  • Amazing house in a unique area of Portland. Lance was a great host and I would recommend his place for a quite getaway. The view is breath taking from the tree house too.

  • My brother and I decided to make a trip to Portland/Seattle for a fun vacation, and the opportunity to see the other side of the country. Lance's home did not disappoint. We have been in Portland a few days now and the view from the treehouse is the absolute BEST in the city. We spent our first night there and it was a breathtaking way to begin our trip- and see all of Portland before diving into the city. Lance was an awesome host, great to converse with, and had the sweetest cat you will ever meet (this is coming from a dog person). We had such a wonderful time and are looking forward to visiting again soon!

  • The treehouse is a very unique place to stay, and has great views of downtown Portland. Lance is a very nice host and communicates well.

    Kara2016-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lance welcomed us at the agreed check-in time and helped us carry our bags downstairs. The separate sitting room has a table large enough to do some serious work if need be. The bedroom has an attached bathroom and shower. Lance provided the shampoo, hand soap and plenty of towels and a hair dryer. There is plenty of space in the closet to hang full length clothes and store suitcases. The bed is comfortable and the linens are soft and cozy. Words will not describe the view from the full length windows in the bedroom. My husband and I usually have our laptops out–but, not once did we ever power up. We rarely used our phones except to play some background music. We spent all of Saturday late afternoon and evening simply watching the weather changes, Mt Hood, Mt St. Helens, and airplanes land at the Portland Airport and the Portland traffic. It was an on and off rainy weekend, but in the treehouse it was still bright and cheerful. The two decks offer standing room only, but are perfect for taking some photos and taking in fresh air. We didn’t spend as much time with Lance but when we did, it was good conversation and pleasant. He is a generous host offering coffee in the morning and whatever is in the fridge. Lance’s kitten Bukowski checked in on us from time to time, offering to play and snuggle up. Bukowski is quite interested in visitors and curious about what you’re doing. Truly one of the most relaxing and enjoying trips my husband and I have taken in the last few years.

  • Lance was welcoming and very easy to communicate with. The house and your room are even more incredible than the pictures make it seem. There are a collection of helpful PDX magazines for finding food, but you'll probably spend your entire time gazing out at the city or enjoying the sunrise. Thanks for the awesome stay Lance!

    Anthony2015-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The "house on a stick" is absolutely beautiful... the space has great views and the room is comfy and well kept. We woke up to watch the sunset, experiencing something in Portland you could only see from a few locations. Lance was welcoming although some of the pictures in his living room, along with some of his stories made us (three young women) feel a bit uncomfortable. We felt safe since there was a lock on the door. Probably best suited for couples and not single women travelers.

    Shonna2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was a gracious host and happily shared his house and it's great history. Amazing space and an unforgettable view (great furniture collection too!). Definitely a unique perch to stay in while checking out Portland. 5-10 min away from downtown and right next to council crest park.

    Edward2015-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing house up in the hills with a great view out over Portland. Lance is a great host - very thoughtful and hospitable. You will need a car if planning to stay here, but it is highly recommended.

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • This home was in a perfect location! It was very peaceful at night and the bed is awesome. Great place to stay!

    Jelena2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cob cottage is a beautiful oasis in a perfect neighborhood with plenty of great food in walking or biking distance! Wake up to a beautiful backyard garden with a small koi pond and a bamboo forest in the city of roses and don't think twice about it. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the hosts are more than gracious. I would recommend this home anybody visiting or even living in Portland for a delightful escape!

  • I stumbled upon this listing and knew right away that this is where I was supposed to stay when visiting Portland. As a cob builder myself, I can testify that this cob cottage was built with much skill and love. At the same time that I felt to be a solitary guest in a cabin in the woods, I was actually situated in the midst of one of Portland’s best walkable neighborhoods with access to restaurants of many cuisines, coffee shops, groceries, and transit to the rest of the city. I wish I could have had more time to chat with Chris and Jack, however, I used to live in Portland and my old buddies kept kidnapping me from my cottage my the koi pond. I did get to meet and chat with Cris one day on my way out on a venture. We had much to talk about and left much for the next time we might meet. Cris and Jack are tremendously hospitable and so is the space they have created. If you are visiting Portland, and are looking for a unique and comfortable dwelling in a great neighborhood, and if you are lucky enough for this cozy space to be available, don’t hesitate one second. It’s the best deal in town.

