  • Lance's place is gorgeous and amazing. He communicated check in details well. Everything was great. His car is so adorable. We saw an amazing sunrise. Such an incredible experience.

  • All I can say is WOW! The view of Portland was wonderful, the neighborhood intriguing, the house spectacular, and Lance was a GREAT host. I hope we can make it back again.

    Beverly2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was extremely welcoming and his place is incredible. While I stayed in the downstairs floor (has own living room and bathroom) he was kind enough to let me use the top floor for a few hours where I proposed to my girlfriend. It's a beautiful apartment with a stunning view.

    Brian2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was friendly, house was clean, great views, interesting history.

    Katie2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home. Stunning views - however best enjoyed in the summer months.

  • We had a badass time with Lance. The view in the morning was like taking acid sober. I don't dabble but I would imagine that is what it is like. The company was fabulous if you know the right questions to ask. Just kidding. It was just fabulous. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! The quality of your life in Portland will improve if you stay here. Tanti baci!!!!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Lance's treehouse. It is an architectural gem, with an interesting history behind it, and yes the view is Spectacular! Lance is a great host and so is his cat, Bukowski ;-) It was a real treat to experience Portland with Lance. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. We were definitely dragging out feet when we had to leave as the place is so magical.

    Lynette2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • I only wish we could stay longer! The house is amazing and is everything you'd hope for when booking a treehouse in the portland hills overlooking the city! Lance is great too, super nice and welcoming. Made coffee for us in the mornings and really welcomed us into his home to make us feel comfortable. I would (and plan to) stay here again in the future, this was just GREAT!!!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • Very friendly and helpful hosts in a great neighbourhood.

    Lazzie2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived just as Jack and Cris got home so we got to meet them right away. They were so gracious and wonderful, showed us around and instantly we felt at home. They built the amazing cob hut themselves and it was cozy and clean and it was awesome to fall asleep underneath a skylight that we could see the stars. They gave us numerous suggestions of things to do and places to go. I knew they owned a coffee shop so I inquired, and they have two shops (Floyd's Coffee), one of which we went to twice because the breakfast burrito is delicious and so is the coffee and chai lattes...The property is an oasis! A seriously amazing BEAUTIFUL and relaxing place to stay. They have put alot of love and care into their place and it shows. The neighborhood is just fantastic with so many cute homes and its very close to a main road that has a bunch of yummy restaurants and ice cream (salt and straw) and food trucks. It's also very quite in the neighbourhood they live and I loved just walking around. I truly never wanted to leave and I will most definitely go back. I miss it already. This was my first time in Portland and I think staying here reinforced my love of it. Thank you Jack and Cris! I will be seeing you again! Xo

    Jessica2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy, artistic spot. The cob cottage was warm and comfortable, the bathroom and sitting area were comfortable and well appointed. You can feel the creativity here. It was also very quiet and serene. A definite go to for a relaxing stay in Portland.

    Mary2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really cool backyard cob structure in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Very clean, exactly as described, with a comfortable bed. Met my needs perfectly, and the hosts were very friendly.

    David2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cris and Jack's place was magical and a true gem found tucked away in Portland. Although once you step through the gates you feel you have been transported to a fairy tale land, it is right around the corner from bustling SE Division and Clinton. Perfect location for exploring and so lovely to stay in such a creative space that is clearly cared for and was carefully designed by Cris and Jack. Highly recommend!

    Ashley2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Clean place, friendly reception in a great neighbourhood close to lots of good restaurants, bars and foodtrucks. Great way to experience Portland!

    Laura2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The earthen cob cottage was a wonderful place to stay. The room was clean, and everything was as described.

    Jacob2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris were amazing! To start off, they have a lovely home with a great scenic pond. They were very welcoming and gave us a quick tour of the location, including the cottage/breakfast nook/pond/bathroom. Provided us with coffee, tea and some clean folded towels! Their bathroom was beautiful, including the bathtub! The cottage was very romantic! Had controlled candle lights, super soft bed & the sound of the pond was very soothing to fall asleep to. Felt very safe in the neighborhood! Also located by Downtown Richmond where you could find food trucks, a Salt & Straw, and a burger joint called Little Big Burger which was delicious! So far our favorite place to stay in Portland! Thank you for your hospitality, Jack & Cris!! We'd LOVE to stay here once again!

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Andree's barn studio is awesome. It's beautiful, eclectic, and comfortable. The bed in the loft is amazing - I slept like a baby, although I did wake to the train horn once during the night. I sat in her garden in the morning to soak up the sun. Peaceful and beautiful. Also glad for the recommendation for Woodlawn Coffee - it's a great walking distance and had wonderful food/coffee.

    Carol2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time in this garden studio! Andree was super helpful and friendly. Would stay here again and recommend to others for sure!

    Danny2013-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was extremely friendly and kind and greeted us on the night we got in. She gave us some great recommendations for restaurants which we ended up taking and loved. We really loved staying in her cozy little cabin and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Portland! If you aren't planning to rent a car though, she does live a little outside the downtown area so getting around could be a little tougher. We rented a car which made our experience staying in her neighborhood much better!

    Eric2014-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Henry and I's experience was delightful. Check-in was thoroughly planned. We were provided with detailed information about the space and facilities. We had all the comforts of home with the feeling of being on vacation. We were disappointed with the rainy spring weather for the weekend and not being able to enjoy the fireplace and outdoor seating area. The sleeping loft was exciting; I am closer to the side of 6" tall and had the ability to get in and out safely. Your host will most likely wow you with personal touches and the delights her space has to offer. Parking is straightforward and the location was convenient to multiple routes for Vancouver/Portland traveling.

    Stacy2015-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was great! The space was amazing and welcoming. Everything was clean and comfortable. I would totally stay here the next time I go to Portland.

    Katie2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy space for two, lots of dining options within waking distance.

  • Andree was an awesome host! I appreciated her friendliness, recommendations for food, and leaving two bottles of tea in the fridge for us! The cabin was neat and comfy - and made my trip to Portland a wonderful experience.

    Jonathan2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Everything was exactly how she described it. The location was also really great because it was close to a lot of neighborhood restaurants and bars. The neighborhood was nice a quaint. Andrée was also very hospitable and helpful and gave us a lot of suggestions on places to visit!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • A beautiful studio in the midst of a stunning neighborhood. Super close to public transit that can take you anywhere! We decided to rent a car and found that most attractions were very close.

  • While we were only here one night, it was a perfect place to stay! Very comfy and cozy, especially when we used the fireplace at night. Neighborhood was super cute and quiet, and it was a short walk to shops, restaurants/bars. I'd stay here again when in Portland. Thanks, Jason!

    Roseleigh 2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place was perfect for our stay in Portland. It was private, spacious, and had everything we needed.

  • This was a beautiful, big studio and perfect for my week in Portland. It was so nice to be in a great neighborhood. And the the bus to work picked up a block away, so my commute was easy. I'd love to stay here again.

    Erynn2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We adored this spacious studio apartment. The fireplace was an amazing feature that kept us cozy at night. We loved the neighborhood, gorgeous homes all around and an easy uber ride to all of the city sites. I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you!

    Abby2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay if you're visiting from out of town. It's in an absolutely gorgeous neighborhood (think New Orleans Garden District), and super accessible. Even though this is an apartment I didn't hear any other people while I was there. Very quiet. Clean. Good furniture. Check in was easy, and Jason gave me all the deets ahead of time. I'd stay here again.

    Holly2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as described and pictured. We were worried about it being a little chilly, so we got in touch with Jason before booking and he re-assured us that he would help us stay warm by adjusting the heating schedule if necessary. It was an awesome (and un-needed!) gesture, but really set the tone for our trip. Upon check-in, he had gotten a bunch of extra firewood ready for us, and gotten the fireplace ready for us to start a fire. All-in-all, we had a wonderful time, and would definitely stay there again.

