mt. Elliot Park directly across the street provides for a safe and family friendly environment for a stroll.
The building stays true to Detroit's cultural history as it is rustic and once used by manufacturers. Turned into an artist's loft space, the living space features exposed red brick throughout. Interior decor is boho-chic meets Moroccan themes. Souvenirs from my travels to Asia, Africa, and the middle east also fill the space. Coffee and cereal included.
The neighborhood is very safe. The apartment building is directly on the Detroit River Front, which it should be noted that the River Front has completely been renovated and truly family friendly. A Walgreens is directly across the street as well as a gas station on the corner. Getting around is fairly easy. Most restaurants and cafes are within a 5-10 minute driving distance.
  • Great place and cool location for the price. Cute loft and nice city proximity and riverfront experience. As mentioned by others, there is a noise level from neighboring lofts and the area outside. This wasn't surprising for the setup and location.

    Elizabeth2018-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was neat, had a great view at sunrise! Would definitely stay here again!

    Jessica2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cute place with a great view. Lots of natural lighting and cute decor. The amenities were lacking though. The tv only plays dvds and breakfast was artificially flavored Nutrigrain bars & Maxwell House instant coffee. The walls are thin so be prepared to hear everything the neighbors (on all sides & above) are doing. The parking is free but be aware that even in the "safe" area my car was stolen while I slept. My host informed me this was a one time thing but also that "crime happens", being from out of town this was unnerving and since having a car in Detroit is essential to getting around it made enjoying my trip difficult.

    Ashley2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay. Very quiet. Amenities were nice and the view was cool.

    Amy2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean loft. Only recommendation is that you keep noise to a minimum cause the neighbors will complain about ANY noise. Great stay otherwise

    Rollin2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay with a great view of the river. Cool space to relax after touring the city. Only downside was the lack of kitchen supplies to prepare a meal and the lighting is limited so the space is dark once the sun sets. Otherwise host is very accommodating and quick to communicate.

Hello! Our home is an 1890 Victorian mansion that we purchased in 2012 and lovingly renovated over three years using a team of local craftspeople and myself. This space is a quirky 1 bedroom, 1 bath garden level loft with much of its original character preserved. Located in the heart of Midtown just one block from 15+ bars and restaurants, DMC, Shinola and way more. The space is designed with leisure stays in mind but also capable of accommodating business travelers comfortably. Parking included
The space features a custom cherry old-growth wood bar along with handbuilt cherry countertops. The bathroom has its own interesting character equipped with the biggest shower I've ever installed as a builder. The apartment is stocked with coffee, has an Apple TV and high-speed WiFi and dart board. The space is equipped with a modern heating system and natural cooling from the original stone walls. It’s very comfortable year round.
Midtown is an exploding, vibrant neighborhood in the center of Detroit. There are so many fantastic bars, shopping opportunities, museums and restaurants within walking distance. The Wayne State Police is highly active and patrols Midtown 24/7 with a fast response rate making Midtown the safest neighborhood in Detroit and one of the safest university campuses in the nation.
  • Great basement 1 bedroom with plenty of sun light. The space stays cool even when it's really hot outside. Kitchen and bathroom are really awesome! Great location in town, located close to some great breweries, tap houses and restaurants. Would stay and again and recommend

Few minutes to Caesar's Casino and downtown You are a few minutes ' walk of the Detroit Riverside Park。 My listings close to nightlife, public transport, suitable for family activities. Because of location, landscape, and you will fall in love with my listings. My houses are ideal for couples, solo travelers adventure, business travellers, families with young children.
This house consists of four old Winsor apartments in a very quiet old quarter. The four apartments are very independent and this apartment is one of them. The house is a bit old but beautiful, and when you live in the house, you will feel back to Windsor's past. When you walk into the house, you will be surprised to find that the house is not only beautifully decorated, but also makes you feel comfortable and warm. In particular, the large master bedroom has a large bed and a thicker mattress, and the floor is reinstalled for comfort. Mini rooms with mini beds and work desks are ideal for business or children. We have a new sofa bed in the living room and a TV. We also prepare coffee, cream (10%-18%), tea and sugar for you, so you can enjoy a relaxed life without hesitation. In short, the entire house is clean and tidy. We want to be your travel home and look forward to a great time here. Address: 482 Louis Ave, Windsor, ON
You live in this house, you will be very surprised. Close to the bar and a few minutes to the city center. Going out is shops, groceries and restaurants. Block bus, a minute is the station. The most important thing is to get through the Detroit Tunnel. 5 minutes' walk to the casino and Detroit riverside park.
  • Shiyun's communication was super prompt and the check-in process was easy. The apartment is a good size, well-located, and on a quiet street.

  • This place was perfect for what we needed for one night. Walls are paper thin and we heard people coming into their house from the ground floor apartment at 1 in the morning but they weren’t noisy for long. The space is pretty accurate to what the pictures and descriptions are. Overall a positive experience!

The loft is also super close to downtown, all festivals (e.g., Movement, MoPop) and the Cobo Center (10-15 min walk); The Renaissance Center (RenCen, 6-min drive/27-min walk); and Hart Plaza is a 4-min drive/23-min walk past Rosa Park's old condo and the Detroit Riverwalk (a site of the Underground Railroad).
  • This was a fabulous loft, wonderful host and a perfect place for a getaway weekend!