  • The cottage was the perfect place for my wife and I to stay during our holiday vacation. The location was perfect -- secluded enough when we wanted a quiet evening and close enough to restaurants, shops and bars that it was always easy to find something to do. The cottage itself was very clean and warm, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Staying in such a unique location really made our Portland trip memorable.

    Chris2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous stay at the cob cottage! Warm and cozy even in January. Loved the room, loved the string lights, loved the cats roaming about outside. Great communication from Jack and Chris -- overall a good experience in SE Portland!

    Addie2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in a quiet and walkable neighborhood with great food and style. My husband and I had a nice sleep in such a sweet little space. The bed was a bit squishy for my taste but overall we slept peacefully and enjoyed being there and meeting the funny cats that came to the door.

    Jessica2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful secluded but central cottage. Felt very private and cozy.

    Jacqueline2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thoughtful details to this storybook-style cottage. Impressive craftsmanship. Clean and comfortable. Inside, there is just enough room to move around the bed, but the nearby kitchenette with couch and back porch with table and chairs made it easy to spread out. There were other guests staying on the property, but we felt like we had the place more or less to ourselves. Hosts checked in to see if we needed anything. Good food and beer within walking distance. Great first trip to Portland.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • The host made herself available to accomodate me on short notice, and was very welcoming once I arrived. Worth noting, if you use the Navigation App WAZE, you will be sent to the N part of town not the NE part of town where she is located. Please be aware of this and ask the host for directions in advance, or use a different Navigation System. Otherwise, the place was cozy and warm. The only other part worth mentioning is that you will need to make your way up and down a steel ladder with rounded rungs. (not square) This was somewhat challenging in the middle of the night when I had to use the restroom in the main house. It's certainly dobale, but would be a concern for older folks or those who are not very 'well coordinated' in the middle of the night. Otherwise, the stay was lovely and environment was very homey.

  • Andrée was great! Very knowledgable about local spots to visit including restaurants and funky spaces. And the accommodations are VERY Portland :)

    Ashley2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée's place was perfect! It's close to the airport and just a short walk to charming neighborhood cafes, bars, and restaurants. Highly recommend.

    Jonny2013-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was super friendly and helpful. The cottage was very nice and stayed comfortable even though Portland was quite hot during my visit. The brewpub and coffee shop within walking distance were super cool as well. I had a great stay.

    Caleb2014-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a great host, smiling and prone to discussions to change the world. She has an adorable little dog, big plus ;) As the studio is in a court, it is very easy to communicate with her during the stay. She will certainly give you good places for brunch or go out to Portland. The studio is very clean and warm. The only snag is that the restroom and showers are not in the studio, you have to go home but access is quit easy. Although the house is in a residential area, the Alberta Street or Williams Street are 5 minutes away by car or bus. The bus passes relatively frequently. I would recommand this place anytime!

    Josiane2014-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Andrée was a perfect experience - the garden studio was thoughfully designed and situated in a beautiful garden. It had everything we needed for cooking, sleeping, relaxing and exploring Portland. Andrée was an amazing host, so kind, hospitable and eager to ensure that our stay in Portland was memorable! I cannot recommend the studio enough and hope that anyone looking at staying in Portland consider this amazing space.

    Zoe2013-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The space is quaint, cozy and private.

    Don2013-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a wonderful, wonderful host. She waited up for us till 3 in the morning to help us check in after a very delayed drive up from San Francisco, and was extremely friendly and accommodating during our stay at her studio, which was beautiful, well-kept, and a quintessential Portland space that was cozy and had more amenities than we could ask for. I very much enjoyed chatting with Andrée while she was around (I am a little obsessed with her Shih Tzu, Boo, haha), and she was happy to give us suggestions for places we should visit. Didn't get a chance to visit her consignment store, but I'd love to next time. Would most definitely recommend her to all of my friends visiting Portland!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv i, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • It was a great spot to stay in Portland, close to many places by bus. Best part was fireplace. Hannah was kindly helped me to light the fire. Thank you!