    Jared2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was perfect for our stay in Portland. Loved the nearby coffee shops and running through the neighborhood. Studio was clean and check-in was easy. The neighborhood guide was also super helpful!

If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • Absolutely loved this airbnb, very beautiful garden upon entering the gate and beautiful curb appeal as well. The apartment was just as lovely, very clean and neat in appearance. Everything was neatly placed and organized. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the decor in the vintage kitchen. We enjoyed the beautiful backyard garden that is accessible from the apartment. Bob and Sue are great host, very friendly and welcoming. Sue made suggestions of what to do in the area as well as where to eat. The location is great because it's close to downtown and also walking distance to parks and restuarants, coffee shops and boutiques. Overall we loved our stay, the only negative it was to short of a visit. If you love flowers and beauty this is the place for you.

    Eileen2016-05-23T00:00:00Z

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it had everything we needed, from the immaculate bathroom, comprehensive kitchen, a well-functioning washer and dryer and comfortable and cozy bed. The gardens were straight out of a magazine -- so romantic and smelled amazing. And to top it off, Bob and Sue were so warm and hospitable -- we would recommend this spot to anyone!

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Best Airbnb stay yet! You definitely will love it!

  • Super cute, bright, and clean loft for our trip to Portland. It was hard getting out of bed on those cozy rainy mornings! Despite being within walking distance to all the great eateries and shops off SE Division & Hawthorne, street parking was easy (big deal for those of us who hate city parking) and we felt completely secluded when we retreated for the night. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and modern space while staying in Portland!

  • I stayed several days in Laurel & Brians place with my sister and daughter. It worked out well for the three of us. The place was well located, easy check in and check out, and well stocked with the necessities in the kitchen and bathroom. It was well decorated as represented in the pics online. We enjoyed the location with many options within walking distance. They also put together a helpful binder to many nearby options listed. We had a car but also conveniently located for those wanting to use transit. Would definitely stay there again if I find myself inPortland, which is definitely somewhere I hope to return. Thanks to out hosts for helping us to have a great stay!

I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • Great room in accessible area, thanks Timothy for your hospitality!

    Kumi2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great value. The room was spacious and clean and the private sink was a nice bonus. The room is right off MLK so it's a bit loud at night- earplugs would be a good idea for a light sleeper. I would stay again!

  • Nice neighborhood within walking distance of fun stuff on Alberta St and Mississippi.

    Russell2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The room was exactly as advertised-- pleasant, clean and very comfortable bed. I didn't read carefully enough and was surprised to see both the bathroom and shower were down the hall, shared with other guests. The neighborhood was OK, not great. Best thing was the restaurant directly downstairs--- a most amazing meal. Coffee /bake shop next door also welcoming with good muffins/coffee and pleasant folks.

    Pamela2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed just an afternoon and left early the next morning, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Tim's friendly dog greeted us. The hostel set-up with shared bathrooms worked just fine... there were two toilets and two showers and they were never too busy. The sink in the room was nice to have. We loved exploring the Alberta Arts district (Tea Bar, Seastar Bakery, Pok Pok Noi). The hostel has an amazing location right next to Ned Ludd, which was FANTASTIC. What a romantic, interesting, and DELICIOUS restaurant.

    Tracy2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Although Timothy was not there for the weekend, Madison gave us an appropriate welcoming as soon as we arrived. She was very friendly and gave us a tour of the whole place. The room was exactly as depicted and the sink in the room was so convenient. It was very easy getting around Portland with the bus stop so close and having access to their bikes. Would definitely recommend stay here again.

    Keith2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived pretty late on Friday night but Timothy was so accommodating meeting us in the parking lot and showing us around his beautiful place. The room was so spacious and definitely a resort-like escape in the PNW. I would definitely recommend staying with Timothy because every detail is attended to- a comfy, clean bed and a clean shower/ bathrooms! This is all not to mention the amazing deck!

    Andrea2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was great. He met us when we arrived, was flexible with our arrival time and departure, and he gave us a quick tour of the place too! The room was big and the bed was comfortable. Clean and nice place.

  • What an awesome pad! Scott maintains an immaculate house and offers a very comfortable guest room. The check-in process was smooth as ever even with my delayed flight arrival time. I will definitely stay with him again next time I am in Portland. PS The amenities he provides in the room are above and beyond any other AirBnB rental I have stayed at. Thanks Scott!

    Danny2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was a phenomenal host! The space is attractive, clean and comfortable, and Scott even provided snacks and tips on local hotspots. Highly recommended!

    Mark2017-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place is excellent and he is a great host. When I visit Portland again, I'll make sure to book this BnB.

    Neekoh2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • All was perfect, Scott's house is beautiful and very clean and he gave us good descriptions that we found everything immediately. The house is located in a very nice neighbourhood and just round the corner of the MAX station. Thanks a lot, Scott for being such a great host, we'd definitely come again!

    Matthias2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice flat, cool hood

    Saladin2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for only one night and had a good stay. Check-in was super easy per Scott's instructions and he was very friendly and helpful when I walked into the house. The room had snacks and drinks prepared, which is definitely not something you find in every airbnb. It was also in a very convenient location and I got to go to Coco Donuts in the morning which was less than a mile away! Definitely recommend - both Coco Donuts and Scott's airbnb.

    Jacqueline2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little space in a gorgeous home. Scott was a great host, giving us all the info we needed to enjoy a quick night in Portland!

    RacheL2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was an amazing host and the location of his home was perfect for our trip to Portland. The first impressions of the house are ones of cleanliness, style, and care. Our room was private, as well as our bathroom. There is a very short (less than 5 min walk) to the MAX train which is only another 5 minutes to downtown Portland. We definitely would stay with Scott again!

This listing is a private bedroom in a shared apartment with 3 other individuals. We are considerate, quiet, & conscious of our guests space & privacy. In the heart of Portland's NW 23rd District, our place is nestled close to some of Portland's finest shops & cafes: Salt & Straw, Barista, and Fireside to name a few. The apartment has become a "destination" in itself due to the amazing natural light & Scandinavian interior design - even garnering its own hashtag on Instagram (#theaptupstairs).
"The Apartment Upstairs" is perfect for couples, urban adventurers, and creative travelers. Private bedroom outfitted with luxury Portuguese linen, plush Turkish cotton towels, waffle knit robes & slippers, & alpaca wool throws from our friends over at Parachute Home. All room decor and artwork is done by fellow Portland & Los Angeles creatives.
  • We spent two nights here and absolutely loved it! Our flight was very delayed, so we got in much later than expected, but Benjamin was super accommodating and everything went as smoothly as possible. The place itself is gorgeous, very well designed/decorated, and they went the extra mile to give us a list of the best places to check out, which we absolutely referenced. Would definitely come back!

  • The Apt Upstairs was a comfortably quiet place to stay. We really enjoyed our weekend in PDX and the Apt Upstairs was definitely a part of that. The Apt Upstairs was a comfortably quiet place to stay. It's it a great area of Nob Hill and makes it really easy to get around PDX and do things at all times of the day. Thanks again for being so welcoming, Benjamin! -Patricia

  • Benjamin and his house mates are extremely friendly and kind.

    Floy2018-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Benjamin’s place. His apartment is beautifully decorated, to the degree that my girlfriend spent an hour taking photographs and videos of the place. It’s located in a quaint though bustling neighbourhood, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Benjamin and his was housemates were very kind, they even gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate Valentines Day! Also the soaps and body washes provided were some next level stuff.

