Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • Brenda is an awesome host, nice, friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect, in a great neighbourhood, close to public transport, restaurants, etc. The room is small and cosy as described. Kitchen and living room are spacious and very comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

  • My stay at Brenda's was wonderful. Brenda and her roomate are very nice ladies. Her house was exactly as described and is indeed "perfectly located".

  • Breend was very friendly and helpful, she has a lovely home, which is cozy and well equipped. The neighbourhood is great and I can definitely recommend you staying in her place. Thank you, Brenda, I had a great time in your home.

  • Staying with Brenda was just wonderful. I stayed two nights and it was super easy and really enjoyable. She was great and flexible with my arrival, provided everything I hoped for (starting with the cosy and nice room) and made me really comfortable. She even invited me to an evening event and always had great suggestions for where to go/what to do. On top of that, the location is nice, between Mission and the Castro and a good starting point for discovering the city. Besides all that, she is a really nice, interested and open minded person, always up for an interesting conversation. Thank you Brenda!

  • Brenda was absolutely lovely and made me feel very welcome. I loved the apartment and the location and all the fantastic food recommendations Brenda had nearby. Thank you for having me Brenda!

    Ellie2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was very welcoming and willing to meet me earlier than normal check-in time. She had lists of local favorite restaurants for me and a map and umbrella for me to use. The house was beautiful and looked exactly like the pictures. The neighborhood is great, there is a lot of food and shopping close by. There is Whole Food, Safeway, and Bi-Rite close by for anything you might need in addition to many small retail stores and boutiques. There is ample public transportation near by and I was able to get everywhere I wanted to go using Muni.

    Allison2016-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Brenda’s place was short but would have loved to stay longer! The room was very clean and quaint and the bathroom is shared, which was not an issue at all. The location is fantastic, literally a 2-5 minute walk to great restaurants, cafes, and shops. Parking in San Francisco can be quite a hassle but I had little problem with finding a place to park. Brenda was very kind, open, easy to speak with, and does a great job ensuring you feel at home. I highly recommend staying at Brenda’s!

    Golda2013-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was a fantastic host. Communication was easy and clear from the start. Her apartment is beautiful and centrally located so using public transport is simple. There are lots of great places to eat and shop nearby and Brenda provided recommendations, information, flyers and directions as required. Her apartment is a great base from which to explore San Francisco and a comfortable, clean and welcoming environment to come back to at the end of the day. Good conversation and two cute pets (a cat and a dog) help make this place feel like home from home.

  • This listing was as advertised. I had no issues with my stay and found Mike and Nic responsive before and during my stay.

  • El departamento es muy completo y luminoso. Si bien el barrio está un poco alejado, tiene excelente comunicación por transporte público. Tuvimos todo lo que los anfitriones ofrecen. Pasamos unos días espléndidos en San Francisco

    Laura2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Mike and Nic's place for close to a week. Though we were only able to talk to Mike and Nic briefly, they were supremely friendly and helpful. Included and in easy access was an manual for the studio including how to operate the gas fireplace, list of amenities, maps, and guides. As another reviewer stated, the photos do not do this place justice and also significant, the surrounding Bernal Heights / Cortland Ave. neighborhood. We couldn't have been more satisfied.

    Long2013-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We totally enjoyed our stay here. The studio was very quaint and elegant. The neighborhood was very unique with so many wonderful small business and shops on Cortland. And who knew that we would have some of the best views of San Francisco from Mount Burnel just a few blocks from the apartment! This was just a very unique way to experience the city! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get steeped in the experience of what the city is really all about.

    Robert2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a very relaxed stay at Mike and Nic’s very comfortable, roomy studio. Very effective gas fireplace, which worked really well. Masses of leaflets and local information. The location was ideal for us, being close to our son and his family. It’s in a nice quiet neighbourhood, with a plethora of stores, bars and restaurants just minutes away on foot. We enjoyed a superb meal at Piqueos, the Peruvian restaurant. We much enjoyed travelling by Muni, making use of the excellent rate of $1 for seniors for 90 minutes worth of consecutive transportation. We made frequent use of numbers 67 (round the corner on Bernal Heights Blvd) as well as down the hill on Cortland Ave) and also numbers 24 (along Cortland Ave), and 14 and 49 on Mission St. (Website hidden by Airbnb) was a godsend. We can echo what others have said – communication with Mike and Nic was extremely pleasant and prompt and they were very attentive to all our needs. Many thanks for a comfortable, relaxing stay!

    Aad2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a nice, spacious and clean apartment. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and easy to find a parking spot. Buses are nearby to different area. We enjoyed our stay.

  • We spent a week at Mike and Nic ´ s apartment. We found the place charming and very convenient. It ´s well equipped and very large. Our hosts are friendly people , you can easily contact them. We recommend them for sure.

  • My daughter and I stayed at Mike and Nic’s place over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was cozy, warm, clean, spacious and peaceful. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly with small cafes and shops within walking distance (I recommend the Moonlight Cafe for breakfast). The nearby park had a spectacular view of the city. At nighttime, it was breathtaking. Although I only got to spend a little bit of time with our hosts, Mike and Nic, they were truly kind and down to earth people. If you want a real taste of the SF lifestyle, this is where to stay. When I go back, and I know it will be soon, Mike and Nic’s will definitely be my first choice of places to stay.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • Great host and nice private location. We would stay again.

    Simon2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home in an absolutely amazing area of San Francisco. The unit is compact but had everything we needed to feel at home. The bed was very comfortable; the WiFi always worked; the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. It was amazing to look out the beautiful French doors and see a lush (Website hidden by Airbnb) beautiful! As is noted in the description of the unit, there is no kitchen. There is a tiny refrigerator and a toaster oven and coffee maker, but you must wash your dishes in the bathroom. The location is excellent for access to Golden Gate Park and the Haight - Asbury neighborhood. It took only minutes to have an Uber or Lyft car at the door to take us to other locations in San Francisco. There are fun cafe's, restaurants, and bars within an easy walk of this home. Our host, Sara, replied quickly to any text we sent her regarding our stay. We were very satisfied with our experience.

    Ann2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great flat situated at the back of a beautiful Victorian house complete with its own entrance. The location was great, a short walk to the famous Haight & Ashbury area with bars and restaurants on one side and a convenient 10 minute walk for the tram into San Francisco in the other direction. The flat itself is really stylish and comfortable with a couple of couches and a very comfortable bed. The host Sara was extremely welcoming and accommodating allowing us to leave our bags with her on our last day so we wouldn't have to carry them everywhere. What really stood out about this place was the little touches like milk in the fridge and a chocolate by the bed which is absolutely lovely and made us feel very welcome. I would really recommend this flat for anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Lara2014-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed in Sara's flat the night before my wedding and couldn't have asked for a better place. The space is exactly as pictured, great energy, beautifully decorated, contemporary rustic, plenty of natural light flooding the space. Living rooms is super cozy with the fireplace. Space was immaculate, bed was warm and comfy. No kitchen, but there's a coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster. Sarah left some milk, OJ and beer which was a nice welcoming touch. Walking distance to downtown Cole Valley where you can find some nice restaurants and bars. Even a cheese shop if you want to bring wine & cheese to enjoy back at the pad. About a 10-15 min walk to Golden Gate park. If you're lucky, Sara's dog Boo might wander down to keep you company. He's the sweetest ever. He hung out with me and lounged outside peacefully while i was getting make-up done. Definitely a highlight of my morning. Only thing was wifi was a little patchy in the living space, but better in the bedroom. Ultimately a wonderful stay and would LOVE to come back. Thanks Sara!!

    Doris2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Just as described with a super adorable dog named Boo!

    Renée2014-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a great location. Lovely hospitality and all round great experience!

    Chelsea2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful visit to San Fransisco and the outer towns! Sara was so sweet and accommodating. We met her upon arrival where she showed us the place and gave recommendations to local spots and things to do. I texted her a few times and she was always quick to response. She put a lot of thought into her place as far as coffee machines (Nespresso!), flatware, plates, glasses, cleaning supplies, sponges, countless books on CA travel, maps, extra towels, sheets, comforters, access to washer/dryer...etc. Our only complaint is that the bed was a bit small. It was a full size bed with footboard, so my 6ft fiancé had trouble sleeping without his feet touching the footboard. There is a pull out bed in the living room, which we resorted to a few times to have more room to sleep. But other than that, the place was great! Great walking distance to a nice local pub we visited a few times and a park up the street (we wish we visited! Lol). Sara was great! Defiantly would recommend ;)

    Holly2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience with Airbnb. Sara has been great. She's been very easy to contact, was very helpful and the place has everything we could have needed. And the bed was heaven after our 14hour flight. There isn't a thing I could fault and I would definitely recommend to stay here if you are coming to San Francisco. We will definitely stay here again when we come back.

Private entry, sidewalk-level suite of living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath with artful touches in 1911 Edwardian. Close to beaches, GGate Park, GGate Bridge, groceries, cafes, restaurants on city-wide trolly line for memorable vacation/business/retreat. Easy drive to Marin.
The private sidewalk level suite, is clean and comfortable with original windows and doors providing natural light and fresh air. It's San Francisco living so you can be sure to hear the sounds of a trolley passing by and footsteps from people in the flat above. It’s real life in the City! SF STR permit number (4 zeroes) 949
We live in a friendly neighborhood with cafes and restaurants and world-class museums, situated perfectly to explore San Francisco’s extraordinary natural beauty. Just step out the yellow door and take a short walk on the “neighborhood path” to Baker Beach. A little bit further in any direction will lead you right to the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End and Ocean Beach. On your journeys spend time at the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park and the DeYoung Museum and the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Afterward head over to the Arboretum for a picnic lunch next to its its lakes and gardens. If you prefer to sidewalk explore, it's fun to walk down Clement Street from 25th Avenue to Arguello (1st Avenue) stopping in at Green Apple Books with its extraordinary offering of new and used, all sorts of pubs and Chinese restaurants (SF’s little Chinatown.) Live like a local and take the California 1 electric trolley - aka the unofficial tour bus - the full 7 miles across the city to the Ferry Building (about a 2 hour walk.) Jump on and off to meander through the City’s distinctly different neighborhoods - Fillmore District, Polk Gulch, North Beach - each makes San Francisco such a great place to visit and live. If you are looking for a movie and dinner, there’s Pizetta 211 and the Four Star Theater just around the corner, two neighborhood not so secret gems. There's something for everyone.
  • What an amazing little place! We could've lived in Dennis's apartment forever. So cozy and welcoming, and in the perfect spot to explore San Francisco. In particular, we loved that it was easy to get to the beach directly from the apartment, and it was right next to public transit, so downtown was easily accessible as well. The whole place was very clean and we loved the bottle of wine left out for us :) Thanks again Dennis -- It was an amazing stay!