    Yuki2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Good spot to explore P-Town from. We were very happy with our choice to stay here. It's a very charming studio in the neat and walkable Irvington neighborhood. The check-in and our was super easy. Hannah was nice and a quick communicator. The apartment part of a remodeled historic 1910 home-- has lots of character -- a private place to stay. Bed is quite comfortable and there is a nice TV and sofa setup. I thought the coffee, Oregon magazines/guides, and house guide were thoughtful touches. Highly recommend staying here for any visits to Portland.

  • Lovely place. Perfect location for a weekend in Portland. Awesome fireplace and a comfy bed. Definitely recommend it.

    Chris2016-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was a beautiful studio with good privacy in a beautiful neighborhood. I had the opportunity to say hello to Jason and he was a very cool dude. The studio was clean and felt like home away from home. I would recommend this.

    Ajit2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jason was excellent to communicate with and very accommodating when we had to leave one night early due to my bike accident.

    Kathy2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay in Portland. It was really close to restaurants and shops. Would definitely come back and stay here. Thanks Jason!

We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • We were very lucky to be able to stay here. The house and apartment were so charming, as were the hosts! It was close to everything we needed. I highly recommend this lovely cottage.

  • The place was fantastic, everything we wanted, great location, beautiful space, very friendly, and def loved the kitchen to make breakfast in, and the washer and dryer to wash our cloths after the hot springs! Sue and Bob were really nice, we would def stay there again.

  • The Garden Apartment is a lovely basement apartment with many special touches such as plush towels, down comforter, period kitchen decor, fresh fruit, coffee and tea, instant oatmeal, popcorn, etc. to make your stay very comfortable. The home is located in the Laurelhurst area of Portland with good streets for walking and a lovely neighborhood. It is easy to reach any area of Portland with highway 84 close by. Sue and Bob are welcoming hosts and enjoy interacting with guests. Our only problem was the furnace coming on at night which we were not used to in our own home.

    Peter2012-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • They reached out with a frienly phone call. Wonderful host ...very comfortable to visit with. You can tell they enjoy sharing their lovely home.

  • This apartment is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Portland. It has everything we needed including a large bathroom with lots of towels and places to put our stuff. The closet in the bedroom was plenty big for us and we appreciated the hangers. We stayed for six nights so we like to unpack everything. And, we liked being able to do our laundry right there in the apartment -- very convenient. Also, the apartment has very nice furnishings and decor. It is a quiet and private place even though it is in the basement. It is close to downtown and other places to visit around Portland. And, the drive to the airport took about 15 minutes. Bob & Sue have a lovely home and they were very welcoming. We feel very fortunate to get to stay there, and we enjoying their cat, Snowball.

    Betty2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one night, but this place was great! Bob and Sue were wonderful, and the area was beautiful. Everything about it was awesome, and we will be coming back again.

  • My fiance's Mike and I had a wonderful experience staying at the English Cottage. Sue & Bob are super friendly and welcoming! It was delightfully decorated in a 50's theme! We were very comfortable (the bed was wonderful), and as other reviewers have noted, there was a gift basket with treats on our arrival. Sue & Bob go above and beyond in there host role. The cottage had everything we needed including travel guides and maps for Portland. Also had a folder with written instructions inside about the cottage which was very clearly written and helpful! The area is upscale and beautiful and Laurelhurst Park offers wonderful walks and picnic areas. This is a 5 star airbnb!!