    Liam2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is in a house with well-maintained antique character, in a great neighborhood with urban amenities. The room is a bit small, but comes with some nice touches such as bathrobes.

    Cindy2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jättefin lägenhet, litet och mysigt rum. Väldigt härligt kvarter att bo i!

    Johanna2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I couldn't be more pleased with our stay at the apt upstairs! The location was impeccable, close to everything you need and saved a lot of time being able to walk to a central location. We would have wasted a lot of money and time on Uber's or public transit to get to that location. The apartment itself is designed beautifully. The only negative is that there was no air conditioning in 90 degree weather. The fan was fine once the sun went down but it was noticeably hot during the day.

    Julie2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Benjamin is really nice host. also his home neighborhood is excellent to traveler. The room is same as picture in Airbnb website and the bed is really cozy to me. Actually I didn't meet Benjamin but his roommate help me. If I'll go to Portland I want to stay here agian!!

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Our stay at Anna & Jeremy's place was outstanding. Perfect modern studio, beautifully designed and decorated. Great location, in a peaceful and safe neighborhood. Within walking distance of great restaurants and conveniently located to the airport. Very private, we had our own key and separate entrance. The bed was so comfortable, the linens and towels were great quality. We appreciated the toiletries provided, there was even a blow dryer and straightener! The coffee was so yummy!! Anna was a gracious hostess, very welcoming and friendly. She shared information with us about Portland and answered our questions, saving us from getting stuck in rush hour traffic! We would most definitely stay here again. This is a great spot for exploring the Portland area.

    Jade2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Anna and Jeremy! We had an amazing time at your listing. It is truly a work of art from the immense light filled room, the exposed concrete counters, to the smell of lemongrass diffuser. Everything was perfect. Met Jeremy and was hilarious and a great host, making sure we got everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Overall such amazing host and a beautiful listing. We are definitely coming back again!!

    Chad2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy went above and beyond. They coordinated the key pick up and left super thoughtful info about the neighborhood, greater Portland and beyond. Anna even called me to make sure everything was going well. The space is super clean, well kept and really stylish! Our only regret is that we didn't get a chance to meet Anna and Jeremy and hang out with them as they seem sooooo cool!

    Lucy2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's peaceful retreat was just perfect... super clean, artistic, cool, comfortable... everything you could want and more. Highlights were definitely the spacious/modern bathroom, the open kitchen layout, and the cozy bed niche. You can certainly tell that Anna and Jeremy put a ton of TLC into this architecturally custom space with charming and unique decor in all the right places. As a host, Anna was above and beyond... offering a wide variety of suggestions of where to eat/play/wander in the neighborhood and the greater Portland area. She truly customizes your experience by providing recommendations that are catered to your interests and desired itinerary. Lastly, the neighborhood was awesome... definitely an up and coming district sprinkled with really cute coffee shops, markets, eateries, a wonderful park, and more. We really hope to be back sooner than later. Thanks again Anna and Jeremy... you guys sure know how to do it right!

    Kristina2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, exactly as advertised. The neighborhood is awesome with great local food and drink options within a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore Portland. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

    Michael2015-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's space was well-designed, clean, simple yet thoughtful. The neighborhood has some great food and drink options while still being a peaceful residential area. Perfect for a long weekend that combined a bit of fun with some much-needed relaxation. The open shower may have inspired an upcoming bathroom Reno!

    Sarah2015-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Anna & Jeremy’s home was beautiful! The apartment is more stunning in person than the pictures can even show. We loved the neighbourhood so much we didn’t even leave further than Alberta street (except to go to the Blazers game!). Anna and Jeremy were so friendly and Anna had put together a very handy book full of tips and recommendations- none of the places we got to experience were a let down. We will definitely be returning back to their home in the near future !

    Olivia2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing!! Such an awesome spot to stay and a great neighborhood! Everything was so easy to locate in and around Anna & Jeremy's place. Their notes made everything really simple as well.

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Brad and Becca were great hosts, very kind, welcoming and gave excellent tips on where to eat and neighborhoods to check out during my stay. Their home is wonderful and a perfect place to come home to after exploring Portland. I would highly recommend staying with Brad and Becca!

    Lucy 2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca made were very amazing hosts. They recommended areas for us to see and eat while we were in town for just one short day. By the way...Departure was a great restaurant thanks so much, super trendy amd had amazing views. Also, the food carts on divison were awesome. The house is absolutely beautiful and the room was awesome. We had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend.

    Carl2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay and Becca & Brad were wonderful hosts, full of recommendations and knowledge about the area. Easy check in/out. They also went above & beyond normal host duties and helped us recover something that we left in a rental car! Their house is located on a quiet neighborhood street but they are just steps away from food and public transportation. Only a 15-20 min walk to SE Division Street where we spent a good chunk of time eating and drinking. We also rented bikes which is probably the best way to explore the city, because of how bike friendly it is. I definitely recommend staying here - cannot say that enough.

    Alexis2013-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Brad and Becca was wonderful. Way too short, but wonderful. The house was super cozy, and we loved getting to hang out with Diego and Carlos - their wonderful pets. A cat that plays fetch? Amazing. The house is in a great location to tons of great food and things to do nearby.

    Bradley2014-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first airbnb experience so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Brad and Becca made this to be a very good first experience with airbnb. They were very friendly and welcoming. Their house was modern and clean and the layout of the home allowed for a lot of privacy. I do have cat allergies but was not affected by their cat Diego. My stay was short, but I would definitely come back. I would chose their home over a hotel stay. Thank you Brad and Becca for a great first experience with airbnb.

    Kenichi2015-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The urban treehouse was amazing! Brad & Becca are gracious hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. The house is very beautiful and comfortable. The guest space is perfect with a relaxing sitting area. The neighborhood is peaceful and parking was no problem. Next time we're in Portland, this is the place we'll be staying!

    Marcy2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with Brad and Becca. Most importantly they were welcoming, and had a relaxed attitude which made us feel very much at home. We enjoyed staying in their neighbourhood - easy to get to places by public transport, and a calm place to stay. The bed was very comfortable, and they kindly left us some good coffee brewing when they left for work in the morning. We enjoyed contact with them and learning about Portland, and we liked that they were enthusiastic about the town and keen to talk about it. We would very much like to stay here again.

    Lynne And Rolf2014-05-25T00:00:00Z

  • Anastasia’s Place is the quintessential Portland stay. Very clean and modern with all of the basic amenities you need. Right on 23rd street and steps to the trolly makes this location central and totally walkable. Anastasia was a joy to communicate with and I would highly recommend her place.

    Tracey2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, great location, wonderful hosts. What more could you ask for? Next time I'm in Portland, I'll be staying here.

    Dustin2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space in a perfect location! Amazing spot to experience an amazing little city! Walking distance to everything - which is great for those without a car. Anastasia, thanks for your great communication and thanks for having us!

    Cara2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here! Everything is so clean and we loved the location!

    Kelly2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this studio! My boyfriend and I stayed at Anastasia's place for 4 nights. Right when we walked in, we loved how cozy and clean everything was. This space had the perfect amount of room for my boyfriend and I. We are from San Diego so we weren't used to the cold but there was a heater in the apartment that made it just perfect. We did have a rental car and finding parking was a breeze thanks to the parking pass that Anastasia provided. There are quite a few places in the neighborhood to walk to including Salt & Straw and Blue Star Donut, which are both a must when visiting Portland. Felt really safe walking around the neighborhood too. We visited quite a few parts of Portland and the neighborhood we stayed in was by far our favorite. Just to make things even better, Anastasia was an amazing host. Clear instructions and great communication. When I asked if she had many recommendations of places to go while visiting Portland, she went above and beyond by taking the time to give me an extensive list of things to do and try. I didn't get to meet Anastasia in person but she even checked in with me during my trip to make sure everything was going fine :) I thought that was very nice of her. We definitely enjoyed our stay in Portland and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else but here.