    Chris2015-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best I've ever stayed in. Easy to find and in a quiet area perfect for a good nights sleep after long days of walking. Perfect distance to farmers markets and Golden Gate Park. They set up a perfect home away from home.

    Rachael2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife, 1.5 yr old daughter, and I had a great time staying here. There is a great deli on one corner and a small market on the other. There are also a few delicious restaurants within a few mins walk. We were also able to get to Golden Gate Bridge and the beach easily using the bus.

    Philip2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the BEST. So beautiful and comfortable. Great part of town with a great organic shop over the road and cafes down the street. Public transport right outside the door. Loved our stay here

    Juliet2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Good price and decent location. Could have taken the public transportation...but Uber was easier. Would stay there again.

  • We were in San Francisco for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dennis was very pleasant when we met and his place was exactly what we expected. The ability to walk to the beach was great.

    Corey2017-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis met me at the front door , he shared lots of useful info about the neighborhood and how things worked in the studio . I asked about a store to buy a bottle of wine and he gave me a bottle from his home !

    Geoff2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint, little apartment in a great location. The neighborhood is safe, easily walkable and close to the Golden Gate Bridge, beaches, parks, and great food. The apartment really has everything you need to stay there for awhile. It is in the basement with low ceilings, and it rained literally the entire time we were there so it felt a little dark and damp down there - I'm sure a little sunshine would take care of that, though! Parking was fine on most occasions, but we did have a very hard time parking one night of our stay, so I wouldn't rely on being able to find a close spot at all times. Dennis was a great host and gave us some great tips about the neighborhood.

The communication as we were booking the place, the check-in/check-out, and suggestions for what to do and what to eat were great. Everything in the place was high quality! Last but not least, Jeff and Mike were extremely nice people. We would definitely stay there again!

  • The out building is a perfect spot for a stay in Ventura. The decor is high-end and has all the facilities for a really comfortable stay. Jeffrey was a great host and we felt very welcome and were free to come and go as we liked. The bottle of wine left in the kitchen was a lovely gesture too. We would certainly stay here again when we come to visit our friends in the area.

  • Great communication. Easy arrival and departure procedures. Great neighborhood for walking to the parks. We loved it!

  • Overall we were very pleased we stayed here. Joshua has done a nice job of decorating the room with lots of quality amenities. A fully stocked kitchen, good quality appliances. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom nicely appointed. The beach is within easy walking distance and there is a nice selection of restaurants in the area and down on the beach. We did not have trouble finding parking on the street so that was good and the bus to downtown is less than a 5 minute walk. Very convenient. For me the only thing that crossed my mind is that we are paying a $100 cleaning fee and yet we are asked to break down the bed, towels in the hamper, etc. Not a huge issue by any stretch, but this area of SF has some of the higher cleaning fees I've come across. So if I'm paying more I normally expect more 'service'. All things considered, my 'duties' should entail cleaning up any mess I make, all the other 'stuff' would be looked after. Food for thought. On the second night we were awoken with some 'heavy' footsteps upstairs. We shared this and hopefully for future guests they'll have implemented a socks/slippers only policy at night :-) Joshua provided a good response to our comments. Overall a good stay and we would recommend this place without hesitation.

  • Joshua's appartment is absolutely stunning and totally clean. The beach is just a few minutes walk, as well as busses and a supermarket. Joshua always replied really quickly to my messages :)

  • Nice and cozy house. Yes it is a basement with the owner on the 1st floor but this didn't affect us at all. Well decorated and equipped, perfect for a short stay. Not central in the city centre but being in a big city such SF you better use a car for moving around. Parking is free, however it is true at late at night it might be a bit challenging to find a spot. Joshua was well communicative and was always available for any questions.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Josh and Lizzie's place and we had an amazing experience! They were out of town when we stayed so we never had the pleasure of meeting them, but they Seda was an awesome backup host. They provided us with very clear instructions and made sure our stay was awesome, which it was! They were even generous enough to let us park in their driveway, since they weren't home. The inside of their home looks just like the pictures, everything is extremely clean/neat and their bathroom is awesome. Just a heads up their shower isn't fully closed, it only has a single glass partition separating it from the rest of the bathroom, which is actually quite nice. Heater is strong and you'll definitely be warm throughout your stay. Clean towels and linens were provided as well and kitchen appliances. Literally everything you need is there already and if you somehow missed something there is a Walgreens and Safeway within a 2 minute drive. I had an awesome experience here, I am positive you will too :) Thanks Josh/Lizzie/Seda!

  • We had a fantastic stay at Josh's place. All the information you could ever hope to receive from a host was provided upfront, and communication was great both up to our arrival and during our stay. The apartment itself is lovely and in a great area, very quiet but with plenty of amenities and just a few blocks from both the beach and Golden Gate Park. You're within an easy bus ride of downtown and other areas such as Castro and Mission. Highly recommended!

Beautiful 1bedroom with balcony, classic bay windows and newly remodeled kitchen. Only 3 blocks from all the best shops, restaurants and night life in the city on Fillmore, Union and Chestnut. Walking distance from the Marina and Presidio. Best neighborhood in the city!
  • We had to add an extra night to our trip because of poor weather in NY. Blair helped us through the booking process quickly! The apartment was great, especially the location.

  • Lovely, lovely place!

    Stuart2014-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Blair's place is AMAZING!!! She is very easy to communicate with which made the entire trip a very pleasant experience. The location of the condo is perfect! We were able to see how the locals live. Close to Union and Chestnut Streets. Blair's condo is beautiful and very clean. There is a balcony off of the living area. A great place for a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. On my next trip to San Francisco I would love to stay at Blair's place again! Cheryl and Robert

  • Blair's condo is AMAZING and even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. Great windows and light in the apartment - I especially liked eating meals in the front dining nook. The apartment is decorated to the 9's. Comfortable, chick, and welcoming. I could not say enough good things. It is the dream place to stay and the location is amazing too!

    Jill2014-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Het appartement was precies zoals op de foto's. Mooi, schoon en een fijne omgeving om te zijn. We voelden ons meteen thuis.

    Monique2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Blair's home was absolutely stunning and met our expectations if not exceeded them. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. Everything was clean and neat. The neighborhood was great. We felt very safe and at home. There were a lot of good restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance from the house. Blair is a great host and very accommodating. A 10 out of 10 experience! Thank you Blair.

    Mary2014-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is a beautiful place - it's fun and comfortable and perfect for a San Francisco-style retreat. Blair made it really easy to enjoy the trip, and hope we get to come back someday!

Explore the heart of San Francisco from this designer studio. Unwind in this boutique, open-concept space with carefully selected decor or gaze out across the city from the rooftop terrace with 360-degree views, a BBQ, and a seating area.
Our studio includes parking for a compact, midsize, or entry-level luxury car. If your car doesn't fit (SUVs won't fit) you'll need to use street parking, which is metered, or pay for parking at a nearby garage. Check-in time depends on the day of the week. Absolutely no smoking is permitted in our studio. We also appreciate if guests avoid using strong perfumes/colognes while staying at our studio. This modern studio is located in one of SF's newer buildings. It has light brown floors, brand new furniture, and includes wifi and a 39 inch flat screen TV which streams Roku, Amazon Prime, Netflix and over 60 local channels. In addition to the everyday essentials expected in a modern home (heating, oven, fridge, etc), a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, iron, blow dryer and a washer/dryer are included for your convenience. Our unit is extremely quiet; excellent for getting a good night's rest on a cozy queen size bed. The building's common areas are monitored around the clock for your security. The entrance to Highway 101 - southbound (to the Peninsula) and northbound (to the East Bay) - is 4 minutes away. In the event 3 guests want to sleep on separate beds, you can use the daybed sofa which is around the same size as a single bed.
The building is located in the Civic Center area, in the middle of town, and is equal distance to all of the nightlife options and places of interest. Discover the city with close access to the water and the iconic Mission District.
  • This was a beautiful place in great location and the hosts were incredible

  • Carlos was an excellent host, communicating quickly and allowing me to extend my stay multiple times. The unit is exactly as described and well appointed. It has everything you need for a stay in the city for work or pleasure. Would definitely recommend!

    Jacob2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Carlos is great and quick with responses :)

    Aditya2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos is a great host! He gives a proper and thorough orientation to the building and the condo! He shows you how to access the “other” building, and I’m so glad he did! One day the elevator was closed to the garage for “moving” and I had to enter the other building to get into the garage to get my car. I wouldn’t have known what to do if Carlos hadn’t shown me that other buildings access to the garage (there is no on sight office here as it’s not an apartment complex). The place was white glove clean! I love the decor! Carlos was quick to respond to any communication efforts. I would love to stay here again!

    Margie2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • It was great staying at your studio for ~3 weeks. It's a great location, close to everything, but still quiet and comfortable indoors.

    M M Tauqir2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and I had a great experience. The apartment was just like the pictures: very clean and modern and had everything we needed. Carlos was also very helpful in showing us around the apartment. He was very generous in accommodating my requests to make my stay comfortable. He was prompt in his responses. Bed was super comfortable and having Netflix on the TV screen was a blessing. The studio itself and surroundings had everything we needed. So convenient, definitely recommend this place!

    Aniket2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • When you have great hosts, everything else falls in place. Carlos and Graciela were easily accessible when there was a need and made sure my stay was smooth. The studio apartment was clean and well equipped with all the amenities and was perfect for my stay.

  • We had such a lovely stay at Jan and Bernard's charming and well designed place. They are so thoughtful. They left out doggie treats for our little pooch and coffee and english muffins for us in the fridge! The listing is walking distance to all the small shops on Cortland, so very convenient. We'll be back!

  • Fantastic apartment in a beautiful neighbourhood. Amazing bars & eats within walking distance.....Jan and Bernard are wonderful hosts. Definitely recommended

    Riccardo2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully equipped studio apartment. It was so comfortable, immaculate, well decorated and lovely, with many personal touches. It felt like being home while away. Jan thought of everything that you could possibly need or want in this beautiful studio apartment. It made our time in San Francisco very special. I really liked the location and very close to restaurants, markets and transportation. Inexpensive and convenient Uber rides to everywhere else. I will stay there again when visiting San Francisco. Wonderful place and host.

    Doreen2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • It really is a beautiful place. I will definitely stay here again. One of my favorite Airbnb experiences. The hosts have thought about every small detail and more. It was extremely easy to check in & out. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

  • Great apartment - modern, clean and comfortable with everything you might need. Great location out of the city centre but very easy to get around on public transport - including to and from the airport. Great restaurants nearby as well as grocery store.