    Julie2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle’s place is absolutely perfect. And she went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. AirBnB at its best. Highly recommended!

    Hosanna2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome!! It’s a super short drive to downtown, you could even walk if you wanted. The apartment is spacious, stylish, and had everything we could have needed, plus. Communication was super easy as was check in and instructions. Would definitely recommend this for travelers looking for a cute modern space!! The host also provided the most lengthy list of things to do in the area, I’m a local and even I learned quite a bit from the list!! Job well done.

    Erik2018-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle's loft is an incredible space to hang out in. It's super stylish and comfortable, and reasonably close to downtown and corktown with a car or Uber. I stayed for business and would come again.

  • Danielle is hands down the best host! Her place is huge and the bed is so cozy! She provides great coffee and is so helpful with a multitude of recommendations for the area which is so helpful. She’s very responsive to any questions and her place is in the coolest part of town. You will be happy if you stay here :)

    Jennifer2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! Well cared for and comfortable. Perfect for a couples get-a-away. Plenty of things to do within a 15 minute walk! Host was very easy to contact.

  • Danielle was able to meet all my accommodations. Apartment was well kept, had everything I needed for my stay, and offered a unique vibe. Would however get A/C working.

    Dillon2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • A team of four of us from work stayed here to attend a conference. Danielle patiently answered my questions before I booked since I had to make sure it was a good fit for my team and it would be close to the conference location. Between the bed, the sofas, and an air mattress each of us had a place to sleep and the place is big enough that we could sleep without disrupting each other. We had space to chat around the table and then watch a movie in the living room. If you have a hard time sleeping unless it's completely dark, bring an eye mask because the light coming through the windows can keep you up at night. Danielle provided us with an extensive list of suggestions. Her love of Detroit is clear!

This loft is the essence of what Detroit has to offer; sophisticated design, history, technology and an appreciation for nature. 5 minutes from Belle Isle & Downtown, on the Riverwalk and next to an upgraded park. Fully equipped, for up to six people. Close to Belle Isle, Comerica Park, Ford Field, Chene Park, Joe Louis Arena, Fox Theatre, the Masonic Temple, Cobo Hall, Detroit Institute of Arts, the Fillmore, Hart Plaza and Little Caesar's Arena.
The loft is a wide open space located near the heart of Downtown. Large windows allow for natural light to illuminate the loft during the day and my smart-lights allow for an array of colors at night, which can be controlled directly from your smartphone. Artwork and photos decorate the walls along with objects I've collected along my travels. The perfect place to come back to relax to after a crazy day in Detroit! 20ft projector screen with Xbox One with 2 controllers and Xfinity Cable, new furniture, 5 color changing smartphone controlled lights, iPhone 6s+ to use to easily control the lights or surf the web, full closet and storage for clothing/luggage, record player (request a few albums to have!), work station, decanter & wine set, 2 LED systems under each bed, touch free soap dispenser, plant life and a short guide for the best things to do while in Detroit. Very comfortable queen size beds to wake up to a view of Downtown in the morning with privacy curtains for each room.
The neighborhood is great. Right on the Detroit River with easy access to the heart of downtown, Belle Isle or the Dequindre Cut by way of walking, biking or by car. Adjacent to the building is a newly upgraded park to mark the start (or end) of the Riverwalk which has nice rolling greens to spend a Summer day on. There is a grocery store within walking distance.

The location was perfect for short/cheap uber rides to all the bars and restaurants we wanted to visit. It’s was nice to have such an inviting space to come back to, after a night out. Very cool place.

Enjoy and explore the quaint but up-and-coming neighborhood of West Village Detroit. This cozy apartment is just steps away from new shops and restaurants like Sister Pie, Craft Work and Red Hook Coffee. With it’s historic elements in tact, wood floors, and antique charm the space has a subtle and sophisticated feel and was furnished with this in mind. The original murphy bed folds down in the living room and a custom made kitchen bar top folds up for extra guest accommodations.
The West Village neighborhood is a lovely up and coming area of Detroit. While it's still easiest to get around Detroit by car there are some great restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you'd like any recommendations just send me a message. We are also right next to Indian Village, a neighborhood with beautiful houses built in the early 1900s. Overall, the neighborhood is very walkable and friendly.

PLEASE read detailed house/space rules below, BEFORE sending inquiry.
Guest Count: is based on total number of guest in the space---not number of guest sleeping. Please do not reach out until you have confirmed the total number of guest. Walk Through: Airbnb does not allow walk throughs prior to booking. Parking: There is a gated lot attached to the building that provides one parking space. There is additional free street parking. Check-in/out time: There is no early check-in or late check-out. Location: The property is geo-coded at the bottom of listing. Commercial Use: Film/Photography/Pop-up dinner etc need prior approval and have different rates than our residential stays. Smoking: $350 fine for smoking inside. There are areas outside the building designated for smoking.
This two story warehouse was constructed in 1914 by Jam Handy. After a successful career as an Olympian athlete, Handy pioneered visual learning and contributed immensely to the areas of motion picture production, film technology, and telecommunications. Many of the building on this block were part of his film production complex that produced 7,000+ films. This building and neighborhood continues to be a welcoming place for industrial design thinking. Henry Ford invented the Model T two blocks away, Motown's Hitsville 8 blocks away, Shinola headquarters 5 blocks away, and the list goes on…
  • We loved this loft! We were in town one night only for a concert. Loved the open space, comfy bed and kitchen. We didn't get to use the jacuzzi tub. The windows are beautiful and natural life is great. 2 small complaints only: bathroom lighting was tough to do makeup, but see above no problem just did it in the living room. The other small detail... Wish there were curtains in the bedroom. It was bright. Amazing stay. We will be back.