    Asia2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • 100% recommended - this place was amazing, we had the best experience ever, the home is so lovely the host is very helpful with everything and prepared everything for us, the location is near Barista coffee roaster , blue star donuts and Salt &straw! Had nothing to complain about :)

    Josie2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Small but stylist space with amazing local shops and restaurants all within walking distance! The studio was extremely clean and surprisingly quiet for being above a bar. It is a perfect and comfortable stay for 1-2 people. There is a small dining table for 2, a queen bed, a small kitchen that includes a small toaster oven and a toaster, and a bathroom with a standing shower that is tight in space. A parking permit is available for guests that have a car. Ubering and lyfting was extremely easy from and to this location. Anastasia was so quick to respond and upon meeting her, was also friendly and very kind. She offered great tips for local favorites and that’s exactly what we needed since we are from out of town. Overall, her hospitality was outstanding and I’d recommend staying at her Airbnb!

    Angela2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Lovejoy room was fantastic! The photos were accurate and already looked wonderful - the actual unit was even better! It was sparkling clean and incredibly comfortable. The parking and location were great. I highly recommend staying there. This was by far the best Airbnb experience I’ve had.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We had a wonderful stay at the South Tabor Cottage. Lisa was a great host and provided us with an amazing breakfast. I would recommend staying here and hope to return!

  • We loved our stay at the South Tabor cottage. Lisa and her family were lovely hosts and made us feel welcome right from the start. The cottage was clean and tidy and we loved having the fridge and kitchen area! And, Lisa's breakfast menu was amazing! The eggs benedict were fabulous and it was so relaxing to wake up and enjoy her cooking. Fantastic! The cottage is so cozy and we loved the windows upstairs. They let in so much light and we enjoyed reading and relaxing with a coffee in this beautiful neighbourhood. The cottage is near many places to eat and enjoy good coffee. We went for daily walks with our dog to the off leash park at Tabor mountain so this was a perfect location for us. We loved being away from downtown and more in the neighbourhoods of Portland where it was quieter and better for our dog. Great stay!

    Melanie2015-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is such a gracious, warm host. The cottage was perfect for my husband and I and came equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Cute and cozy. Would definitely stay again!

    Gregg2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place was quiet and located in a residential neighborhood close to food and mt tabour for walking! We were also just minutes from downtown! The cottage itself was clean! We would stay again!

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • Such a great experience! A beautiful home with such great detail. The tiny house was a perfect amout of space for 2-3 people. Bed was comfy as well! Perfect neighborhood with great restaurants, bars, shops. Everything we needed for an awesome weekend in portland!

  • Gorgeous little house in a cool part of Portland. Mike's bikes were great - as were several of the hosts recommendations... POK POK!

  • The tiny house is a real gem - it's a unique space and beautifully furnished with a lot of thought and love put into it. Check in was easy, it's extremely clean and Michael was very quick to communicate when ever we needed him. The area is great with many bars, shops and restaurants near by. Jenny provides a great number of fantastic places to go and eat and hang out when you're in Portland.

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • My best friend and I were in town for just one evening and Ivy was kind enough to let us use her lovely mud hut! Spring is a perfect time to visit this little get away. The raspberries were ripe and tasty and the garden was alive and beautiful. Even though the evening got chilly, the hut was nice and toasty the whole night through without a fire. The futon was comfy and there was a cute wood stove for if the night became too chilly inside the hut. Ivy was a pleasure and her children are charming and sweet. There was access to the bathroom and shower in the basement of the house, we had access to the outdoor kitchen and hot tub, although we did not have time to enjoy these amenities this time around. We were a half block out of the Car2go border, so we were able to have a vehicle for use without having to rent a car. We just left it parked up the block and this was another plus in favour of Ivy's hut.

    Angelina2014-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was a wonderful host, very accommodating and happy to make us feel at home. I must the the pictures din't really paint an accurate picture of the hut and grounds, fore they far exceeded our expectations. The grounds surrounding the hut we're beautiful and soothing. It was like waking up in a secret garden, nestled away right outside the heart of Portland. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night but would/will (hopefully) be staying again. Recommend highly!

    Rebecca2014-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy did a wonderful job checking in prior to our arrival, and keeping us up to date on her comings and goings. The space was well-set up upon arrival, peaceful, restful, and the neighborhood friendly and walkable. It was a lovely visit, and a great way to unplug!

    Regina2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The mud hut was awesome! We had so much fun at Ivy's place, from the moment we stepped out of the car and the chickens came to greet us. The hut is located in a lush garden with a great view overlooking the St. John's bridge. At night we had a blast sampling some of the lavender home brew and watching the stars in the hot tub. Just a few blocks down is a fun, quirky downtown St. John's area with all kinds of shops and eateries- highly recommend the kombucha speakeasy. Short drive to downtown Portland. Can't recommend this place enough! Definitely a great experience.

    Jon2016-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the mud hut was an awesome experience. The environment is so relaxing, especially waking up in the morning to fresh air and a view of St John's Bridge with Forrest Park in the background. At night, the hut comes to life lit with candles. I gotta admit I had trouble getting the fire going, should've joined boy scouts. Ivy was also really helpful recommending places to visit. I would definitely want to come back again.

    Jorge2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The mud hut was extremely comfortable, the owner was very nice and welcoming, and the property was amazing.

    Sierra2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • The experience of living in the mud hut is one of a kind. Everything about this place is wonderful. Firstly, I was so impressed by the way its been built and the unique character it exhibits. The fireplace and the candles surrounding the bed just made it so magical for me with the tiny little windows. Soaking into the hot tub with the view of the bridge and a glass of wine is something worth experiencing. I personally loved every moment and I wish could stay longer.

    Preeti 2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy and Potato (the cat) were wonderful host. Loved the fire pit, hot tub, wood stove in the hut and the red towels. We arrived at night and couldn't see the pathway little solar lights would have helped, and the little tea lights are a lovely touch but we couldn't see in our luggage, and the train track noise on Friday night was quite alarming.

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • We had a wonderful experience staying in the tiny house!! It is in a wonderful location within walking distance to many great places to eat and shop. We fell in love with the Kennedy School and Autentica had some of the best margaritas these Texans had ever tasted! Duston and Genevieve were gracious hosts who have thought of everything to make the house and experience amazing. Can't wait to come back!

    Megan2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Duston and Genevieve's Tiny House! It was great being able to see the hummingbirds in their garden from the window and they have a great dog. The location was perfect and the house was very modern and comfortable. Highly recommend!

    Sean2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Duston and Genevieve's tiny house was a perfect retreat for me after a busy week in Seattle. The house was clean and felt spacious because of the well laid out design and high ceilings. The bed was incredibly comfortable and warm... I loved waking up in the morning to the soft filtered light streaming in through the windows. The bathroom was a comfortable size and the kitchen, while small, had everything I needed to make a simple breakfast of tea and eggs from their chicken coop! I could tell that Duston and Genevieve put great care into creating an inviting home for their guests. There were thoughtful amenities throughout the home, from handmade ceramic mugs to a little handy basket of toiletries. The wifi was strong and I had all the privacy I needed. The location was in close walking distance to Alberta where you could find so many great restaurants and little boutiques. Thank you both for a great stay. Next time I come to Portland I hope that I'll be able to stay again!