  • Very comfortable and lovely furnishings Very easy walk to the Bart station and restaurants and shops. Try Al's Place On Valencia or a host of places on courtald street The view from the hill is great

    Wendy2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jan and Bernard were lovely hosts, and the studio was the perfect temporary home for my dog and I. I booked a month and a half stay at the very last minute, and they were perfectly accommodating. The place was spotlessly clean with fresh cookies waiting when I arrived. They gave me a safe place to lock up my bike, quickly took care of any issues that arose during my stay, and when I locked myself out one night, they were there to help out. The place is definitely small, but the layout/furniture/etc make it feel like nothing is missing. Really enjoyed my stay!

  • Awesome trip to San Francisco ! This is a really nice city where people are cool and know what means Politness. We enjoy our week in the SF's area ! Concerning about the Linda's house, this is the perfect apartment to stay few days in San Francisco ! Well located with the bus, the apartment is super, very clean (and we could say "new"), luminous, opened on the garden, with its own entrance ! You can come and leave the house without disturbing Linda's family, which is a confortable aspect. If you did not take time to plan you stay in SF (transportation system map, tourisme advises....) don't worry, Linda had already prepared to you a summary of San Francisco ! Thanks a lot to Linda, this is perfect ! See you next time we come back into SF ! Emeric & Dorothée

  • Room was clean and nice size. Small kitchenette attached to studio/bathroom was a good size and organized with extra amenities which was a nice surprise. Never met the landlord which I thought was odd at first, but in retrospect if you want the utmost autonomy and privacy you will get it =) She was however, promptly responsive with her replies to my inquiries about the room and location etc. Easy to do business with. The only drawback (for my personal trip this time) was about proximity to downtown. After 3 trips downtown I realized in retrospect, that maybe i should have stayed a bit closer to downtown to avoid high cab costs... but if you want a lovely peaceful location with wide residential streets near the beach and awesome Golden Gate Park, this is THE place. =) Will definitely stay again. fair price for great room! Thanks Linda!

  • I booked late the night before my arrival, so I appreciated that I had a clean place secured.. I went up a flight of stairs to the front door, which was answered by Su, I believe. Through the class screen door she said I needed the combination and it was sent by text text. I had missed the second part of my text that gave me a combination to a gateBack downstairs. a few mins of seeking service, At&T required a walk uphill. A clean entry brought me to the garden suite and a clean bed. Also no att service in unit. I walked to the farthest reach of back yard that went uphill, thankfully.

    Janine2014-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great San Francisco find. The location is terrific and the suite is exactly as advertised. From the outside, the place is a bit non-descript, but the inside is extremely comfortable and private. I would definitely stay here again! The only minor difficulty was the street parking, but that's somewhat expected in SF.

    Heather2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Walking distance to GG Park, public transport and many coffee places. Great place to relax after long days exploring the city

    Dan2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The devil is in the details. Su communicated clearly, accurately, and swiftly to booking requests and inquiries. The listing was as described - impeccable, private, and thoughtfully appointed, including fresh linens, sleek kitchenette and spotless bath, and chocolates on the pillow! Access using keypad, which saves fumbling for keys and worrying about losing them. The neighborhood offers proximity to Balboa and Geary streets, with plenty of eatery options, including vegetarian. Easy access to major roadways, and affordable uber rides to nearby Presidio and Golden Gate Park. I highly recommend this site to anyone who treasures peace, quiet, and proximity to the city.

  • Fantastic place to stay. Ideal for us as a family with a young child. Perfect proximity to Golden Gate Park (less than 10 mins to art museum and Academy of Sciences). Short drives to SF zoo and Golden Gate Bridge. 20 min bus to downtown. Neighborhood is peaceful and full of character. The studio itself is great. Clean and cosy. The hosts are right there if you need them yet very respectful of privacy. A fantastic experience all round.

  • Chris and Rocky were great hosts! They answered all of our questions, provided information about local restaurants, and made us feel at home. Every detail, from the snacks in the kitchen to the toiletries and guidebooks, added a special touch. The apartment was beautiful and the location was perfect for us; not in the center of a touristy area, but a block from the beautiful Golden Gate park and close to the Presidio and Baker Beach, and easily accessible by public transportation, though we used UberPool, which cost about $6 for two of us from most areas of town. We can't wait to come back to San Fran and stay here again!

    Zoe2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the private garden studio! Chris is a great host and the studio had everything we needed. Super cozy, quiet and safe. We loved walking the half block to the beautiful Golden Gate Park and everything else was but a short Uber or walk away. Chris provides guide books and helpful information, like restaurants, cafes and is available with any questions. Loved staying here and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in a heart beat!

    Amy2016-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. The location is great. It was very clean, and has a lovely garden. Chris really went out of her way to offer us her help and make sure we were comfortable. Due to some work being done on the garden for a couple of days that we stayed, Chris purchased my Aunt Gina and I a gift certificate at a seafood restaurant to die for. Which really wasn't necessary, but much appreciated. My Aunt is very young and has had some serious health issues in recent years. She had never been to San Francisco. The apartment makes one feel as though you are a local, and the whole experience turned out to be very lovely and memorable for us both.

Imagine falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. This clean, quiet garden apartment is perfect for the nature loving city dweller. Steps from the beach, Golden Gate Park, the Zoo and more. Ample street parking and MUNI train 2 blocks away.
Private in-law apartment offering 2 beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable rooms. The bedroom includes a queen bed with crisp linens a down comforter, warm wool rug, beautiful art and closet and dresser for your belongings. The second room is a living space with a couch that converts to a full bed, a separate comfortable reading chair and lamp. The 42" flat screen is equipped with Apple TV and high speed wireless internet. The kitchenette is fully stocked with pots, pans and dishes. A microwave, toaster oven, electric kettle, 5 cup coffee maker, electric induction counter top range and small fridge complete the kitchen and make it operational for light cooking. Complimentary coffee, tea and a bottle of wine offered to all guests. The private bathroom is small but bright and clean with shower over tub, complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. The private garden has a bistro table making it a perfect spot for morning coffee while listening to the waves and surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Ample, free street parking available in the neighborhood.
The "outerlands" as this area of the city used to be called is where nature meets urban, widely and wonderfully. Families, surfers, artists, hipsters, techies and eccentrics come together to create a multicultural neighborhood that is dominated by the ocean and the sky! Really I think the Sunset District is San Francisco's best kept secret. It is clean and safe and quiet at night. You are about a half hour from the hustle and bustle of downtown (by car or public transport). Out here the streets are wider, the backyards bigger, and free parking is easy to find. People who like the outdoors love the location, especially for surfing, jogging, cycling, and hiking. Typically the Sunset can be foggy in June and July, but is clear and beautiful most of the rest of the year. Fall is stellar. Yearly temperatures hover in the 60-65 degrees. Golden Gate Park is only 4 blocks north and is filled with absolutely everything you can imagine: free concerts, archery ranges, entertainment pools, beautiful gardens, a bison paddock, polo field, duck ponds, and everything that you could possibly imagine! Including, The Academy of Science Museum, De Young art museum, and Japanese Tea Garden, The Arboretum and Conservatory of Flowers, plus great hiking, running and biking trails. We're also a popular destination for marathon participants and concert-goers, with events nearby like Bay to Breakers, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, and Outside Lands. There is a beautiful 5 mile walking path directly across from my home. It spans from Sloat Blvd. to the Cliff House/Sutro Baths. Popular restaurants include: Thanh Long, Outerlands, Cliff House, Beach Chalet & Brewery, Celia's Mexican Restaurant, Sunset Reservoir Brewery Company, Devils Teeth Bakery, Andy Town Coffee shop, Java Beach Café and many more. Great choice of shops selling locally made surfboards, jewelry and art... The Last Straw, San Franpsyco apparel, Establish and The General Store just to name a few.

  • Although I was just out there on business the area is very nice and I wish I could have spent more time exploring the beach area. The apartment is by far one of the best I have stayed in and Heather is a very nice host. If you want to be near the beach this is the place to stay.

  • Beautiful!! Perfect location near the beach. Downtown is very easy to go to with public transport that stops almost right next to this location! Heather is a wonderful hostess. The beachhouse is perfect, clean and has absolutely everything you need. And maybe even some more. If you want to visit SF (and believe us, you DO!) you should really stay here.

  • The place is exactly as presented. Clean cozy and across the street from the ocean. Parking is challenging.

  • An absolutely lovely place -- I felt right at home and had everything I needed! The bed was very comfortable, the coffee provided was delicious, and the outdoor garden patio area is perfect. The neighborhood is wonderful, too. Plenty of restaurants and cute shops, but the real gem is that it is literally steps from the beach and a beautiful sunset(!). Highly, highly recommended. Heather was a great host, too! Very friendly and accommodating.

Welcoming, helpful and we were happily surprised by a delicious homemade cake from Charlesie. Communication was perfect!

  • This was our first Airbnb and we couldn't have wished for a better experience! Charlsie and Tedd are lovely and made us feel so welcome. The apartment is in their basement, very clean and spacious, with the most comfortable sofa we've ever sat on! Charlsie and Tedd had left the fridge well stocked with strawberries, chocolate, butter and the most delicious scones. Their daughter and son in law have opened a bakery so we also got some more treats left on our doorstep - such a lovely touch. There are plenty of maps, leaflets and Charlsie and Tedd are more than happy to give you ideas/directions etc. The apartment is a 10/15 minute walk to the nearest BART station which is really easy to use - we were left clipper cards to load money on to and then it's 4 or 5 stops to the Embarcadero not long at all. Great neighbourhood everyone seemed very friendly. All in all a fantastic place to stay!

  • Charlesie and Tedd and are so, so nice!!!! Thank you very, very much!!!!