    Stefanie2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The unit as a whole was decent. It was well overdue for a deep cleaning. Pretty bare bones as far as furnishings, decor, and even lighting. However, since the streetlights shine in at night there was virtually no need for light fixtures. There are literally no window coverings of any kind in this unit, on any window. As you can imagine when you have streetlights blasting in at night. It makes for a crappy sleep. The sound from the street is very prominent. You may wish to ask for a side unit as they have others available. The building is literally in the middle of nowhere. Minimal amenities around the property nor did it appear safe to go venturing off. Although it was a neat unit, should we travel to Detroit again. We will stay elsewhere.

    Andrew2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's place was the perfect home base for our weekend in Detroit. We wanted a place where we could learn more about the city, and get to all the different neighborhoods easily. It was a short drive to Eastern Market, Downtown, Mid-town, and Corktown. The place itself was a great value compared to other options and was just as advertised in the listing. Furnishings are minimal but attractive.

    Matthew2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is large and beautiful. It is a corner unit so it has great light and views. Sometimes traffic can be loud (so maybe bring ear plugs for sleeping), but other than that, it was a nice stay. The host was great at communicating and we had no issues with our stay.

    Stacy2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The host was great. Very communicative about how to find the place, how to check in and following up throughout all stages. The place looked exactly as described and it was very nice. The location is not really near anything, so you will have to drive to wherever you want to go, like downtown Detroit, but we knew that before making the reservation.

    Sean2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's place is spacious and modern as pictured!! The type of space I would love to live in in the future. It gets a ton of light in the daytime but the downfall is that it is also very very bright at night since there are no curtains and huge windows all over. The AC fan is also quite loud but I'm personally okay with that. Loved the rooftop space and there is everything you would need in terms of supplies for cooking and in the bathrooms.

    Diane2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This loft offers a pretty authentic Detroit experience. It’s well situated in an industrial area and around the corner from many spots you’ll want to check out while in Detroit from Fisher Building to Cadillac Bldg. and Midtown which has the Detroit Institute of Art (DIA) and the library among other things. There is also a Whole Foods relatively close by. Communication with Kyle was excellent. The place lived up to expectations. Only thing worth mentioning is that I can get a bit loud since there is a galley / club next-door. So if you’re a light sleeper this might not be the place for you. We heard people hanging outside till about 4am on the weekend. Bed was super comfy though!

  • We had the most amazing stay at Christopher's place. We showed up 3 hours late and he was there waiting at the door with the keys. He was always a text away whether we needed details on where to go and what to do. He was an amazing host and took care of everything for us. The place was so cozy and it really felt like home away from home. I loved the vibe and would recommend it to anyone.

    Amy2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cool stylish place. As the building that this apartment is located in looks desolate, you will be pleasantly surprised about the unit. It was styled great and was cozy at the same time. I would definitely recommend for a quick trip to Detroit.

  • Super accommodating and very responsive!

    John2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was the perfect place for a travelling couple. We walked into a relaxing environment filled with cool lighting (hue lamps that can be turned into any color), a humidifier running with lavender essential oil, and relaxing music running. We automatically felt right at home. There were movies, books, and music choices to pick from to keep you occupied as well if you want. Christopher was always available for anything we needed. We ran into a hiccup and realized we forgot toothpaste in the middle of our event we travelled for and Christopher gladly brought over some! The walls are a little thin, so if you are a light sleeper, I recommend to bring some ear plugs since we heard TV or music playing at times from the other apartments. Overall, a perfect loft for a weekend getaway to Detroit with a ton of cool artifacts to look at (:

    Kriste2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was really great. The space was very clean, and Christopher was a great host. It is apparent that he genuinely cares that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Check-in was easy and Christopher was always a phone call or text away. This was a great experience! Oh, and the bed is super comfy!

    Jayne2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay pretty close to the riverwalk. There is a walgreens not too far. The apt was really decorated nicely and had a working tv with lots of channels. The host was very accommodating and communicative during our stay. Cool lights! The actual building isn't 5 stars quality but we were happy with the value especially since we were able to book it pretty last minute and were still accommodated.

  • I think this is a great space in a culturally diverse area. If you're the right person for it, you'll love it. I adored seeing the plethora of cultures living in the area, and the plethora of great places to eat. Her space is great and a fun, unique space in a world of hipster/minimal spaces in Airbnb land. I truly appreciate the curation of the space and the overall "brand" it was presented as.

  • Although I didn’t get a chance to meet Morgan personally..... she was super quick with responses and very helpful with directing us to some yummy places to eat. We needed up getting take out from the Royal Kebab place - super affordable and super yummy! The Coney Diner downstairs for brekky was top notch! The Surf Shack is clean, fun and roomy!!! The bed is comfy!!! The pillows are fab and we will 100% be coming back next year - same Bat time - same Bat place!!! The lock box at the front door is also really convenient if you go out and are coming back at different times with the peeps you came with. Makes getting in and out safe and easy. All in all a really great place to stay!!! Thanks again Morgan and see you (sort of) next year!