    Anh2015-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed in the Portland Tiny House on our recent Portland trip and it was everything I could have imagined and more! We arrived when it was already dark and the tiny house was well lit (with outdoor string lights) and so easy to find. Dustin and Genevieve's instructions covered every single thing I could think of so we felt comfortable checking-in and settling into the tiny house. The bed was super comfortable and the linens were nice (I am a bit of a linens snob and I was happy with their offerings both for the bed and the bathroom). The chickens were cute and I enjoyed watching them in the morning. We have done Portland once before and stayed in downtown, so we didn't mind being a bit away from downtown for this trip. I think this Airbnb is only ideal if you have a car to get you around to downtown or are willing to uber. Just important to remember that it is in a residential area (with lots of restaurant offerings of it's own), but it is still a drive if you are wanting to be in downtown for some of your trip. We will try to stay here on our next trip to Portland and I will most definitely recommend to friends!

  • I fell in love with PTH on Instagram and the real-life experience was just as great as I anticipated! Cute decor, coupled with comfy details made this such a cozy stay. Even though it's "tiny", it's designed so thoughtfully that it doesn't feel small. Great shower, great bed, just all around a comfortable spot. Great for exploring the NW part of the city. Thanks, D and G!

    Vanessa2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Duston and Genevieve's tiny house! It's cute and cosy - a wonderful retreat from the crazy week of travelling. Feeling so inspired and well rested after staying there - wished we could of stayed longer! They are really responsive. We found their suggestions of things to do in the area super helpful. Thank youuu!

  • This was my first time going to Portland and I wanted to find a place that really captures the true Portland spirit - nailed it. The tiny house is a heavenly nook in a quaint yet artsy neighborhood. Quiet, peaceful, and lovely decor. Everything was a reasonable distance to the location, and there were lots of walkable options to explore.

    Ania2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the tiny house. It was close to restaurants and shops, easy parking, and was great to explore the Alberta Arts district of Portland. The hosts provided everything we needed!

  • Roland was such a great host!! He was there when I needed him, but otherwise our 2 schedules rarely intersected. The room was spacious and really fun to get up to - on this cool, kinda narrow, spiral staircase. He obviously put a lot of time into fixing it up. The bed was super comfortable. There are maps of the area. There's a fridge and microwave. There's a super cool bath with jets too. A special touch I liked was the mug for water - when brushing teeth. The temperature of the room was great - and could easily be adjusted - with opening doors, fans, and an A/C unit. I liked to run ceiling fan - but it didn't get too hot. There's a cute little cat, Little who slowly warmed up to me. She's supposedly a mean cat, and she let me pet her one time. That was all I was allotted. My only regret - nothing to do with room - is I should have rented a car. I relied on Lyft and Uber and it got very expensive quickly. If you're coming for more than a day or so - highly recommend you rent a car at airport. I would definitely stay here again. All in all - very pleasant experience. Thank you Roland!

  • R Roland was a gracious host and the loft was cool and comfortable! It's a great place to stay in a great neighborhood, within walking distance to Division. The listing was very accurate. I would love to stay here again!

  • Roland is a great host! Single ladies traveling alone do not hesitate to stay here! I felt completely safe and my space respected. It is a perfect location just a few blocks from great restaurants and a few blocks from a bus stop to take you downtown.

    Lisa2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Roland's. It doesn't get better than this. I hope to stay again when I'm in Portland.

    Azhar2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice loft apartment, very private. Roland is one of the nicest guys I've met through Air BnB or otherwise. Friendly and helpful. Location convenient to downtown, I walked it a couple of times. Close enough if you have the time, three miles...I didn't have a car, but there is off street parking. Loved the Jacuzzi tub, used it daily! Really nice stay, will stay again if the need arises. Thanks, Roland.

    Azhar2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Truly enjoyed my stay at “the loft.” Ronald was a great host. The loft was exactly as described, clean, comfortable and private. The room had tv with cable, a mini fridge, a microwave & coffee/coffee maker. Lovely, safe, family friendly neighborhood with plenty of parking . Walking distance to Division St where you can find trendy cafes, food and drink, and shops (loved Flying Cat Coffee, & the cute earnings I bought at Gypsy Chic Boutique!). I’d definitely recommend staying at “the loft.” Great space, at a great price, great location, & great host. Thank you for everything, Roland!

    Elizabeth2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Roland is a Portland gem and his place is conveniently located to my favorite co-op and the all of the places on Division and Hawthorne. If you needed to get to downtown, the 4 bus is close and quick. Roland himself is a very friendly gentleman who will respond to any questions or concerns about your stay.

    Michele2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Roland is one of the most kind and genuine people that I have ever met. He was super hospitable and quick to respond to all my inquiries. The space was super cozy. Roland's home is near a lot of neat restaurants/ shops on Division and is a short bus ride away from downtown Portland. I would definitely stay here again!

  • My family and I (all 5 of us) stayed with paul for 1 night. If was perfect for our brief stay in Portland. It was clean and private. He even had a little store with goodies in case you for got a toothbrush or razor. We tookadvantage of this for a toothbrush. The place is centally loctaed and there is a park right across the street for the kids to play or in our case to take a run on the track. We definitely recommend Paul's place.

    Ian2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Paul's Funky Pad Suite. The space was immaculate and the use of space worked so well. Every need was taken care of and thought out. The location was perfect...right across from Grant Park. We highly recommend this place.

  • Paul was very quick to respond and did a great job accommodating me. Good place to stay.

    Mathias2016-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Paul has done a great job of setting up his space - well thought out and cozy. Much appreciated touches, like the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser in the shower, cold water in the fridge, Portland reading, etc. made it extra comfortable. Bright and cheerful, and centrally located.

    Alexis2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • FunkyPad is Portland. This awesome converted attic/2nd story is great for a group in for a weekend trip it. Paul had some great rec's and was a stellar host. would totally stay again

    David2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a nice guy and a good host. Keeps a clean place in a great location central to the East side. Although it is the upstairs of his home it felt very private and I didn't hear anything from the first floor. I hope he didn't hear too much noise from us walking around his hardwood floors up above.

    Christopher2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Space is super cool, and feels great in the "keep it weird" Portland vibe! The upstairs bedroom kicks out over the front of the house with a little room that connects off the main room. The bathroom is also fully remodeled and was super nice for the duration of the stay!

    Julia2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This listing is absolutely awesome. It may look small from the outside but is actually quite spacious on the inside. It's a well designed home and has everything you could need. Small restaurants and bars are only two very short blocks away from the house should you need anything. The experience was absolutely smooth and easy. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Portland.

    Sean2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was perfect! It had everything we needed to feel comfortable during our time there, and the foam mattress was very comfortable. There were tons of restaurants nearby and it also was close to the highway for when we wanted to head elsewhere. Also the internet is super fast, which was a nice bonus.

  • Loved staying in this tiny house! The location was great...within a block of the many shops and resturants of Mississippi and buses to the MAX and downtown. Great pick if you will not have a car during your stay. Would definitely stay here again! Rick was very accommodating and helpful.

  • We had a great stay in portland. The house was very clean and fully equipped. The bed was a little bit too small but ok and enough to sleep. The neighbourhood is absolutely amazing, there are a lot of restaurants and bars in a short walking distance. Thanks Rick!

  • We loved our quick stay at Sari’s place. Very quaint and beautiful neighborhood but still not too far of a walk to Division or Hawthorne. Would come back again and am planning on it!

    Ryan2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic space. Easy to find and park up if driving. Plenty of public transport around, or if you’re lazy like me you can use Radio Cabs to get into town for about $9,a good service from them. All comms with Sari were excellent. The checkin/checkout process was really straightforward, and the apartment had everything I needed and more. Comfortable bed, great shower, easy to use oven and hob, all the important stuff - plus lots of thoughtful touches - olive oil and seasonings in the kitchen, useful bathroom / medical basics, all great! Would return without a second thought. There is a Safeway about three blocks away, and loads of bar/restaurant options. Total privacy with a nice little outside space for relaxing if you wish. Loved it!