Holladay Home is a cozy one bedroom delux suite in Bernal Heights. It is a quiet place but close to the action. San Francisco and Bernal Heights in particular are known for the beautiful views but that means hills. You will love it here.
This rental is located on a quiet street but so close to all the action. You can feel safe leaving you car in front of my house (you get the spot in front of the garage so it will always be free). Inside you will find a fully renovated space. You will have one bedroom with a queen bed and a door. In the common space is a queen sized bed and fold out queen futon to comfortably sleep 6 (TO CLARIFY: while we do offer 6 sleeping places we recommend this only for families with children or very short stays as the space is better for a max of 4 people). There is a beautiful Japanese sliding door that separates the space so you can have some privacy from the front door if you like (a good friend of mine built the door by hand out of Canadian Cedar so they smell nice and are a personal treasure of mine). Amenities You will have a mini fridge, microwave, and toaster oven, coffee maker and electric tea kettle. There is no official kitchen so you will need to use the bathroom sink to wash dishes but it is nice and spacious. I have provided dishes and utensils for your convenience. The bathroom is equipped with towels, hand soap and toilet paper so please let me know if anything is running low. There is also a washer and dryer in the main house which you may use but the times will need to be coordinated. There is a fantastic hot tub in the back yard. We can’t guarantee that it will be available (things go wrong and it may not be in perfect working condition at all times. If you want to use it, let me know so we can coordinate and show you the ropes. Access You will have access to the entire apartment with a bedroom, renovated bathroom; tub and glass sliding door, queen sized bed, dresser, dining table with 4 chairs, fold out couch and antique closet (it's nice to look at but please don't try to open it) Since you have your own key you can come and go as you like. We do have a patio and a hot tub that may be available upon request so please coordinate with me before you arrive if you would be interested in using it and I'll let you know if it's available. The dogs have access to this area too so just let me know if you would prefer they not be out there when you are. Me My husband and I live in the unit upstairs with our two dogs. We try to be considerate but we live upstairs so there will be some noise. We are happy to help out in any way. My dogs are very sweet but they may bark at you when you arrive (they get very excited and assume you are coming to see them). There is a very nice front deck that you are welcome to enjoy. It is located right next to the upstairs front door. Since you have your own private entrance and access to the lockbox key it is possible that we completely miss each other for the entire stay. The key will be located in a lock box (the code is provided once you book). Also there is a door in your bedroom that leads to our back yard but it can be locked so we can not enter your space. THE NEIGHBORHOOD I am absolutely nuts about the neighborhood (I mean, after all I bought a house here). It is the sunniest part of the entire city and has some of the best views (up the hill at Bernal Park). It is quiet and safe but also has access to all the city has to offer. I like to think of it as the secret gem of San Francisco. I hope you will have time to experience some of what the city, and specifically my neighborhood has to offer. First of all walking into the mission by Precita park is a pleasure. Follow Precita street to Folsom and walk into the Mission. Some of the most exciting culture and street art lives there just on the walls of your walk. When you get to 24th street walk either left or right and enjoy the food and shops up and down the street. If you go left you will eventually reach the Bart at Mission street. If you are up for more of a walk take a right on Mission street and enjoy the heart of the Mission district. You will often see street performers or people selling wares in the plaza by the Bart stop (don't be surprised if you also see a few street people). If you make it all the way up Mission to 18th street take a left and head all the way to Dolores street where you will find one of the most best secrets of SF; Dolores Park. Here you will find interesting people, dogs playing, people selling snacks (Be aware many of the snacks have weed in them. Be sure to ask) there is also a children's playground that is brand new and pretty amazing!! If you walk up the hill you will get pretty spectacular views of the city (that hill is also called Gay Beach by locals because that side of the park lies along the Castro and many men from the neighborhood meet in that park of the park to picnic and chat and lay out in the sun) ATTRACTIONS Food The easiest is Precita Park Cafe. Located just by the park at Precita and Alabama. An easy walk from the house (although on the way home you have a decent hill to navigate) For brunch (since most people are in a hurry) I recommend St Francis (24th and York). It has amazing greasy spoon food but all organic and as healthy as you can make it. The staff here is exceptionally nice and it is a true SF hub so you will see all kinds of real SFians. There are a ton of taquerias in the Mission district and most are exceptional. There are a bunch of places named El Farolito but my favorite is the one at 24th and Alabama. For vegetarians: Most places will easily serve you vegetarian means but Gracias Madre makes vegan food amazing!! – Vegan Organic Fresh Mexican food (2211 Mission (email hidden)). I recommend you use (website hidden) and search in the area for food to find your pleasure. Best Italian around here is Delfina, reservations recommended (3621 18th street). Sugoi Sushi (1058 Valencia street) will surprise and delight you with its fine balance of humbleness and sophistication. Escape from New York Pizza (3342 22nd street) is your best option for pizza by the slice or ordering a pie. Sit down pizza/salad place a bit more fancy and great for people watching is Farina at the corner of Valencia and 18th st. Coffee I know very little about coffee but those who are say this is a great neighborhood for coffee. Check out Philz and Ritual. Both very close on foot. If you like pastries with your coffee, check out the croissants and bread pudding from Tartine (600 Guerrero Street). It’s a long line, but if it’s just for coffee don’t get in line, just go straight inside and order at the coffee bar. Ice Cream Humphry Slocombe (2790A Harrison street) and Bi-Rite Creamery (3692 18th street) Cocktails Lone Palm (you can see the tree that names the bar and stands tall in front of it from my window!) at 3394 22nd street. It’s divey, but reliable. Grocery Stores The most convenient is the small deli on the corner of Precita and Florida. For more healthy, fancier food check out Harvest hill Market on the corner of Precita and Folsom. Other than that there are many Safeway stores and also tons of produce stands in the Mission. Live Music The Chapel (777 Valencia street my husband and I were married here:), Amnesia (853 Valencia Street) and Elbo Room (647 Valencia street) are small venues along Valencia Street. There is also Café Revolution (it’s free music, but is also hit or miss: could be awesome or awful. It’s always worth taking a look at what’s going on there though) at 3248 22nd street. Art and other Cool things 826 Valencia, the pirate store supply/creative writing workshop, is a must go. Right near it, City Art gallery shows local art and Paxton Gate offers exotic gardening and 24th street has lots of cool art galleries as you go down towards the deep inner Mission District. Thrift stores and cool boutiques galore. Nature Precita Park is the easiest. Is located about 6 blocks away at Precita and Alabama. Also you can walk up the hill to Bernal Hill. This is a suprisingly large city park with some of the best views in the city. Dolores Park is about a 30 minute walk but great for people watching, or take the Muni bus to Golden Gate Park or the Ocean Beach. GETTING AROUND Car If you have a car it is great for getting out of the city but I don't recommend doing much driving in the city. (Just leave the car front of the house in the spot that blocks the driveway. It will always be free. The only time parking is not allowed is between 12-2 on Wednesdays-just move your car across the street). Be sure to remove all valuables from your car as break-ins do happen all over the city of SF and you can never be too careful. A smashed window can put a damper on your trip. In general in the city parking is expensive, roads are confusing and traffic is usually pretty annoying. If you do head out of the city for a day trip there are amazing things to see in every direction. Mass Transit BART - If you instead want to enjoy the city on foot and with public transit you should check out BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit - our version of the subway). Bart is great but does not cover the whole city) Fortunately for you it is located pretty close to the house (about a 15-20 minute walk) and will take you downtown and to Oakland. MUNI - If you want to visit other places I recommend you check out MUNI. The bus system can be a little confusing but will get you anywhere you want to go. People are friendly, just ask them:) Car Share - My final recommendation for transport is to use one of the cooperative car share systems. It is just like a cab but better!! Go to the site and register. Lyft is one of the best things to ever grace SF. It is a taxi service with a mobile app. You request a ride, they come to you and it is charged to your credit card. The taxi system in SF is a mess so I would not expect to call a cab and have them show up (if they find a fare on the way to you, they will take it and leave you in a lurch). If you are new to Lyft and loading it for the first tine, use code maury7 for s discount in your first ride. WEATHER Last piece of advice. Even if the weather is great now it will get about 20 degrees colder around 4 pm. Always, always bring layers (a windbreaker and scarf are gold in this city). Enjoy!
The best part about this neighborhood is the weather, hands down. Because of the geography of the city some places are more foggy than others. We are lucky to have very little fog. There are also two beautiful parks within just a few blocks. The one up the hill, called Bernal Hill has some of the best views of the city. You can see the entire city with a 360 view, the Golden Gate and the Bay Bridge. It is really quite spectacular. There is also a smaller park about 6 blocks away that is great for laying around in the sun and people watching. It has become the "hip" park in the city. It is not uncommon to see a small casual wedding, funny hipsters trying to lay in the park in "hip" clothes and every other walk of life enjoying the sunshine with BBQs and picnics and frisbees. Check out videos about local spots to check out on our channel: https://app.welcometv.net/videoList/Vbx-D_koniBG1_p7F0z8iw
  • We had a great stay at Maury's apartment. The pro's: - spacious and cozy apartment (the Japanese doors are a great touch) - calm neighborhood - good location if you have a car: easy street parking and very close to the highway (which you can hear well from the street, but not at all from within the apartment) - very good bed - great rain shower One thing you should consider however is the location. While I'm convinced this is a great location to be living in San Francisco, it is not the most central location from a tourist point of view. The apartment is located on a hill, so it is 142 stairs up/down from/to public transport. The BART is 20 minutes walking. Muni (bus) stop is closer, but during the day the Muni is quite slow to get downtown (traffic!). So do expect quite some time walking and on public transport to get downtown and to Marina district. On the positive side, this apartment brings you to a very nice district (Mission) you might otherwise not discover. A good alternative would be to use Uber, but this is difficult if like us you do not have mobile internet available. So just be aware of this, but the apartment is certainly worth it. Contact with Maury was fast, easy and no nonsense: we got all the information we needed. Check-in was with a key in a lockbox for which we got a code in advance, which was perfect as it gave us maximum flexibility to arrive when we wanted.

  • This apartment in Bernal Heights was a great base for our 4 day stay in San Francisco. Spacious enough for a family of four even though we did miss a bit a small kitchen with a stove and a sink and a small table to sit on for breakfast. The parking space is a great plus and we liked the proximity to the mission district with all the bars, restaurants and shops. Maury is a great host and everything worked out fine during our stay and our kids loved Maury's two cute dogs. Maury, many thanks for having us Best regards Muriel and Dirk

  • Maury was a fantastic host and the studio apartment was perfect for my four girlfriends and I to stay at during our weekend in SF. This was the first time many of us had stayed in an airbnb and it was a great experience. The neighborhood is adorable and very close to everything without being in the middle of it. Maury was very responsive with my random questions related to our stay and she was a very laid back host. She was even fostering puppies during our stay and we got the play with them! The studio was comfortable, quiet, clean and the extra amenities (like the coffee maker, toaster and mini fridge) were great since we didn't have to eat out for every meal. Everything was set up upon arrival and there were plenty of towels, bedding and extra toiletries. The neighborhood was safe and the free parking space was a huge plus. We really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave!

Located in the Bayview district, the apartment sits on a park with views of the bay and some of the best weather in San Francisco. The unique area is known for its growing art and food scene, diverse population, and a low key vibe that locals love.