  • This place was just average for the amount paid. Less than what I expected but not awful if that makes sense. I would only recommend for those who are not very particular for meticulous accommodations or for young people because of the entrance and the various stairs. Great host but with improvements would be a Super host! God bless Chris.

  • Cool space, right next to a park on the river!

    Nathan2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had a good stay here. Everything is perfect except the walls are kinda thin and the upstairs neighbors are really loud

    Talib2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher's place was everything I wanted for my group. We had more than enough space to sleep 8 of us, and Christopher was great about checking in to see if we were all settled or needed anything else. I would totally stay here again.

    Emily2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher is a fantastic host - he is timely in his replies and willing to do "the extra little things" to make your stay comfortable. The only drawback was that the kitchen wasn't conducive for cooking. Other than that, great place right along the river!

    Christopher2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a great first Airbnb experience. Christopers loft is close to everything with just a short Uber ride. He had everything we needed for 10 women for my daughters bachelorette party. So much better then a hotel. When we had questions he answered promptly and even came to help us once when we couldn't figure something out. If I need to go to Detroit again I will for sure stay at Christopher's again. Thank you Christopher!

Sunny, welcoming one bedroom apartment located right in the middle of Midtown. Includes parking! Tucked in a 2nd floor corner of a historic building the space has an updated kitchen and bathroom. Fits two in bedroom and one (or two snugly) on couch in living room. Convenient location just blocks away from the Q-Line, shops, restaurants, museums and less than 5 minutes from downtown. Visit Detroit and explore the midtown neighborhood with this cozy space as your starting point.
This is a lovely, bright corner apartment located on the 2nd floor of a 1920’s building in Midtown, Detroit. The apartment itself is efficient in size overall with a large living area. Original wood floors have been refinished and the kitchen and bathroom have been updated. Many original elements remain including a decorative fireplace in the bedroom. Wifi is available in the apartment and I have a TV set up with Hulu and Netflix. One parking space in the front driveway is included in your stay!
The Midtown neighborhood is one of the most active in Detroit with new shops, restaurants and activities just a few steps out the door.
  • Staying at Morgan’s place felt like being at home! It was so cozy and comfortable and my boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time there. The couch is perfect for two (snuggling!) and the bed is so soft and dreamy. The light is also gorgeous and the heat in the apartment (during a cold winter) was the perfect temperature. Morgan is a kind and wonderful host and her taste is impeccable. I would stay at her place again in a heartbeat and will def recommend it to friends and family in the future. Thank you Morgan!

    Katy2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan’s place is so lovely. The apartment is light-drenched on all sides and beautifully decorated. Felt so homely yet minimal and clean. This is a really great little neighbourhood too, with good coffee and some cute stores within walking distance. Excellent value and easy communication with Morgan. Thanks!

  • What a great place! We loved the location, which is a quick and easy walk to most of what is bubbling in Midtown and a great little market (in case you want to make eggs and bacon at 2am). The place itself is quiet, stylish and full of everything you’d want to have on hand. (I could totally just move in as is!). We will be back and will also share with local friends who are attending events downtown and want to stay overnight and with out-of-towners too.

    Traci2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Morgan's place on a recent business trip. The apartment is so chic and located in such a walkable area of town!

5 minutes walk to the casino. 3 minutes walk to Detroit Riverside Park. A 5-minute drive to the Windsor City Hall, the Canadian Service Center and the city centre, as well as the tunnel through Detroit, Canada. My listing is in the nightlife area. Close to the train station, Greyhound bus, water park. Because of the location of the scenic area, you will fall in love with my house. My house is perfect for couples, travelers, business travellers and families.
The house consists of four old Winsor apartments in a very quiet old quarter. The four apartments are very independent and this apartment is one of them. The house is a bit old but beautiful, and when you live in the house, you will feel back to Windsor's past. When you walk into the house, you will be surprised to find that the house is not only beautifully decorated, but also makes you feel comfortable and warm. In particular, the master bedroom has a large bed and a thickened mattress, and the floor is re-installed to make people feel comfortable. We have a new sofa bed in the living room, equipped with a smart TV, and we have coffee, cream (10%-18%), tea and sugar for you, so you can enjoy a relaxed life without hesitation. In short, the entire house is completely clean and tidy. We hope to be your home in travel and look forward to having a wonderful time here. Address: 702 Louis Ave, Windsor, ON
You live in this house, you will be very surprised. Close to the bar and a few minutes to the city center. Going out is shops, groceries and restaurants. Block bus, a minute is the station. The most important thing is to get through the Detroit Tunnel. 5 minutes' walk to the casino and Detroit riverside park. The water heater is a bit noisy.

We weren't here long enough to explore the area but we didn't feel unsafe or anything like how other people have stated. Nothing fancy about this place but provides everything you need for a great stay!