  • Great, relaxing location!

    Denise2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to stay and explore Portland! There is so much good food and bars in and around Ed and Sari's place, we were in food heaven during our stay! The place itself is lovely and quiet, and is decked out with all the things you need to be perfectly comfortable while you stay. I would totally recommend staying here if you are heading to Portland :)

    Sacha2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ed & Sari's! The space has a really nice, peaceful vibe. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. We never had a problem parking (it's on a very quiet residential street). It's in a great location, walkable to LOTS of things (restaurants, bakeries, fruit & veggie market, etc). We'd definitely stay here again the next time we're in town.

  • Ed and Sari's place was the perfect home for our first trip to Portland! My husband and I had such a great time walking to all the great restaurants and shops nearby! We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area!

  • We found the place in great shape and perfect for our visit. It was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Sari was pleasant and a wonderful host. Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • Everything was great. We had a very pleasant stay here.

    Adam2015-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at the Artist's Garden Retreat! It was perfect for what we needed. We spent a long weekend up in Portland for a little vacation. Only about a 15-20 min drive from the airport, downtown and some amazing hiking trails! I was able to meet both of the hosts and they were very kind and willing to help out with anything we needed. The apartment was beautiful and makes you feel at home. The fireplace is a great touch! It was so nice to come back after a long day of activities and curl up next to the fire. This was my first time ever using Airbnb, I was extremely pleased with how it worked out. I have been recommending it to many friends and co-workers since! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! (:

    Kelsey2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Instructions were spot on. Very clean. Cozy and clean

    Jimmy2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is in NE but we did not feel unsafe for one minute (of course, you might want to get back wither with a car or if you area walking, make it before dark). For the foodies, the studio is a minute walk to a really good Ethiopian restaurant . We could easily walk to Alberta and all the restaurants and shops there. When in the place, you will realize Nell has thought of everything (from coffee to maps to the umbrella you might have forgotten!).

    Tzveta2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience with Airbnb. With that being said, this place really set a high bar! The photos provided are exactly like that place which is always a relief. It was very comfortable and homey. It was also in a great neighborhood and there was a lot to do within walking distance. We got to meet our host Nell and she was very friendly and accommodating! We'll definitely be visiting again!

    Angela2015-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nell's studio is a gem of Portland. It is most beautiful with books covered wall and big open windows with beautiful wood trims. It is extremely clean and full of amenities from fresh towels to hair dryer to coffee and tea. It is in residential neighborhood with easy to find street parking. We didn't get to meet our host but we would love to have another chance to spend more time here, perhaps to read some of the awesome books on the shelves or touring the garden outside.

    Emily2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Nell's studio for one night at the end of a short break in Oregon. I wish we had spent more time at the studio as it is an inspiring space just to be in. Nell's place is not your average Airbnb rental and really exceeds expectations in terms of the quality of the room and everything in it. As a studio, the natural light in the room is a thing to behold, and it would make a great working space for someone on conference travel. After spending some time out and about in the neighborhood, we settled in to watching the wood burning stove as the rain came down outside.

    Harry2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Didn't stay there much, as I spent more time in town, but a cozy lil space and close to some spots we wanted to visit. The coffee service was awesome!

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.
  • I stayed here once before, and I would stay here again. It's a pleasant room with a friendly host, and it's walking distance to several restaurants. It served my needs well.

  • I only stayed at Sheilah's place for one night on my way back to California from Canada, but I wish I could have stayed longer! She was extremely accommodating and communicative, letting me know how to let myself in independently and assuring me that it was no problem to arrive late at night. The room is more spacious than it looks in pictures, and is clean, calming, and relaxing. The house is comfortable and quiet, and the shared bathroom was spotless and easy to access (right outside the room). I had a good night's sleep and was up early the next morning to hit the road again—only got to chat with Sheilah for a few minutes, but she was very warm and welcoming! I'd definitely recommend her to fellow travelers, whether you're just passing through or spending some time getting to know the city. And as a young woman traveling alone, it meant a lot to me that I felt completely safe in her home.

Relaxed, spacious + modern basement apartment with private entry. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers, it's a great landing pad to explore Portland. 15 minutes from the airport, and downtown, ample free parking and free wi-fi . We are within walking distance to outstanding restaurants + bars: Breakside Brewery, Woodlawn Coffee, The Firehouse, Tamale Boy, Tough Luck Bar, Dame, Beast, Expatriot, DOC, and many other great restaurants, brewpubs and boutiques.
The apartment is located in our mid-century home on a quiet residential street in the hip Concordia neighborhood. Situated between the exciting Alberta Arts District, Concordia University and the up-and-coming Woodlawn neighborhood, you cannot beat the selection of great restaurants, shops, and parks within walking or biking distance. • This place is described as it is and is located in the lower/basement level of the house. Therefore, there’s a stair going up and down. They have a great amenities and a comfy bed. There’s no TV in the unit but that’s not an issue for us. It is good to be unplugged from electronic devices once in a while. Both Melissa and Ken are great hosts and we saw Truman and their black cat!

  • Melissa's place is lovely! Melissa and Ken were great hosts, putting out coffee and things for the morning for us when we arrived. The apartment was really clean and well layed out, and is only a short walk from some great restaurants and bars if you wanted to stay local for an evening. Overall a great place and would happily stay again.

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • A casa é legal.

  • Joseph's apartment was beautiful and the pellet stove was a nice added touch to top it off! Joseph was very prompt in responding via text and providing instructions ahead of time. We arrived late and left the next morning later than we had originally planned, but Joseph was flexible and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, private and cozy place to stay while visiting Portland!

  • All we can say is WOW! The place was super cool and spotless. Brad was amazing and made everything easy. Plus this condo is in the most fantastic part of this incredible city! We walked everywhere we wanted to go! Shopping on NW23rd, Dining in the Pearl, show at the Crystal Ballroom, Breakfast in the SW, movies at the Living Room, the Saturday Market, the Farmer's Market, the art gallery, and on and on. Nothing was more than a 15-20 min walk away, and usually shorter! We will be back next year!

  • My husband and I had a great stay. The apartment is bright, fresh, and sparkling clean. The décor is charming and comfortable. It was great to be easy walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit downtown. You're staying in the city, so city sounds are expected. I sleep with earplugs anyway (and my husband didn't need them) so sound wasn't an issue. The host took care of everything we needed, so the process went off without hitch.

    Heather2013-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Brads rental fell on the last day of our 8 day tour of the PNW and it was indeed the best for last. We absolutely loved the decoration of the rental and every thing we needed to fully enjoy Portland was available. The pictures do not do the space justice as we were surprised to arrive and see that the rental far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this rental and it was an exceptional value for the quality.

  • The host was quick to help when we had a problem with the lock box (the problem was we were at the wrong one!) and within 10minutes arrived to help us get in. The pictures and description are accurate and it is a great, clean apartment in a great location, we would definately stay here again. Thanks!

  • Great location! Never having been to Portland before, we didn't really know where a good area to stay would be but this was perfect! The apartment had everything we needed and then some. We loved that parking was easy and we were right next to the food scene. It was very clean and we liked that there was an elevator. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends.

  • Brad was a gracious and responsive host. The apartment is nicely situated close to the Pearl district and downtown Portland. Brad left great instructions for the studio and also great restaurant and bar recommendations for the surrounding area. The apartment was the perfect size for our trip, and matches all the photos. Next time we go to Portland, we will definitely try to book this charming studio again.