  • Unit was as described. We had a short walk to the light rail. Unfortunately we were not able to try local eateries, our loss! Kristin and Matt were most helpful from getting coffee maker straightened out to navigating the city. Great stay, our first time in San Francisco.

  • Lovely (Website hidden by Airbnb) and my friend stay there 2 nights but we wish more. It is much better then you see in the pictures. Very clean and lovely decorating apartment. The location is safe and close the city center.

    Cana2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kristin's place was super hip and the decor was amazing! We loved the spot and although (as she states in the about) it isn't super close to downtown you can definitely catch a quick uber, train, or drive in. I loved the little Bayview area, there was a Ritual Coffee nearby. The space was cute, large, clean, she communicates very well, and the beds were comfy! Would definitely recommend!

    Laura2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Kristin's special, cozy and comfy place was amazing. It is located between the airport and downtown San Francisco, with a muni station down the road. So getting there and around is pretty easy. Kristin was super helpful from the beginning to the end of our trip. And always pretty fast in responding to questions of all kinds. Looking for an unique place to stay in SF? Don't look further!

    Susann2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kristin's flat is a little gem nestled on a quiet street in Bayview. There is a great playground up the Hill and an awesome pizza place down the hill. The flat is cute and has a nice design touch that makes you feel good. The stove heats up quick and the sheets are soft and cozy. Great find!

  • Kelly's place is beautiful! It's conveniently located in the city and is within walking distance of the beach and Golden Gate Park. There is also easy access to public transportation and plenty of coffee shops, bars and restaurants within the area. We had a seamless checkin/checkout and never had any issues during our stay. We would definitely return when we visit again!

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience staying with Stephen and Brian for our first trip to San Francisco. Quick communication about check in etc. made traveling way less stressful, and the location can't be beat for the value. Plus we received local tips that were super helpful in planning out our days. 10/10 would recommend and would stay again!

    Alexis2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's place is gorgeous. I personally really like historical stuff so just walking around his house was a great entertainment for me. Despite the antique environment, his the room is really clean and the bed & blanket is sooo nice. I really wanted to take the blanket with me. The two cats are really cute too. Stephen and Brian are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, so we asked them a lot. They also put lots of brochures in the room, so that was helpful too. Another thing was that they have a map where all the guests get to pin where they are from, and I was so touched(?) by that. I think it's really thoughtful of them and shows me that they take airbnb seriously. Overall, I really liked my stay at their house. Would definitely come back!

    Steph2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stephens place is in a great location and close to the trolley & muni bus routes. Uber is so cheap especially if you share a ride. The space is quite busy, its a library for Stephen & Brians large book collection. They have lots of pamphlets of local attractions, restaurants etc. Duboce Ave cafe is fab & such varied food choices. Visiting from England food is quite different but main difference is the portions. BIG!

    Eileen2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location, the hosts attentive and great value for money - albeit with its own small quirks

    Duncan2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • This GREAT place is located on a very quiet street near Duboce Park and walking distance (5 minutes) to delicious restaurants and cool shops as well as close to public transportation. Stephen & Brian are amazing hosts. Their house is comfortable, warm & inviting like them. Great views from the kitchen. Comfortable bed, I slept like a rock! Beautiful view from my window of the Sun coming up... great way to start the day. I would highly recommend staying here and meeting this great guys.

    Aaron2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great space in a great location! We loved everything about our visit to SF, especially this room. It is close to many very interesting neighborhoods, and the hosts were open and interested in helping us find fun adventures and food

    Christina2018-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Brian were great hosts. The bed was comfy. The cats were cute and friendly. The location is amazing, plenty of good areas to explore nearby. If you are looking for recommendations Brian and Stephen are more than happy to help.

  • What a great place to stay!! Bus a few steps away to all the way downtown, if you can tear yourself away from the gorgeous beach which is about 5 blocks away. Great comfortable bed, lovely outdoor garden, and a host who welcomes you with a bottle of wine and chocolates. Don’t miss this place!!!

  • We stayed at Fionas place for 10 days and had a great stay. Fiona had been extremely helpful up to our arrival with fixing a baby bed and a highchair so our one year old had all she needed. We were really thankful of that we could rest asure that everything was ready for our first big trip with our daughter. The place itself is really cosy with all you need even for rainy days when you just want to stay in. The neighborhood is really awesome as well. Perfect location a few minutes walk from the beach and the park and close to a cosy area on Balboa street in Outer Richmond where there are great restaurants and local shops. We had ten wonderful days!

  • Had a fantastic stay. We really enjoyed taking the bus into downtown, convenient with the bus stop outside. Quick walk to the beach was great with shopping at Safeway if you needed any supplies. The accommodation easily accommodated the four of us. We were extremely comfortable and would definitely recommend airbnb. Lovely neighbourhood and felt safe. The bottle of wine and chocolates were a lovely added bonus.

  • Budi Was a nice host, The room is big and we had The possibility to park The Car just infront. The neighbour Was nice with many restourants and The park. You will ha e to share The bathroom with otterrà guests.

    Gianmarco2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first airbnb trip and Budi made it quite easy. We came in on a late flight and he provided specific instructions on how to get access into the house and to the bedroom. When we got into the bedroom, it was exactly as it was pictured. He even left us some food and drinks in case we were hungry or thirsty when we arrived. When we got in the kitchen, we were greeted by a wonderful tenant who showed us around the kitchen and what we could use. The only issue with this visit was the shower. The shower had a very low flow of water that it was difficult to shower. The shower took three to four times longer than it would normally take because of the water flow. I contacted Budi and he was receptive as to the issue and said that a plumber would come take a look. Unfortunately, the issue occurred during our visit. On the other hand, at the end of our trip, we needed to keep our belongings in the house while we toured the city on the last day before going home on our flight. He wonderfully allowed us to keep our belongings in the hallway after we checked out and greeted us when we picked up our belongings.

  • This is my 2ND stay in 2 months and like the 1ST time, it was of great value. I met Budi this time and he was very warm and cordial and made me feel right at home. If you're looking for a splendid location, quiet, private, and convenient: this is the place. I'll be back again in a few weeks.

    Barry2015-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Budi was very hospitable and friendly. He made sure that I had everything I needed. The space was even better than I was anticipating from the pictures. A big private room, in the perfect location for me. Running through Golden Gate Park was lovely, and so close to where I was staying! Budi also graciously responded to me missing my flight and getting in significantly later than I anticipated.

    Mickey2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stay in Budy and Pat place is great. I would have love to spend more time there. I stay only one night, I went back with a good souvenir from their personnality, very helpful. The room is nice and very comfortable. Budy is amazingly precise to host (through phone) even though is not there to host me when I arrive. Every rule is clear, which make me very confortable. The neighboor is nice with a couple of restaurant, and shop, if anything is needed.

    Cédric2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • The room was just as described in the picture and Budi was a very hospitable person! Would definitely stay there again. It's a great location and Budi is a wonderful person! ^^

    Austin2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay at Budi's place. The house is a little aged but it gives the place character. That being said you may hear your neighbors in the other rooms but nothing to bad if they are considerate. The house was a little chilly so make sure to dress in layers. Bed is comfortable and the shower is hot.

    Calvin2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place: clean, easy to find and a very warm welcome from Budi. I particularly appreciated the extra little touches: bottled water in the room, snacks etc.... very welcome after a long flight. Highly recommended.

This lovely, self-contained suite will feel like your own private hideaway, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city and surrounding greenery, and access to all the neighborhood cafes, restaurants and shopping you'll need to make your stay perfect. Although it's on the 4th floor with many stairs to climb, the view and privacy will make the effort well worth it.
This lovely 1-bedroom suite in Cole Valley has a bathroom, small kitchenette and private deck overlooking the city and takes up the entire top floor of our classic Victorian house. It is decorated with soothing earth-tone fabrics and charming seascape paintings, and will be a relaxing retreat whether you're in town for work or vacation. I will mention that to get to this lovely apartment does involve lots of stairs to climb, some of them up a steep spiral staircase, since it's on the 4th floor and set above the street. But the view and light are well worth the climb. (See notes on PARKING in last paragraph below) It has one extremely comfortable queen-sized bed and chaise with terrific views of the city, as well as a twin bed tucked away in a nook in the bedroom. It has a living room with a twin-size daybed that has a pop-up twin trundle bed underneath, to comfortably sleep two people. It also has a small kitchenette, a desk, free wifi and cable TV. The large deck also has magnificent views of the city. It is situated in lovely Cole Valley, and is a short walk to Golden Gate Park (great for running, walking, or just exploring beautiful gardens and nature), the Haight-Ashbury, and steps from public transportation (1 block to the bus stop, 2 blocks to the N-Judah train stop; we do not have a garage) and very close to the charming restaurants, shops and services of Cole Valley and the Haight (including a short stroll to Whole Foods and other natural food stores). This apartment is perfect if you're in town for work or just in town to relax and visit! In terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take an Uber or cab here, a bus, the Super Shuttle or the MUNI train (it's right on the N line-- towards Ocean Beach if you're coming from downtown/ Civic Center; the N-Judah if you're coming from the other direction). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Civic Center stop from the airport, and transfer to the MUNI "N" line, going toward Ocean Beach. Our stop is Stanyan Street (at the intersection of Stanyan and Carl streets). We are extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while we don't have a parking spot, it's a fairly easy neighborhood to find free parking in. However, while parking is free, it is not unlimited. They ticket every two hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, so you need to either move your car by 10 am (not too hard, there are usually spots to be found, and most people start their day by then anyway), or park in a nearby parking lot (Kezar Parking Lot is within a 10 minute walk down the street on Stanyan near Frederick Street, and you can pay to park all day for ~$20-~25 for 24 hours, should you want to leave your car there for the day). There are also some streets nearby (Rivoli street, for example) where you can park round the clock for ~48 hours for free and they don't ticket, but you have to search a bit for those spots as everyone wants them!
Strolling Cole Valley’s tree-lined streets often leads to a postcard-worthy afternoon. It's easy to spend a day enjoying Cole Valley's idyllic vibe, admiring the neighborhood’s Victorian architecture and snacking at its cozy cafes and charming restaurants. Cole Valley’s proximity to Golden Gate Park and Haight-Ashbury promises countless options for wholesome fun and eclectic entertainment.
  • Stacey's home under the roof is just wonderful! We enjoyed every minute and had a great time! We will def. come back!