One of the most beautiful homes on Airbnb. This is a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom historic home in one of the most beautiful, one of a kind neighborhood of Detroit. Woodbridge is in Midtown, and a mile from most of Detroit's finest sights, art, and stadiums. My wife and I are in Greece for at least six months helping refugees and your stay is our only revenue keeping us there. Thank you! Note on Cleaning Fee: There is a group that help maintain the place. It goes to them to support a living wage.
This is a great 4000 sq/ft three story single family home. Very spacious with tons of light. All the bedrooms have great closet space and two rooms have en suite full baths.
Woodbridge is one of the most beautiful areas of Detroit. Within 1-2 miles of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Whole Foods, Eastern Market, Downtown, Wayne State. Comerica Park, Ford Field, Masonic Temple, Fox Theater, Corktown. Detroit safety and emptiness comes up often. This house is in the safest part of Detroit. We are the only area that is patrolled by three police departments due to Wayne State University and the variety of medical centers near by. Many are thrown off by the current state of Detroit. There are amazing small "islands" of great neighborhoods throughout the city, but a lot of emptiness, grafitti, and development between all of them. You can't escape it if you are staying in Detroit. It's the nature of our city. This house is in one of the safest and most quiet neighborhoods in all of Detroit. We are only a mile from city center and most attractions. My reviews tend to be all 5 stars except sometimes we fall short in "location". I attribute this to guests being unfamiliar with Detroit, so I am trying to give a more detailed background of the nature of our city.
  • Our experience was magnificent! George was really attentive. He has arranged everything so that your stay is the most comfortable possible. The house totally exceeded our expectations. It´s super clean and extremely beautiful. It´s extremely easy to check in and check out. I would highly recommend you to stay here if you are visiting Detroit. Honestly, there´s not one single thing I can complain about.

    Ruben2014-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. The house was clean, towels were put out and the tempurpedic mattress in the master bedroom is insane!!! I can't wait to plan another night out in Detroit. This is 10x better than even 2 hotel rooms. I even felt safe and secure in the neighborhood. Thanks for everything George!

    Mark2014-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful house, everything and more than you could ask for in a 113 year old house! Very cold outside but warm and toasty in. Did not get to meet George but hope to one day. Would stay in a heartbeat again!

    Debra2015-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at George's house. He promptly responded to all our messages and met us when we arrived. The house was perfect for 8 people - we had plenty of room and had a great time hanging out in the back yard. There are several different common areas in addition to 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The kitchen was also really well equipped so we could cook for all of us without any trouble. Great stay all around!

    Claire2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • George's hospitality is a huge perk to booking this house. He makes you feel very welcome from the moment you click reserve. He responded to all emails and phone calls before we even arrived. After arriving, he stopped by to check in on us. He made us feel immediately comfortable and at home, and reminded us to reach out to him if we need anything. We knew we were staying in a house that was well cared for and loved and were grateful to enjoy this space. It is cozy, charming, beautifully decorated, spacious, and clean. The hosts clearly have an eye for aesthetics with every room having its own character. And the furniture was comfortable and inviting - nothing felt like it was there just for show and not to enjoy. We had a great night's sleep in comfy beds, found everything we needed in the kitchen, and enjoyed all the amenities in the rest of the house. We would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone visiting Detroit.

  • I make a trip to Detroit every year and usually stay in a hotel. I will never do that if this home is available. It is located perfectly for many activities. It is exactly as pictured. Huge, and has everything needed when away from home. The beds are amazingly comfortable. There are even games for use. The backyard was not forgotten either. There is a charcoal grill and a patio set. Grass for the little ones to play on. The front porch is perfect for sitting in the early morning and enjoying a cup of coffee or in the evening enjoying the quiet. The "tips" left by the host were spot on. I grew up on a tree lined street (in Detroit) similar to this one and it made me feel right at home from the minute we walked in. The 100 year old home is impressive, the host is personable, available and welcoming at the same time provides the privacy desired when renting a home. I would recommend this home to anyone needing space to spread out (got teenagers) and a launching point for visiting Detroit and the surrounding areas.

    Lynne2015-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house was far above our expectations. The street and house were very quiet and we loved staying in the Woodbridge historic neighborhood. We explored downtown a bit and ate some great pizza in an area that is slowly being revitalized. We would love to visit again!

    Nina2014-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this house is an experience in itself! It is so well maintained, clean and beautiful. George was a very accommodating and helpful host. He provided us an extensive list of things to do and see while in Detroit. He was also very quick to reply to any inquiries we had. The house was so spacious and extremely well decorated and I can't say enough positive things about it. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and the hot water never ran out. The house is in a great location and only enhances a trip to Detroit. After staying here, there is no where else we would rather stay!

Clean, stylish space - ideal for a single traveler or a couple exploring Detroit! Corktown is a cozy, quiet and friendly neighborhood and our historic home is located just a few minutes away from the best bars, restaurants and coffee shop in the city. Our charming cottage built in 1900 has original wood floors and exposed beams, a queen sized bed, all new appliances and a large backyard with a view of downtown - giving you a true feeling of a home away from home.
Guests have access to the entire cottage and spacious backyard.
Our cottage is in the oldest established neighborhood in Detroit. It’s a super friendly community and is very walkable with lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
  • The pictures don’t do this place justice - it’s a wonderful, warm space, perfect for solo travelers or couples looking to spend a few days in Detroit. Quiet block, a quick ride away from downtown, and lots of great places to eat and drink within a 5-minute walk. I had a wonderful time.

  • Lindsay and Jesse's place is on a really cute block and the renovation is really lovely. Jesse met us when we arrived and provided some tips on where to find food/grab a bite. We caught a Thursday night football game on the digital antenna and enjoyed the pacman console. The bed was a little hard but other than that we had a great stay.

    Elise2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse and Lindsay’s place is utterly beautiful. So comfortable and stylish, and full of lovely little touches. Everything has been put together so well and they both obviously take a lot of pride in the space. We’ve been on the road for a month and it’s one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. Immaculately clean, easy street parking and a great location. We met Jesse on check-in and he was very welcoming and friendly, giving us a great recommendation for a brewery around the corner for dinner. We didn’t want to leave!