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block or two of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Laurel & Brian's unit. Check in was super easy, the place was perfectly located for us, walkable from a quite a bit, and central and drivable to everything else we wanted or needed to do while in Portland. The unit was clean, comfortable, spacious, and well equipped with lots of nice little details that made it a perfect spot. The bed was super comfy too. :)

  • Everything about our experience with not only the place, but Brian and Laurel was fantastic! We were here for my daughter's wedding where I was not only mother of the bride but event designer. The guest house gave me a great place to work and organize and a respite from the chaos. Laurel and Brian were incredibly accommodating in helping reduce the stress of preparation. The decor-fabulous; The location-fabulous- great restaurants within walking distance; the hosts-fabulous!!!!

    Regina2016-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Laurel and Brian's guest house was perfect. Everything was as described and the space was SUPER clean. It's located in a great little neighborhood with plenty to explore, eat and drink thanks to the nice list of recommendations. This is a great place to stay if you want to be a tad off the beaten path but close enough to enjoy a long walk or short bike ride into the city.

    Tim2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space big enough to accommodate a traveling pair. We enjoyed the location and the morning coffee was a bonus for my brother, a coffee fanatic. With many shops and hip places within walking distance, this is a great place to stay sandwiched between two hip districts!

    Lindsay2018-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's guest house was perfect! Everything was super clean and looked exactly like the pictures. The location was great if you don't want to be in the heart of the city and there are tons of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

    Lauren2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing space close to great restaurants and easy access to both downtown as well as the interstate! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • Laurel and Brian's place is great! My wife, son, and I stayed for 2 nights. It is centrally located so that it is easy to commute quickly anywhere around Portland. The neighborhood is beautiful! The back home is warm, inviting and was done tastefully. The loft has the bed and it has a great open feeling ! We loved our time there!!

  • Tims place was a cool little spot in an up and coming area of Portland. Bus stop right outside the door to take you wherever you wanna go. The bed was huge and super comfortable. Would definitely stay there again!

    John2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • awesome place!

    Ryan2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place near some cool restaurants.

    Michael2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time and everything was great!

    Paul2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The beds are very comfy and the room has a great vibe. It was in a walkable distance to restaurants and shops, specifically Mississippi Street. Timothy approved our stay within an hour of us booking, we did not give much notice so he was very accommodating. Highly recommended!

    Autumn2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • I can tell that Timothy has taken a lot of time and money to renovate the actual bedroom. He was also very responsive and kind. However, the apartment was not near any major tourist attractions. I would recommend staying on the other side of the bridge. Also, there was cat hair in the room. I am allergic, so my eye puffed up. The shower curtain was stained.

    Marylyn2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty and convenient but the room was very noisy.

    John2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy's Spacious bedroom was exactly what we needed. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Being off the main road, it was a bit noisy but the location was quite convenient - near a bus stop, walking distance from some restaurants and right next to Bushel & Peck (an amazing bakery). The shared bathroom was clean and there was never a wait - complete with shampoo and conditioner. We had a great stay and would come back if we came back to the area.

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; It's quite small, so if you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Melissa's place. Our schedule was very full while we were in town and the studio was a great quiet retreat to rest. Although we were not able to meet Melissa in person due to our schedule, her communication was excellent. She had left us many tips on places to eat and see. Gaining entry to the studio was very simple and convenient. We will keep Melissa's studio on our list for our next trip to Portland.

    A.J.2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's lovely garden studio has everything you could want. Stylishly and comfortably furnished, this place is an absolute gem. Melissa has paid great attention to detail and has provided every comfort - everything is high quality such as the fluffy towels, toiletries, desk space, seating area and small kitchen space. Oregon Chocolate in the fridge was a lovely touch too. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is also really good. Location wise, the neighbourhood is perfect for foodies. Division Street has numerous restaurants, brewery/bars, cafes and a wonderful food cart pod which we went to twice! We would love to have spent longer exploring the streets and quaint shops. The area has quiet, leafy streets which have a delightful ambience and feel very safe to walk around. It was about an hour's walk downtown but there are regular buses from Division Street and Hawthorn Street so you have the best of all worlds. Melissa has thought of everything for her guests and if we could give this six stars we would. If you're looking for accommodation in Portland, look no further!