    Claudia2016-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey and her home were absolutely perfect. She was the most pleasant and lovely host right from the start; very responsive to all my questions prior to our stay, and completely available and happy to help with anything while we were there. The house itself was everything we expected (the pictures and written description were very accurate). We were completely comfortable (two adults and one 5 year old) and loved everything about the place. The deck overlooking the city was a real gem, and my daughter was giddy with excitement over her twin bed lovingly tucked away in a nook in our bedroom. It really was the perfect house and we were sad to leave after our 3 days (I wish we had stayed in SF, and at Stacey's place, for longer!). I would 100% recommend Stacey and her home, and would definitely want stay again. Thank you for everything, Stacey!

    Debbie2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey was a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is fantastic and the apartment very charming - with a great view. Everything you need. We will be back.

    Linda2013-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cute and cozy, and Stacey is really organized. There were signs and labels for everything, and many amenities provided for. The view is great and even the futon was comfortable. The stairs are a little scary (especially in heels) but the automatic lights are very guiding. I did hear the baby from the floor below, but it wasn't loud enough to wake me, and I'm a light sleeper. Be sure to walk softly as the floors are creaky. I'm definitely planning on staying here again the next time I go to SF!

    Chris2014-03-03T00:00:00Z

    Isabelle2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The top floor apartment was a perfect space for 2 couples. We had lots of space and were very comfortable during our stay.beautiful views even from the bathroom, great location for exploring a wonderful neighborhood.loved the restaurants.walked to golden gate park, twin peaks, etc.a definite repeat.thanks, Stacey for a beautiful staycation.

Our downstairs studio is like a hotel room with its own entrance, a kitchenette, bathroom and a comfy bed. Our home is close to public transportation and lots of shops, restaurants and parks. It is near the lively Mission district and quaint Cortland Ave. There is easy access to 80, 101 and 280 if you're driving south or east. Its best for 1 or 2 people, but might be able to accommodate a couple with 1 child. A small dog would be okay, but there is no outdoor area.
The studio is about the size of a small hotel room, with a queen size bed, smart TV you can watch your own streaming service on, breakfast table and chair, a side chair. There is a closet for your use. The kitchenette includes an under-counter refrigerator, sink, and microwave, as well as an electric kettle and a French press coffee maker. We provide coffee and tea for you to make yourself. There are glasses, mugs, plates and bowls. There is silverware, a can opener, a bottle opener. We provide granola, oatmeal and some light snacks or breakfast items. The shower and toilet are each behind a wall for privacy, and there is a heavy curtain separating the bathroom from the studio. There is a door for the toilet. However, the bathroom is not a completely separate room, so the studio is best for people who are comfortable with one another. Our studio is cozy and quiet, and with the curtain pulled to cover the glass entry door, it is quite private. There is no outdoor space. There is a smart TV and you can sign into your own streaming TV service.
Our home is in Bernal Heights. We are on the North-West corner, and our home has a view of both Twin Peaks and Downtown, although there is not a view from the studio. Bernal Heights is hilly, with great views, some steep streets, stairways and tiny parks tucked into side streets. From the park at the top of our hill, there is a 360-degree view of the City, including the bay, the Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate bridge, Twin Peaks, Downtown, Mt Diablo and south to the airport. During baseball season and at the 4th of July, fireworks are often visible from our hill. There is a very sweet commercial street with restaurants, shops and a library. Several parks are nearby for strolling, playing, picnicking and dogs. Our neighborhood is south of the Mission neighborhood, but still within walking distance of the lively nightlife there. It is quieter and cleaner than some of the Mission streets, but not so far from the center that anything is difficult to get to. Bernal Heights was voted America's Hottest Neighborhood in 2014 on the real estate site Redfin: (URL HIDDEN)
  • We loved to staying in Angela's studio. It was gorgeous, everything was well thought to the detail. Even it is a small place you feel very comfortable. We would stay there again without any doubt!

    Miguel2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Angela’s studio was very cosy and chic. She has an awesome array of breakfast amenities at the breakfast bar and some great tips for food and destinations around the neighborhood. There is no tv in the room, which I initially thought wouldn’t matter but from walking around SF all day we were wore out pretty quick and wanted to relax with some tv; thankfully there was complimentary WiFi! So we had no problem watching some on our phones. We would definitely stay here again!

    Seth2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was fun and clean. As a solo traveler I felt safe comfortable and the listing had everything I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The record player was a nice touch.

  • This studio is super trendy and modern. The record player is such a nice touch, honestly bought a record the day before checking in just to play it. Angela has an emergency box that you could find things that you never knew you needed!! There’s also snacks and coffee. Before arrival I thought the space might be a bit tight and small but it was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I!! Highly recommend!

    Thuanh2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at this place for 1-3 Monday nights per month for the last 6 months (traveling for work). This place was a great place to get some peace, quite, and rest. It was always clean and had a great selection of tea! It's about a 12 minute walk from the 24th and Mission BART and the last 3 minutes is uphill soooo it also forced me to get my workout in :) I really recommend this place. Comfy bed, fluffy pillows, tea!, and a wonderful shower. Great place to unwind after a long work day. I also recommend bringing earplugs because the noise from upstairs travels. I sleep with earplugs every night so it didn't bother me too much but it might bother any fellow light sleepers out there.

    Tannia2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your cozy and quaint studio!!

This spacious room fits up to 2 adults comfortably. We are located in a safe neighborhood only 30 min bus ride to the heart of downtown SF. There are plenty of yummy restaurants in the area.
  • Annie was very flexible because we needed to leave our bags early before the check-in time. The room was extremely clean and smelled good too! As others mentioned, there is a shared kitchenette with a microwave and sink and a mini-fridge in our room which was perfect for us. The room was the perfect size for two people and the drive was not too far from the city. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Annie!

  • Clean, comfortable if a little small. Off street parking, main floor apartment were pluses and the deck was wonderful

    Jill2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Čisté ubytování, super domluva s Annie na příjezdu a dobré spojení na letiště. Akorát čtvrť nepůsobí moc bezpečně. Je tam venku dost potulujících se skupinek, takže doporučuji rozhodně ve dvou.

  • great place for the value. very simple and a little like a hospital room with all the white and plastic on the bed but for the price its a great value. Annie is very nice and does provide a couple of things you may need. I would definitely recommend

  • Clean studio with a nice outdoor space. Annie was a nice host and we appreciated the parking spot!

  • Annie's place was extremely cozy. Definitely staying here again on my next trip to San Fran.

    Jesse2015-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Annie was a wonderful host, and very helpful at all times. She lived in the apartment above and was always prompt to respond to any questions I had, so be rest assured you’ll be well supported at all times with any questions you have. The room is clean and accurately described, the kitchen is shared with one other guest, who I didn’t bump into once, so it was practically a private kitchen. I’d say the location it’s just outside of the main city but you can take a 30-40 bus ride straight into SF downtown, and from there you can pretty much get anywhere in no time at all. Overall it was a nice place to stay, my commute to Palo Alto was a little longer, but getting into SF was super convenient.

    Jermaine2015-12-01T00:00:00Z

Enjoy a luxurious stay in this private 1Bed/1Bath suite in an historic 1912 building. Perfectly located between the Castro and the Mission, walk to all the restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and amenities that these neighborhoods have to offer.
This 1 bed/1 bath suite is on the first floor (up one flight of stairs from the street). The suite was beautifully remodeled in 2012 while still retaining 1912 details such as cove ceilings, hardwood floors and period woodwork. The bedroom features a queen-size bed with luxurious bedding, ample closet space and a bay window with seating that overlooks 17th Street. The bathroom includes a hand shower, tub, towels and organic bath supplies. There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom for those rare hot days and wall heater in the hall for the cooler months. The suite also has high-speed WiFi and Cable HDTV with hundreds of channels. There is no kitchen, but the suite includes a coffee maker, electric kettle, refrigerator and microwave. Of course, there are many restaurants, cafes and coffee shops nearby -- check the guidebook for our recommendations.
Mission Dolores is centrally located between the Castro and the Mission. It includes Mission Dolores -- the oldest building in San Francisco, and Dolores Park -- one of the most popular parks in the city. As you may know, the Castro (centered 4 blocks west) is the historic gay center of San Francisco -- it features restaurants, bars, the Castro Theater, shopping, and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and day spas. The Mission (centered 3 blocks east) is a historically Latino neighborhood. It, too, features restaurants, bars, the Roxie Theater, shopping and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and boutiques.
  • Even though I never met Marc, he was attentive, responsive and helpful from beginning to end. Not that he needed to be. The apartment is sparse but clean and well-presented. Access is easy. The set up is really accurately presented on the website. Marc even provided a turnaround on linen and towels in the middle of my stay. A fabulous, quiet crash-pad in the Mission, within easy reach of anywhere you might want to go. A great experience.

    Roger2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice studio that is exactly as described. I used to live in the area and enjoyed walking around, checking out the shops and cafes. I recommend Mark's place and would stay again.

    Kate2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • It’s really closed to Mission Dolores Park, great neighborhood. You can’t use kitchen but there is a microwave. And there are a lot of good restaurants around Mission street.

    Takeru2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Small but very cool place in the heart of Mission. I recommand it because we loved the neighborhood and all the greats restaurants in it. Mission Dolores park is awesome for happy hours..

  • A cozy apartment in the Mission District. It’s close to many bars, restaurants and grocery stores. The place is not large, but it’s certainly well kept and has all the necessities - bedroom, bathroom, and small kitchen. It’s the perfect place for anyone who’s looking to spend most of their time exploring the city.