  • Great location. Easy and inexpensive Uber anywhere in the city. A lot of times the pics look bigger than the real thing. Not the case here. The couches and tv made it hard to leave. I was expecting a smaller space. It was not. Gates parking was easy and a nice touch. Right next to Elliott park, which I imagine would be nice in the summertime. Communication and contact was great and smooth. Definetly recommend.

David and Ariyana from making first contact were very polite and easy to communicate with. Checking in with them was a breeze, simple and straight forward. Their place was absolutely spotless, bed was in my opinion luxurious, decor was awesome and gotta say loved the water pressure for the shower. Pictures on their profile are exactly what you see! I will definitely be returning to this hip spot in the future! Thanks again David and Ariyana. Loved every minute we were there!

  • The location was great, a brisk walk and your one the river front. A short drive to downtown (5 minutes), David replied to my texts quickly. I had a group of guys with me for the weekend who all loved the place as well. I would recommend to anyone with a medium sized group to entertain for a weekend who's planning on going to the casinos or Games in Detroit.

The Duck 'N' Roll inn is a three bedroom home situated on a urban duck farm. A combination of contemporary features and old-time cottage charm will keep you comfortable and cozy while you enjoy Detroit's east side. It is close to Grosse Pointe, and most Detroit destinations are quickly reached by freeway.
The Duck 'N' Roll Inn has been a home to journalists, documentary filmmakers, artists, performers, urban planners and explorers, and this year, a temporary home for families reuniting. It's been a joy to teach the kids about the ducks! The "Duck 'N' Roll Inn" is an eclectic farmhouse on an urban duck farm, officially known as Laid In Detroit. The farm provides pasture raised duck eggs to Rock City Eatery, as well as local residents. Located in the easy-going east side, Laid In Detroit was voted "Best Inner City Duck Farm" by the staff of the Metro Times. Though it's not so much an "inner city" vibe as it is a laid back oasis amongst urban sprawl. It encompasses 6 city lots full of trees and garden, The house has 3 bedrooms--a nautical room, and kid friendly room, and a spacious bedroom known as "the disco room," which features a large skylight, a woodburning stove, enormous chalk boards, and a sound system with a disco ball so that it doubles as a dance floor! There is one full bath with an extra wide jacuzzi tub, as well as a half bath on the first floor. The property also features a steel bbq in the form of a dinosaur, an adobe pizza oven on site, as well as panoramic views of the gardens and the ducks frolicking in the pasture. We have a new addition to the farm! Meg, the livestock guardian dog is keeping us safe from predators and prowlers. Great Pyrenees guardian dogs are known for their friendly, gentle demeanor, as well as their superior livestock guarding abilities. When you meet her, give her a biscuit and a pat. She loves guests! (By the way, the dog is off limits to the house unless invited! No worries if you are allergic or not an animal lover.) The house is full of character with a large kitchen and dining area. The property also has many ecological features, such as a green roof over the duck coop. Your stay here will not only be relaxing and fun, but educational as well. Typical guests who have really enjoyed the Duck 'N' Roll Inn are artists, urban gardening fans, photographers, journalists, film makers, animal lovers, students, musicians, world travelers and anyone with an adventurous mindset. You can also rest easy knowing that the money from your reservation is going directly to a small farm business in a developing neighborhood in Detroit. Laid In Detroit has hosts many events, including an annual Easter party for the kids.
Cornerstone Village, once a stable working class neighborhood founded by Belgian immigrants (some refer to it as "the Belgian triangle") has also been affected by the recent mass exodus from Detroit. But a strong coalition of homeowners with deep roots in the community have held things together. You will encounter some blight and vacant homes in the neighborhood. I am currently waiting for three of them to get knocked down on my street. Hoefully it will happen soon in 2019. There are characters, and oftentimes people are out and about, playing music and socializing, but it is a friendly neighborhood. All guests have had a safe experience here. I haven't had a single incident of crime since I started hosting in 2012. There are many great restaurants nearby, as well as bars, pubs, and grocery stores. The Cadieux Cafe and Ye Olde Tap Room have been around for a century. Trader Joe's and Kroger grocery are within walking distance.
  • We had a great stay in Suzanne's house. The space is huge and welcoming, and was extremely comfortable. The neighborhood seemed quiet and safe - there were a few abandoned houses on the street, but we never felt unsafe. We really liked having use of the kitchen, and grocery stores were very close by. Suzanne was extremely welcoming and helpful, and it was fun to meet her flock of ducks! Suzanne was always quick to respond to emails and questions, and was super flexible and understanding when we ended up arriving later than we originally planned. The price, location, and amenities make Suzanne's place a great home base for exploring Detroit.

  • This was our first Air B&B experience. Suzanne was a wonderful host. She was available when we needed her but not intrusive. The property is as represented and we had plenty of room for everyone. The yard did not have grass but I still enjoyed being outside. Neighbors were quiet. Very nice stay for our Henry Ford museum trip. We would recommend and stay again.

  • Excellent home, very cozy.

  • Great place. Ducks were very fun.