Enjoy Portland in our beautiful, modern guest house. You will be located in a quiet neighborhood nestled between the heart of downtown St Johns and the University of Portland.
Hello! We have a 600 sq. ft, bright, modern guest house tucked away behind our main house. During your stay you will have access to a fully stocked kitchen including: coffee and 3 ways to brew it, microwave, range, refrigerator, toaster, dishware, pots & pans, and baking goods. The space is loaded with windows which lets in a lot of natural light. The lofted area has a queen size bed, large closet, desk area and full bathroom. The space is ideal for 2 people, but it could certainly work for 3. There's a twin blow-up mattress or the couch for the third person. The house is filled with reclaimed wood, handcrafted light fixtures and artistic touches - make sure to check out all of the pictures!
We are located in the University Park neighborhood of Portland - about 1 mile away of the downtown St Johns neighborhood and 1 mile away from the the University of Portland The University Park neighborhood is within walking distance, or a short drive, to parks - including Cathedral Park - bars, food carts, coffee shops, restaurants, a fitness center (Westcoast Fitness) a farmers market (only runs during the summer months), antique/thrift stores, and various other shops. Forest Park, Portland's largest park that's filled with hiking and biking trails, is located 1.5 miles away, directly across the St. Johns Bridge. Please note: Our house is not located within walking distance of downtown Portland!
  • As an LA based architect, I've never seen a well crafted guest home like this one. We fell in love with the vaulted ceilings and the skylights. As for the owners, Heidi & Marenda really wen't above and beyond with their hospitality. They provided snacks and really good coffee for us during our stay. Our only regret was not staying longer, next time. -Zaven

  • It was a pleasure meeting Heidi and Marenda. Their place is very cute and in a quite part of town. I would stay here again!

  • This was my first ever trip to Portland. I searched through the site and only looked for "wow" kind of places. The loft design with the concrete floor and upstair bedroom caught my eye upon browsing. It's not enough to just have a good-looking place but for it to be well-furnished. This AirBnb was a splurge since I appreciate places with modern clean style. The check-in and check-out processes were a breeze. Heidi and Marenda were so quick to respond. The neighborhood was nice and quiet with tons of parking for my rental I got from a few streets over at Enterprise. Bathroom's a bit small, but the design of the space was unique. The bed was also comfy. I enjoyed waking up to the sound of rain on the cool skylights. Great professional AirBnb hosts with a wonderful place to share!

    Shirley2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Heidi and Marenda's beautiful loft! Their place had everything that we could have needed and more to enjoy our relaxing two night stay in Portland. The neighbourhood was quite which was nice, and not too far from downtown Portland. The listing description was very accurate, and we would definitly recommend this place to others looking for a quite retreat in the Portland area.

  • The house and yard were beautiful, and had incredibly lovely touches that really enhanced our stay. There were fresh plums from the garden waiting for us, the bed was comfy and the shower was great. Highly recommended!

  • For a relaxing, clean, welcoming stay, this is the place to be. Their home is gorgeous and in a great location.

    Kristofer2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Your place was absolutely incredible. Every detail was so beautifully thought out. It was comfy and cozy and had everything we could possibly need. You two were so sweet in leaving us blueberries and yogurt and granola and coffee! We will definitely be back!

    Nick2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful!! So clean and many thoughtful touches. Heidi and Marenda have done an amazing job with the space they have created. Would love to stay here again.

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!
  • So cute and comfortable!!! Great restaurants within walking distances.

    Chelsea2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Todji And Gisele are fantastic hosts. Their Magic Barn is in a great location, in a very walkable neighborhood. Coffeeshops, brunches, and a mini Powell's bookstore are a short walk away. An spectacular respite to call home.

    Amy2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience we had here at The Magic Barn! Todji and Gisele are just lovely, warm, radiant beings with such grace and hospitality. Not only was the barn everything we could've imagined and more, but it was centrally located to EVERYTHING. Just a quick zip in your car to anything North, South, East, and West that you may desire to go. The barn was private and yet communal when you wanted it to be. The layout of the inside was thought out so well, and meant to make you feel a relaxed "at-home" feeling. Not to mention the trees shaking their branches through the skylight as a morning greeting. We just can't gush enough about this space and will be returning as soon as the Universe allows.

    Heather2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great Southeast Portland space. Unique former sculpting studio. Walkable location to many great dining options. Highly recommend.

    Max2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Magic Barn is a work of art. Great thought and attention has been given to every detail. The space is beautiful and comfortable. Being set back behind the main house, far from the road, makes the Magic Barn feel private and secluded. You are close to busy neighborhoods but there's plenty of peace and quiet. Two different strips of hip and happening activity are a very short walk away. We found awesome shopping, coffee shops, and some of the best restaurants in Portland without getting in our car. The Magic Barn was worth every penny.

NEW MURPHY BED w/ comfy mattress. Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom, but no real kitchen. Short Term Rental Permit Numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) -HO
Brand new, tiny-home style house. 200 sq ft. Covered porch. Full bath with standing tile shower. Full-size wall bed "Murphy bed" installed December 2015. Bamboo floors & reclaimed wood stairs. No kitchen, but has a microwave for heating up leftovers, water, or popcorn. Wifi. This is one block off Mississippi Ave, with many bars, restaurants, and one of the best coffee shops (Fresh Pot) in Portland. A block away from Amnesia Brewing and Grand Central bakery. 10 minute walk from the Yellow Line MAX (Overlook station.) Mississippi Studios is right down the street- a fantastic venue for local and traveling bands.
  • The little pink house was super cute and we had a great stay. Rick ensured easy access and everything went very smoothly. The Mississippi neighborhood is definitely worth checking out and the little pink house is perfectly located.

    Edward2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cool little place to stay near Mississippi. Great walking distance to many points of interest and the yellow line into downtown

    Elizabeth2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the Mississippi area, and the pink house was perfect for our two-night stay. The cleaners had not shown up yet when we came to check in, but Rick got in touch with them and we were able to get into the house an hour or so later. There was plenty to do on Mississippi while we were waiting! By the way, he isn't kidding that the "stairs" are really more of a ladder. Luckily, there are bannisters, but still--careful if you have bad knees!

    Rebecca2014-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in the little pink house. It was a super cute place and close to Mississippi Avenue and bus stops. We were able to use the bus system to get everywhere in Portland.

    Carrie2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The little pink house provided us a picturesque Portland get away. The loft bed was extremely cozy and there was just enough space for us to hang out downstairs on a rainy day. We fell in love with the Mississippi location. There is a great brewery and lots of vegan food a block away. Hopping on public transit was EXTREMELY easy. We were able to access all parts of Portland by just using a $5 day pass for Trimet. Rick was extremely responsive and helpful through the process. It was relieving getting in from the airport and being able to walk in to exactly what you were expecting. I highly precommend Rick's little pink house!

    Savannah2014-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This architectural duo really has a striking presence on this beautifully landscaped corner location. You cannot beat this location! I had a wonderful yoga and bakery right down the street and my fiancé could easily walk to his course at the United Bicycle Institute. Excellent communication with Rick throughout. Thanks very much!

    Paula2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my time. It was just what I needed. The only thing I can think of, that I'd add, would be quick instructions for what all the different light switches do. I figured it out, but I kept having to flip them one by one to get the right switch. Otherwise, I can now say I've lived in one of those tiny houses for a couple days.

    Kat2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Pink house is super cute. It's super tiny so I don't recommend more than two persons at one time. (Watch your head with the low ceiling at the top of the ladder!) But, the light that comes through this place is great. The location is just minutes from all the fun stuff, lots of great restaurants within walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • This place is exactly as described, next to a great little park and playground where our daughter loved the swings and merry-go-round. It was also just a very short walk to some great restaurants, shops and the local Safeway supermarket.