NOVEMBER 2017: Kathy: “This spot was perfect. The neighborhood felt safe and boasts many lovely spots for a meal. The lodging was sparkling clean and exactly as described. Beds were comfortable, plenty of linens, bathroom boasted hairdryer, shower gel/shampoo/conditioner dispenser. Lots of tour guidebooks and reading materials on site. Wifi worked perfectly. Electric lock system meant not worrying about keys. There is a market within walking distance on Clement to stock up on necessities.”
JANUARY 2018: Fernanda & Family - We had a great time at Christine's place. This place is beautiful, comfortable, neat, clean, well kept, quiet, well equipped and the location is excellent. The neighborhood is quiet. It was a very comfortable place for my family. We always found a parking space nearby (within a block or two). It has markets, restaurants and shopping nearby. You can tell Christine makes an effort to make her guests feel at home, we found maps, city guides, books, restaurant menus, and all sorts of info that made our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!! San Francisco Registration: STR-(ON-FILE) Accommodations: Charming 2 bedroom with private entrance in San Francisco's Richmond District. We can accommodate 6 guests (1 queen, 1 queen, 1 sofa bed - 2 small children or 1 adult). Access to fully equipped Kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Dining Table for 2, 4 or 6 people. Full Bathroom with shower over tub. Laundry. Cable TV and Free WIFI. Free daily and overnight street parking (guests should observe signs posted on each street regarding street cleaning schedules and parking restrictions). Neighborhood: Walk a few blocks to the Presidio and Kid-Friendly Parks. The Golden Gate Park is 5 blocks away and offers many festivals throughout the year, including: Bluegrass Festival, Raggae in the Park and Outside Lands. Great Dining and Shopping. The Richmond district offers a diverse culinary experience at prices that are more affordable than other parts of the city. The Clement Street Farmer's Market, on Sunday mornings, offers a great selection of fresh local produce and gourmet food selections. Public Transportation: Public transportation is within a 1 to 3 block walking distance. The closest transit lines are the 1 - California, the 38 - Geary, the 2 - Clement and the 28 - Daly City. We offer a clean, comfortable place in one of the worlds most popular destinations at a great value. When we are home, we can have as much or as little interaction as you'd like. Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything The Richmond district offers a diverse culinary experience at prices that are more affordable than other parts of the city. During your stay you will have a more realistic native San Franciscan experience than the touristy areas of the city. National Geographic Best Trips of 2015 lists: The Presidio, San Francisco (we are located right next to The Presidio & 5 minutes from The Golden Gate Bridge) From Spanish Conquistadores to Star Wars If the San Francisco Peninsula resembles a forearm ending in a fist, then the Presidio is the topmost knuckle-by-the-Bay. The virile park of viridian woods and knockout vistas can make travelers forget its original function was for war, not Instagram. To San Franciscans, it's both muse and playground—with the latest addition being the newly reopened Officers' Club, reimagined as a local hub for exhibits, performances, and dining. Established by Spanish conquistadores in 1776, the military garrison of Saint Francis and its 2.3 square miles defended the bay from any invaders tempted by the riches of Alta California. For the next 218 years, soldiers stood guard against the machinations of empires. But the English, Russian, Japanese, and Klingons—Star Trek's Starfleet Command is headquartered here—never came. The base became a coveted (website hidden) assignment. Officers dream of three things, the saying went: “to make colonel, to die and go to heaven, and to be posted to the Presidio." In 1994, ownership passed from the Army to the National Park Service. Now the Presidio is a self-sustaining trust, thanks to rents paid by one-percenters like George Lucas, whose Lucasfilms office here blessed with a Yoda sculpture on a fountain. (Critics prefer sculptor Andy Goldsworthy's nearly hundred-foot-tall “Spire," near the Arguello Gate.) But why nitpick? Instead, savor a hot chocolate after a hike on Crissy Field. Listen for the whiz-whir generated by bikers pumping down Lincoln Boulevard above North Baker Beach's clothing-optional sunbathers. Delight in the eucalyptus-scented footpath called Lovers Lane. The Presidio, young Skywalker! The Force is strong with this one. —Andrew Nelson, @andrewnelson Travel Tips When to Go: April, May, October, and November typically are the best months to visit due to the warm, sunny weather and minimal fog (providing better views of the Golden Gate Bridge). Weekdays are less crowded. How to Get Around: From San Francisco International Airport rent a car, or ride BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to the Embarcadero station. From here (at the corner of Drumm and Market Streets), take the free Presidio shuttle bus (9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m on weekends). Where to Eat or Drink: Housed in the former mess hall, The Commissary at the Presidio serves light breakfasts, eat-in and takeout lunches, and a full dinner menu (reservations recommended). Award-winning chef Traci Des Jardins mainly uses locally sourced ingredients to prepare the Spanish-influenced California cuisine (salt cod fritters, Marin Sun Farms burgers, and roasted chicken with Marcona almonds and dates). Most seating is communal. To watch the chefs prepare your meal, request a (email hidden) surrounding the open kitchen. What to Buy: At the Presidio, Warming Hut Bookstore and Café, located at the west end of Crissy Field; the Golden Gate Bridge Pavilion; and the Fort Point Bookstore have the best selection of Presidio-related souvenirs, gear, and books. Practical Tip: To stay warm (and avoid looking like a tourist) wear long pants and several light layers if visiting the Presidio in summer (June-August) when the weather is typically cold and foggy. What to Read Before You Go: Set at the Presidio, The Enlisted Men's Club (Running Meter Press, 2014) is the first in a trilogy of military-life novels penned by late author and Vietnam War veteran Gary Reilly. Helpful Links: Presidio of San Francisco and San Francisco Travel Fun Fact: Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the executive order authorizing the internment of Japanese Americans was issued at the Presidio. At the same time that their family members were being relocated to internment camps, Japanese-American linguist soldiers were training at the Presidio for critical military language duties such as translation and negotiation. The soldiers' training site, which reopened in 2013 as the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) Historic Learning Center, is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Insider Tip From Andrew Nelson: Got a yen for nine pins? The old army base supports its own late bowling alley. Presidio Bowl is open every day and until 2 a.m. on the weekends. (Note: In the other direction, we are 5 minutes to Golden Gate Park, another National Park with museums, gardens, etc. Our home is located 2 blocks to The Presidio & about 8 blocks to Golden Gate Park).

  • We rented this because we couldn't get something close to the Palace of Fine Arts. First off, Christine was one of the only owners who replied to my messages addressing me by my name. Everyone else seemed too rushed to bother. This made a positive impression on me. I inquired about parking and they said it shouldn't be a problem but they would be willing to look out for a spot for us if we knew what time we'd be arriving. Fortunately, parking was pretty easy for us the 4 days we were there. We got spots within a block or two. The apartment was well equipped with anything you would need. It was also very clean. The cleanest fridge I've ever seen! We were attending a work conference and didn't use the kitchen except for getting some water but it appeared to be more than adequate. The beds were very comfortable. I slept on one of two twin beds that were adjacent to each other. I wear ear plugs but I did notice it seemed like there was a waterproof cover or something that "crinkled" a bit but I only noticed it when I took my ear plugs out. I guess someone sensitive to noise might have an issue with it but I imagine it would be easy to remove, if so. Those beds would be well suited to kids though. I'm thinking of bringing my family back to try that out. The other beds (regular bed and couch bed) both seemed very comfortable as well. The shower was very good. I like taking very hot showers with lots of water (sorry, CA drought) and it fit the bill. I did notice a slight knocking noise that might have been due to water pressure but it wasn't a big deal. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and felt very safe. It wasn't as grungy as much as other parts of SF. There were some restaurants/stores within easy walking distance such as a bagel place a few blocks away that was very good. We met Jon after we were done with our stay and he was very friendly. I only communicated with Christine via email but she seemed very nice as well. I can't think of anything negative to say. The entry lock is a little tricky to get used to but not a big deal and the front door doesn't open all the way but not a big deal either. Oh, note that the ceilings are "low". Not a problem for us (5' 6" and shorter) but I could touch the ceiling so it could be a problem for some people. All in all, an awesome place with awesome hosts. I'd stay there again for sure.

This lovely apartment is a delight: a bright, clean, happy home-away-from-home, nestled right in Cole Valley, a safe, family-friendly, charming neighborhood located at the center of San Francisco. It truly is where you'll leave your heart.
This chic and cool studio apartment in a charming Victorian home in Cole Valley merges the best of San Francisco, with classic 19th century architecture on the exterior, and a newly remodeled, beautiful studio apartment that features mod design and a cheerful and vibrant color scheme in the interior. (SEE NOTES ON PARKING IN LAST PARAGRAPH BELOW.) Adjacent to the queen-size canopy bed there is a little nook with sunny window and the absolute cutest twin bed, outfitted with colorful linens, a sweet reading lamp, and charming framed prints and paintings by local artists. There are three proper beds (one queen bed that sleeps two, and two twin beds-- one in the nook that sleeps one, one that also acts as a sofa/ day-bed). Under the day-bed there is a very comfortable trundle bed that pulls out to reveal a proper twin size mattress. The apartment can sleep a family of 5. If you are traveling with an infant, I also have a co-sleeper crib with sheets. There is a fully outfitted kitchen with 4 stools and retro-chic tableware, perfect for cocktails. And speaking of cocktails, the neighborhood is lovely if you like great food and cocktails. A close walk to Cole Street, you can feast on gourmet tacos and drinks at local favorite Padrecito, topping it off with caramelized honey, creme fraiche and roasted pineapple sundaes at the Ice Cream Bar, also a fan favorite on Cole Street. And if you worry you may have over-indulged, you can run (or stroll) it off the next morning with a circuit around nearby Golden Gate Park, featuring miles of gorgeous paths, and amazing museums like the Academy of Sciences and the DeYoung Museum. And if you're traveling with kids, there's a playground across the street (Grattan Playground), and an even more deluxe playground a short stroll away in Golden Gate Park. The apartment has free wifi, a "smart TV" that connects through the internet, a nice clean bathroom with a shower, and fully equipped kitchen. I provide all bed linens and blankets, towels, soap, hairdryer, iron, yoga mat—really everything you might need. As for your privacy, it is a ground floor apartment, but the entire home is two flights of stairs above the street, so it's very light, and very private, with the only people passing by being other inhabitants of the house. I am a relaxed, happy host-- here to help if you need it, and invisible if you prefer to relax without interruption. It is a fun, cheerful, and inspiring home, perfect for a vacation holiday. I love my home, and hope you will, too. If you have to mix pleasure with business, the apartment is an eight minute walk to UCSF [Hospital], and a block and a half away from the MUNI N-Train which takes you straight downtown to work (and to shopping in Union Square and the Embarcadero), and 1 block away from multiple bus lines. If you are working down in Silicon Valley, the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), Genentech, Tesla, etc. shuttles all pick up within a couple blocks, as do the shuttle buses to UCSF Mission Bay. In terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take a cab here, a bus, the Super Shuttle (a very inexpensive, great way to get here-- just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) "Super Shuttle" to check fares and schedule a pick-up/ drop-off), or the MUNI train (it's right on the N line-- towards Ocean Beach if you're coming from downtown/ Civic Center; the N-Judah if you're coming from the other direction. Our stop is "Stanyan Street"). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Civic Center stop from the airport, and transfer to the MUNI "N" line, going toward Ocean Beach. Our stop is Stanyan Street (at the intersection of Stanyan and Carl streets). The apartment is extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while I don't have a parking spot, it's a fairly easy neighborhood to find free parking in. However, while parking is free, it is not unlimited. They ticket every two hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, so you need to either move your car by 10 am (not too hard, there are usually spots to be found, and most people start their day by then anyway), or park in a nearby parking lot (Kezar Parking Lot is within a 10 minute walk down the street on 801 Stanyan near Frederick Street, and you can pay to park all day for ~$20-~26 for 24 hours, should you want to leave your car there for the day). There are also some streets nearby (Rivoli street, for example) where you can park round the clock for ~48 hours for free and they don't ticket, but you have to search a bit for those spots as everyone wants them. Always take care not to block anyone's driveway, and to read the street parking signs/ restrictions, so you don't accidentally leave your car on a street where there is a scheduled street cleaning.
The apartment is nestled right in Cole Valley, one of the hidden gems of San Francisco. While centrally located in the heart of the city, just blocks from the entrance to Golden Gate Park and the Children's Playground, it remains a bit of a locals' secret. Cole Street features small, locally owned shops (with everything you might need and more) and charming restaurants. Just a short walk will bring you to the heart of the neighborhood, where you can feast on gourmet tacos and drinks at my favorite restaurant, Padrecito. If you still have room, you can top it off with a caramelized honey, creme fraiche and roasted pineapple sundae at the Ice Cream Bar, also a favorite on Cole Street. And if you worry you may have over-indulged, you can run (or stroll) it off the next morning with a circuit around nearby Golden Gate Park, featuring miles of gorgeous paths, and amazing museums like the Academy of Sciences and the DeYoung Museum. If you're traveling with kids, there's a playground close by (Grattan Playground), and an even more deluxe playground a short stroll away in Golden Gate Park.
  • O bairro excelente e a anfitriã deixou a casa aberta, com tudo bem explicado. Apesar de não ter visto ela pessoalmente, não tivemos nenhum problema p chegar ou sair da casa, foi muito fácil e prático.