    Aaron2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne's house was great. Her descriptions were accurate and the house was perfect and clean. I am a Detroit native so I knew what to expect in regards to the neighborhood, but suffice to say it is perfectly fine and within a very short distance to Grosse Point (fancy neighborhood) and all it has to offer in the way of shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. Her ducks and great pyrenees were wonderful too and made for very worthy photography subjects. I would happily stay here again.

  • Our stay at Duck 'N' Roll Inn was amazing! We were in Detroit for an extra night before Movement and we chose to stay with Suzanne. Suzanne herself was awesome; friendly, informative, inviting, laid-back! We had a few conversations with her throughout our short but sweet stay. It was great to chat with her! The ducks were so cute! There was a good group of baby ducks waddling around and lots of adults protecting them. It was also mating season, which was interesting to witness. We would have liked some duck eggs but Suzanne was running low. There is always next time :) The house was great. It was nice to have our own space separate from the host (we were a bit noisy). Lots of beds to accommodate our group. My boyfriend and I stayed in one room, one of our friends in another private single room and the four others all stayed in the disco room! We slept peacefully and left around noon. Suzanne was so fantastic! I needed a document printed and she was happy to print it for me! She really is a lifesaver. All in all, I will be staying at the Duck 'N' Roll Inn again, VERY SOON :)

    Maddy2015-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a great experience. Suzanne is a fun and interesting lady. I wish we would have had more time to chat while I was there. I was visiting to check out some urban farms and she went out of her way to call her farmer friends to help connect me with people in the city. The place was super cute and comfortable. It is a FARM though. Don't go in the yard, if you can't handle the idea of dog hair on your jeans or duck poop on the ground. Ducks poop. The house is very clean though. All in all, I give full stars! I can't wait to go back.

    Erica2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Duck'n'Roll Inn lived up to all our expectations. In fact, it surpassed them! If you want a really brilliant experience of real Detroit, away from Downtown and Mid-Town, this is a great insight to the city. The house is beautiful, very rustic with a wonderful kitchen. The setting is great, with super cute ducks and cats. (We were even given eggs for breakfast!) Suzanne was a great host, she went out of her way to show us round and make us feel really welcome. - Would definitely go back again!

  • Very clean, and had garage access! Aaron was very polite and timely. Tons of shops and places to eat in walking distance.

  • Aaron's house was great! Awesome location!!!!! Plenty of room!!!! Comfortable and he was very, very nice!!!!

    Tene2018-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed there for one night and overall it was a great experience! The location is unmatched in regards to proximity to downtown Detroit attractions. The Little Caesar's Arena is literally on the corner of the street, as well as the Detroit Opera House, Comerica Stadium, Fox Theatre, and MGM Casino being within 10-15 minutes walking distance. If you're in town to attend a downtown Detroit event, you can keep the car parked and get there on foot. No need to even UBER!! The bedroom was very clean, with the exception of the bathroom waste basket not being emptied from the previous guest. However, it was very convenient to have a private half bathroom right in the room. The bathroom that we showered in seems to be the only full bathroom in the condo and is shared with the host. He provided towels, but no washcloths (we brought our own), and there were several travel bottles of body wash in the shower which I assume were for guest use (again, we had our own). There's a shower caddy in there that is unsecured and can fall very easily if you accidentally bump into it. Not the biggest issue, but worth mentioning. Aside from the small things mentioned, this was a great place to stay and I would definitely stay again. I recommend this place to anyone having a short stay in Detroit, and especially those with plans to attend any event in the downtown area.

  • Aaron was a great host and his place was exactly as described! He even went the extra mile by allowing me to use his bike which enriched my experience with the city of Detroit! Great location and an even better value!!! He is a real humble and down to earth guy so please treat his place with dignity and respect. #greatAirBnB

Welcome to West Village! Post up in a quiet, sunny midcentury 1 bedroom apartment located in the heart of this trendy neighborhood. Walkable to Sister Pie, Red Hook Coffee, Craft Work and Detroit Vegan Soul this apartment is perfectly situated for exploring everything this neighborhood has to offer. Just a quick drive or bike-ride from the vibrant Downtown and Midtown neighborhoods, this cozy space is the perfect starting point to explore the Motor City. Includes parking!
This is a lovely 1 bedroom apartment located on the 2nd floor of a midcentury building in the historic West Village, Detroit. The building has a charming midcentury feel and the apartment was furnished with this in mind. The apartment itself can welcome up to 4 guests, 2 in the bedroom and 2 on a sleeper couch in the living room. Please note the bedroom is very private but is not closed by a door. Kitchen and bathroom have been updated, and the apartment is equipped with a AC unit for the warm summer days. Wifi is available and one free parking space is included in your stay!
The West Village neighborhood is a lovely up and coming area of Detroit. We are also right next to Indian Village, a historic neighborhood with beautiful houses built in the early 1900s. Overall, the neighborhood is very walkable and friendly.
  • Morgan’s place was really great! The location was perfect. It is right across the street from a few cute restaurants. The neighborhood is beautiful and I always felt safe. The drive to downtown was a breeze. Inside, we were welcomed by a modern and cute interior. We enjoyed a lot of natural light when it was sunny & the open floor plan was incredible. However, the bed was not the comfiest and the pillows were on the flat side. So beware if you like thicker pillows, you may want to bring your own with you! Additionally, the shower was tricky to get the right temperature of water- sometimes it got boiling hot, then too cold. Also, the bathroom door doesn’t close, which isn’t a dealbreaker if you’re with someone you’re comfortable with, but something to keep in mind. Overall, it was an incredible time and really added a lot to our trip to Detroit. Thanks so much! :)

    Matt2019-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan was great! She allowed us to check in early, and the futon was already pulled out for us to sleep on. Looks just as cute in person as the pics make it look!