  • A quick bump at the beginning was resolved super quickly and our first Airbnb stay was great! We loved Jennifer’s place and the location. It’s central to everything; it’s a foodie’s paradise. Jennifer is very friendly and she thought of everything in the home to ensure guests are comfortable. Don’t think twice about this one, it was excellent!

  • Great value close to downtown but still nice and quiet at night. Amazed with how clean the place was. Look like the place was recently remodeled with a lot of great touches. Pros: location, cleanliness, value, parking, ease of access. Cons: stairs, small TV, no WIFI.

Our small (8X12) free-standing studio is light-filled, private and tucked away under the trees. With a comfortable queen-sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge electric kettle and table, you will be cozy here! Please note: The Tiny House does not have its own bathroom. Guests use a shared bathroom just inside the back door of our house (our family has a primary bathroom upstairs, but we use the downstairs bath occasionally. We keep it clean and use it minimally when guests are in the tiny house).
Our tiny house is a delightful retreat. While you do share a bathroom in the house, this outdoor studio will offer you great privacy. The tiny house is set up for you to be able to sleep and make coffee/tea and microwavable meals. There is a mini-fridge for your perishable foods, and microwave and electric kettle. There is a table which you can use for dining and also as your desk. Enjoy sipping a cup of locally roasted coffee (beans provided!) while you enjoy the peaceful trees in our 2/3 acre yard. Our backyard also has a large "pump track" that Joel made, as an enthusiastic mountain biker. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes and ride it! The tiny house is very small so we do not store many things in there, but we do have additional amenities available, including: extra pillows and blankets, extra fans and space heaters, hair dryer, curling iron, clothing iron, yoga mat, extra towels, kitchen utensils, tupperware and more. If there is something you need, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate! Please Note: There is no kitchen or plumbing in the tiny house-it is small studio. It works best for guests who plan to eat out or prepare very simple foods with the microwave and mini fridge. We are happy to provide extra plates, silverware, etc. and if you need to wash a dish or two, just let us know and you can pop into our kitchen.
We live in Portland's Lents neighborhood, which is ethnically diverse and not yet gentrified. We are close to some lovely local nature preserves, including Leach Botanical Gardens and Powell Butte. We are also close to freeways, airport, parks and public transit. Please note: We are about 10 miles from downtown Portland and about 3-5 miles from the "hip" neighborhoods in SE Portland that have a lot of walkable attractions. If you have a car it is pretty easy to get around from here, but this is not the ideal neighborhood if you are hoping to walk to Portland's best spots without driving or taking the bus. You can walk to Safeway, Walgreens, and the closest bus stop very easily from here.
  • Although we were only in Portland for 24 hours, everything was really good. Kate and Joel made it so easy for us to come and go as our schedules permitted. They left a list of wonderful places to eat and visit, several of which we made it to in our short time there! The tiny house was easy to find and pretty close to the airport. It was cozy and comfortable.

    Erin2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you! Tranquil and like living in a forest. As we were out downtown for the night, we didn't see Kate and Joel much, but they were very welcoming! We felt as if we were living in a real tiny house. Our one concern was shared bathroom, but as only steps away, we were actually grateful for the privacy the tiny house provided. 20min from downtown via MAX or Uber it was great to return to our own tiny house in an urban forest. Thank you Kate and Joel

  • The tiny house was awesome! Comfortable, and so clean! We'd definitely stay again.

  • Great experience and extremely comfortable stay! Will stay here again next time i'm in Portland.

  • This tiny house was beautiful, and everything we needed to have a restful night on a long camping road trip. The farm was cute and the room was very pretty and comfortable. Ahead of time I was a little unsure what the bathroom situation would be like, but it worked ok for us. The only real issue I could see is that for a longer stay this Tiny House might start to feel a little small.

    Sarah2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was so cute. Comfortable bed and great accommodations. Using the bathroom inside their house was different, but they made it easy. Overall great place, cute property, and friendly owners!

  • We had a great stay at Adam and Arthur's place! We were only there a few nights but felt very at home into their gorgeous house. Our room was lovely, really comfy and we had great access to the bathroom and kitchen which made our time there feel very easy and relaxed..the free beer in the fridge was a nice touch too ;) They were really accommodating with us needing to check in earlier which we really appreciated. The location is amazing, literally a 5 minute walk to Mississippi Ave where there were a heap of great bars, restaurants and the iconic Mississippi studios for some live music. And about a 15 minute drive to Alberta st which is another spot to check out that side of town. Would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Portland we really felt very at ease and at home and that is what you really want when you are traveling so thanks guys! Olivia and Sumner

  • Great location, very clean, very comfortable bed (I have a bad back, so a good bed makes a huge difference). This was my first experience staying at an Airbnb, and I'm sold!

    Juan2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay here and found the home and location to be very comfortable and convenient; very walkable and accessible by transit. I had not realized that Adam & Arthur do not live in the home, so it really felt more like a guesthouse. There seemed to be other units they own/Airbnb on the same property, so while I did not meet them during my stay, my interactions with other guests were pleasant.

  • We loved this space for our last 2 days in Portland! It was so clean and cozy but spacious! I loved that it felt brand new but still charming. It was perfect for my toddler, husband, and me. The kitchenette was all we needed! It was so many small things that added up to a great stay!

  • My three friends and I stayed at Chuck and Annika's place for 4 days and it was the most comfortable stay we've had throughout our entire trip. It was our first time visiting Portland and this was the best location for the best deal we found. The place welcomed us with a little sign at the door saying "Welcome Regine and Company!" Regine is my sister who booked the place. They had a plate of cookies ready for us, a book that had a list of places to visit, it was all very convenient. Parking was never a problem to find, as long as your courteous to other drivers and you can easily parallel park. The bathroom was neat, clean, and well stocked, as was the kitchenette. There was a microwave available, where we kept any leftovers. The living area was spacious and can easily turn into two beds. They had Netflix and AppleTV available. The bedroom was very cozy. I can say nothing wrong with this place! We loved it. If we were to move to Portland, this place would be the ideal space for us. The only thing is we wish there were blinds or a curtain on the front door window. But other than that, this was place was amazing! We're glad we got to meet Chuck while he was leave blowing out in the yard. haha which was another amazing thing we loved about Portland, all the leaves!

  • The experience with Chuck and Annika is exactly as one would wish for all airbnb experiences. (and I have had some bad ones). When the unit was available earlier than the check in time, they communicated this to me just in case this made life better for me. We were welcomed with cookies and a nice note. The quality of the extra blankets made cuddling up on the couch for a movie a really nice one.

  • This place is great! Chuck and Annika provided timely communication with clear directions and instructions for our stay. The apartment is exactly as pictured/described. This first airbnb experience was extremely positive and beyond my expectations. The apartment is in a great neighborhood with tons to do in walking distance. Between the awesome apartment, welcoming hosts, and great location, this experience will be tough to top!

  • Very clean and comfortable basement apartment in a great location. We had everything we needed, and found Chuck and Annika to be very responsive, gracious, considerate hosts. Parking on the street was easy, and neighborhood safe and quiet. So much fun to be able to walk a couple blocks to Division Street to enjoy the shops and great restaurants! Thank you for your hospitality.

Think of a hostess who was born for this. Multiply by 10. The attention that greeted us at the door, the information she gave us about public transport on trips, about where to dine, where to rent a car for a good price and even where the gasoline was cheaper,They were precious. Cleaning the house, the good smell of a well-kept house, access to all the kitchen paraphernalia, even when cooked tapioca one for her, made us feel a pleasant like "I'm home." Could translate that stay in one word: Amazing. It seemed that we had already known of other lives. Thank you very much, Alleyn. We enjoyed even of you. I recommend to everyone as one of the best places to stay in Portland.