  • This place is great! Aside from being utterly adorable, its clean and bright and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Lots of extra space for guests- the trundle bed under the couch was great for extra visitors or a quick afternoon nap. The area is great, with Walgreen's and a cute little market right on the corner, and its impossible to feel unsafe when the fire department's just a few doors down! The kitchen was full of all the amenities we needed, including the tiniest most precious cheese grater. All in all, a wonderful place. 10/10 would return and stay again!

Peaceful garden view bedroom with a private bath in a sunny Edwardian home. Stay at this quiet Bernal Heights retreat and stroll up the slope to enjoy the shops and restaurants of Cortland Avenue!
Your bedroom has French doors that open onto a restful and serene backyard patio. Enjoy sitting with your morning coffee in the sun or under the patio umbrella, watching the butterflies. Freshly washed sheets and towels are included. Right next to your bedroom in the hallway is your private bathroom with a bathtub/shower combination and a skylight.
At the southern edge of the Mission, Bernal Heights is one of the sunniest neighborhoods in San Francisco. A two-minute walk from our home will take you to the Alemany Farmer’s Market (Saturday) and the Flea Market (Sunday). Cortland Avenue with its village-like ambience is an eight-minute walk from our home.
  • Michael and Vernon have a lovely place. Especially the rooms were super clean! The location is good, we could take an uber to downtown for about 12$. Communication was also great! We really had the best time at their place!

    Ellen2018-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We would definitely stay at Michael's place again! It is centrally located just minutes from most of the attractions. It was very clean and inviting. The bed is so comfortable!! The patio off the bedroom is very peaceful and filled with beautiful flowers..a great place to drink your morning coffee. The hosts were very nice and helpful with any questions we had. Overall, we have no complaints!

  • Sehr schöne Unterkunft in guter Nachbarschaft, mit leckeren Restaurants. Die Unterkunft war super, v. a. die Terrasse.

    Stephanie2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Vernon (and Michael) are excellent hosts! The room was exactly as expected. The pillows and mattress are exceptionally comfortable. Having your own bathroom is also a plus. On top of that, Michael and Vernon are very accommodating and welcoming hosts! I would definitely stay here again when in San Fran next time. Tip: Bernal Heights generally, including this apartment, is on a steep hill. Be prepared to either Uber or hoof it up very steep hills to get to Cortland (where all the eats are). Besides the unexpected hills (my fault for lack of research), this is a fantastic place to stay — Bernal Heights has lots to offer and easy enough access to downtown and BART. If you stay in Bernal Heights, stay w/ Michael and Vernon — you will love it!

  • At home, comfortable. Accomendations were spotless. Private bathroom, good size bedroom and a walk out garden / patio allowed for perfect first air B and B experience.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in SF. Michael was super hospitable, the room was cozy and clean, the shower was luxurious (the towels are so thick), and the back patio was a nice retreat for morning coffee (or late night wine). Make sure to hike up to Bernal Heights Park and check out the amazing view! Great location. Everything exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely recommend staying here.

Big room in a very centric location, public transportation (BART + Muni) is 5 min walk from the house, buses to everywhere are a couple of blocks away. Place is peaceful and quiet, its a perfect combination of living in a city and a serene getaway. Please be aware that the house has some stairs (as most of SF`s houses do) to get to the front door.THIS AD IS FOR ONE PRIVATE BEDROOM AND SHARED BATHROOM, NOT THE ENTIRE APARTMENT. THANKS FOR READING! :-)
The room has a full size bed, hairdryer, hangers, iron, heater, plenty of blankets and pillows for your comfort. For the 3rd person, there is a foldable bed (cot) with which all amenities are provided. The 3rd person bed will be in the same room than the 2 other people. If there is an inconvenience with this, please let us know so we can arrange the sofa-bed in the living-room House has Wifi, Central Heating, Fireplace, Washer. Fully equipped kitchen. There is plenty of free street parking available, be aware that in most of the city street parking is only for 2 hrs from 10am-6pm also be aware of street cleaning . We (Ili & Javier) live in the house. Your bedroom is private, but we will be sharing the common areas (kitchen, livingroom and bathroom).
The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood. There is plenty of FREE street parking available ( just be aware of street c landing and other street signs) . If the driveway is available you are welcome to use it but you MUST leave your car keys in the kitchen so we can move in and out. Anywhere you park, please make sure you don't block a neighbor´s driveway.
Recomendo!

  • This apartment seems isolated in a residential area but it couldn't be more accessible on the BART (5-10 mins walk away). Iliana and Javier were THE MOST incredible hosts! They offer their company or your privacy, I was lucky to have the privilege of their company on the night I stayed over and they are the most awesome people, so hospitable, interactive and genuine. I could not recommend this home anymore! Thanks for having me over!

  • The listing was accurate and the room was clean and neat. The apartment is conveniently located near a BART station, which helped us get around. Ili and Javier were both very friendly and gave us privacy when needed. Thanks again!

    Antara2016-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Ili's and Javier's home was great. It is located very close to public transportation to downtown (15min by subway) as well as close to the freeway from the airport (parking in front of the house possible). The room was big and comfortable and we were allowed to use the whole house. Ili and Javier were really perfect hosts and we would always stay at their place again.

30 day min. Please ignore the nightly rate. To view the full price enter your dates. Parking space fits compact car only. Whip up a tasty brunch at the tidy, fitted kitchen in this modern studio. Expansive windows grace the stylish, neatly arranged layout with plentiful light.
We can provide a twin -size blow-up bed upon request, in the event 3 guests want to sleep on separate beds.
The building is located in the town center near the SF Civic Center, varied nightlife options, and tourist attractions. It’s just a few blocks from classical lures including the San Francisco Opera and ballet.
  • Carlos' place is amazing. It's clean, comfortable and most importantly really well equipped. I did not have to worry about getting around too. Buses around the area to downtown are fairly frequent. I liked it that they prepped the place well before my arrival with shampoo, soap, dishwashing detergent, cooking oil and i do not have to worry about such essentials upon arrival. A Walgreen's is in the ground level of this building. Overall loved it and would come back to stay.

  • A really convenient, clean, and quiet place in the heart of the city. Plus parking! I'll definitely stay here again.

    Dave2016-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Graciela's studio was clean, new, and very comfortable. I lived here with my partner for four weeks between our move from Denver to the Bay Area. It was a lovely place to call home for a few weeks. Graciela was very accommodating with my check in given that I arrived from Denver with four suitcases before my check in time. While we were there, SF experienced some seriously hot days and she graciously purchased a fan for us during that period. The studio is in the Tenderloin which has a reputation for a reason but I felt safe during the day but rarely ventured off at night when I imagine things get a little seedier (Graciela equipped the tv with Netflix so why would I leave...). Thanks for a great stay, Graciela!

    Jenna2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the location of this apartment and the quiet of it. I stayed here for over a month and was very happy. Graciela greeted me the first day and explained everything and later attended quickly to the toilet which was running all night about two weeks in to my stay. She was responsive and helpful. I totally recommend this place.

    Todd2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great cozy apartment-modest and modern and just as described in the photos. Land lady is good and responsive. Me and my husband had a lovely stay and will definitely be back in our next visit.

    Evangeline2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a month in this apartment. It's a great place - beautifully furnished, very clean, quiet, bright (it's a corner apartment, so lots of light!), and easy to make it feel like your own. So nice to have a washer and dryer and parking available if you need it. It's in a pretty central location and quick to get to most places. I was a little nervous being right next to the Tenderloin, and while it's still not my favorite neighborhood, there is a lot to offer and I never felt unsafe walking around. It's close to some great restaurants and theaters. Graciela and Carlos were very prompt in responding to any questions or issues I had and were great to rent from!

    Margaret2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed almost 1 month and a half in their apartment. The apartment has excellent furniture and the layout/furnitures are very well thought of. The neighborhood is very quiet and close to the Civic center. I would definitely rent again from Carlos and Graciela!

Ingleside Heights retains old-school charm of San Francisco. This is a quiet, residential neighborhood where some residents have lived 30 years. Ocean Avenue is nearby and you'll find Whole Foods, yoga studios, cafes and authentic asian restaurants. This is a safe neighborhood, our cousin walked to school and we all walk at night.

  • Awesome view, clean, cute and super close to public transit. Yegor was very accommodating, although I didn't need much because his place was pretty much set up for a successful stay. Highly recommended

  • Yegor is SUPER friendly and quick to respond to any questions you may have. He allowed us to use the driveway space to park our rental car, and made sure we were able to enter the residence without any problems! His place was easy to find, and close to the airport. I do wish the bed and pillows had been a little bit more comfy, but for a solo traveler or couple who just need a place to stay the night before heading home this place is just fine!

    Lauren2017-04-22T00:00:00Z

  • I had read most of the reviews and everything was as expected. Perfect for my needs. Clean, private, bright, small kitchenette, parking close by. You can hear others in the home occasionally but nothing overly distracting or that some soft music didn't drown out. Hope to stay at Su's again when I am in San Francisco.

  • The apartment is nice and clean. We loved to have a kitchen to prepare our own breakfast. You get a pincode for den entrance. So you are really flexible with the check-in. To get to the city center takes a while but you get buses easily. Unfortunately we met Linda just before leaving the flat. She seemed to be very nice.