    Brooke2018-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan's place was quite nice. It is an older building, so don't let the outside fool you. The place is open and bright when the sun is shining, and it is very quiet. She was very responsive when I needed to contact her.

    Ronna2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan's place looks just like the photos! It's in a great location with quick access to downtown, midtown and Eastern Market. We had a couple of hiccups during our stay with parking and the keypad lock dying, but Morgan was ridiculously quick to get it resolved. If you're traveling with your significant other, be aware that the bed is a full. We opted to use the pullout sofa since it was a little roomier for the two of us to sleep on and it was closer to the A/C unit. Overall, we had a good stay!

    Manuela2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan’s place is super cute, and perfect for a West Village location stay for two. It was great to have a couple of great places walking distance from the apartment to not have to drive everywhere once we arrived. Morgan was super quick with all our communication.

Adventurers welcome! Stay here & help fund our renovation work as we bring this abandoned 20's mansion back to life! House is RUSTIC & a WORK IN PROGRESS. Private room is restored with original features. Lockable Room Door, King bed with Foam Mattress, Mini Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker. Shared bathroom, kitchen & common area. We host other travelers too so expect community vibe! 5-15 mins bike to most top attractions. Perfect for biking explorers.
This spacious private room is restored to its original state and comfortably furnished. It has a nice king memory foam bed (Size: 76 in x 80 in). The room also comes with convenient amenities like coffee maker, microwave and a mini fridge. The room door is lockable. We usually set up only a KING bed for up to 2 guests in the room. Please let us know if you need us to set up the extra single beds. We currently have 3 bathrooms shared in the house. Since other travelers and our international volunteers helping us will be staying under the same roof and sharing the same bathroom / kitchen / lounge, the space will have a strong community vibe. Expect to meet cool people from all around. We’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared environment and we love it. :) With that being said, if you require more privacy, this is probably not the best place for you but most guests see it as a great way to meet people and embrace the community vibe as part of the adventure.
Our house is just up from Belle Isle on the same street! We're close to Eastern Market to our north west and West Village / Indian Village to our south east. Straight shot over to Downtown / Midtown and most top attractions are within 3 miles. A lot of homes in this area are being revitalized right now but there are still a lot of work to be done and you'll probably see some blighted houses nearby. If you want some more info about neighborhoods or places to check out please let us know! We have an extensive travel guide we put together for our guests.
  • I love this house, people over there are very nice. The room itself is very clean and neat, also they do provide the mini fridge and coffee machine in the room. Overall, it is a very good place to stay if you going to visit the Detroit.

Trendy, unique, & upscale apartment with absolutely no expense spared! Sits atop a privately owned, newly restored, multi-million $ building. All decor is from Restoration Hardware, creating a classy, high-tech, & luxurious travel experience. Minutes from the heart of downtown & stadiums, one block from famous restaurants: Slow's BBQ & Takoi, as well as craft cocktail bar, Sugar House & Two James Distillery. Great, safe location to explore the city & have fun. Perfect for couples/groups/events.
Located in the old Bullock Green Hardware building, a local architect with an incredible eye for detail sunk $1m+ into the rehab and decoration of the commercial building, converting it into unique living spaces. The building consists of 4 separate units: 1 massive master unit takes up the entire 1st floor, and 3 separate units that have private access are located on the 2nd floor. This unit is one of those 3. Exposed brick, accompanied with state of the art electronics and modern fixtures makes this a very unique and desirable property.
Corktown is the oldest surviving neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. Corktown derives its name from the Irish immigrants who settled there. Very safe, friendly area with plenty of bars, restaurants, distilleries within walking distance. The road consists of cobblestone, which gives it the cool, nolstalgic feel. Very close to I-75 & M-10.
  • Solid place. Would do again

  • We were somewhat disappointed for the price that we paid and the condition of the loft. We chose the loft for the layout in pictures and the amenities that were advertised. We had read that we needed to bring our own kitchen utensils from other reviews, but we were surprised by the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen and living room area. The floor was very dirty and we had three small children playing on it. There was no internet or dvd player, therefore no TV for the children. He did try to find out why there was no internet, but he never responded back about finding a dvd player. There were some other random issues like the bedroom door was off it's hinges and Cason had to bring it out of the unit while we were there and set it downstairs. He also had to turn on the bathroom sink because there was no water flow. Overall, I would not go back.

    Amy2018-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very nice and is super close to all of the festivities of Detroit! My friends and I were staying there to go see a concert at the Little Caesars Arena and even with traffic the drive was 10 minutes or less. The space seemed a little smaller than the pictures showed, but there were only 4 of us there so it worked out totally fine. The security and door systems are awesome and made us feel very safe. The kitchen and bathroom are extremely modern and adds a cool charm to the loft. Would definitely recommend staying there to a group of 4 or less.

Just as wonderful the second time around. This airbnb has everything you need (well-stocked kitchenware, toiletries, etc). It's so clean that I always feel like the first guest to ever stay there, but it's cozy enough to feel just like home. Very quiet and private. The price is perfectly reasonable too. We've only met Matthew - he's the perfect host! We loved staying here, and hope they'll allow us to stay again :)