  • Beautiful place:)

    Bo2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The most wonderful airbnb I have every stayed at. Beautiful little house with everything included... I have never been at such a sweet cozy and comfortable place. Melissa was the kindest and most helpful host. I will be back!

    Aleksandra2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Brian's place was a garden suite dream - they put such care and thought into every detail to ensure their guests have a wonderful trip and it shows. The hosts were easily available in person or by text and very helpful even leading up to our stay. The location is central to a number of local shops and attractions and the restaurant recommendations list was so appreciated and came in handy multiple times.

    Paula2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best AirBnb we've stayed in! It was so nice and comfy- Melissa and her husband provide coffee and tea and any amenities you could think of - make up removing wipes, shampoo, etc. It was in a fabulous location. We were able to walk and loved going to the fabulous restaurants nearby. Very updated and clean! Would stay here again for sure!

    Marguerite2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such an incredible spot! Would definitely stay here again!

    Kaylie2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Far better than you could hope for. Location is awesome, hosts are attentive but respect your privacy and the place is so nice, clean and comfortable. My wife called it "Pinterest like". Don't hesitate, book now!

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • This place is a phenomenal studio style apartment with great amenities, fabulous hospitality and is close to tons of eateries in a beautiful historic residential neighborhood. A & J couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful on our stay. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

  • This was a great space in the basement of the home. Comfortable bed, huge shower, and all the amenities I needed.

    Emma2018-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my stay here. This was the first time I used Airbnb and mainly corresponded with Anna. She was great in answering all my questions and made me feel at ease and welcomed. The space was great! A comfortable bed to relax in after spending the day out and about. Very convenient location. I would definitely recommend staying with Anna and Jeremy if visiting the Portland area!

    Bernadette2014-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our brief stay in Portland was lovely. The downstairs seperate apartment was beautiful, spacious and clean. We were in town for an outdoor concert and Anna offered to let us take some chairs and a blanket. We'd stay again!

    Sarah2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place-- clean, cool, and quiet. The place is very thoughtfully nad beautifully put together. I appreciated that the place included basic amenities like a blowdryer, iron (in the laundry room), basic toiletries, and a little food and drink. Not necessarily a negative, but heads up that the bathroom doesn't have a door :)

    Aroma2015-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Anna and Jeremy's was fantastic. We only stayed one night but it was very pleasant and informative. We really appreciated all the great advice Anna gave us, she's adorable! Coming from staying in SE Portland it was great to experience the NE side even if it just was for one night. Everything is as pictured if not more! Great taste! The shower was a definite favorite! It's a great, cute, quiet neighborhood. My bf and I enjoyed a late night stroll to the park which is a 5 min walk and super close to cute coffee shops, restaurants, and brewery. Would definitely stay here again if in the area! Thanks again Anna!

    Sammy2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy were wonderful hosts. The apartment is meticulously clean and gets a surprising amount of light for being in both a basement and a notoriously overcast part of the country. There was a distinctly light and airy feel to the place, and also Anna and Jeremy have GREAT taste. The apartment was very thoughtfully appointed. Two of my favorites were the binder of things to do and the color-changing light above the kitchen sink. The neighborhood is great, and the house is within walking distance of many interesting shops and restaurants. Also, there is a sweet cat to pet (outside)!

    Emily2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Anna and Jeremy's place over the 4th of July weekend and we had an amazing time. Their space was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Their neighborhood is a great area to explore - with lots of cute little houses, restaurants, hangouts, shops and street murals. Anna and Jeremy were great hosts - they are as laidback or as hands-on as you want them to be. They were available by phone and text and had lots of helpful suggestions that made our time in Portland really special. We would definitely recommend them to anyone!

  • Anastasia's place was perfect for my trip to Portland. I didn't meet her but she did offer up some great suggestions for places to eat/drink & see. The room was great and super clean and it was nice to have basic kitchen facilities. The location is what really does the place justice as there was great food and drink places literally next door and round the corner and the neighbourhood was very cool & lively. Wholeheartedly recommended.

    David2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently located close to public transit, restaurants, and shops in Trendy fun and safe neighbourhood. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were luxury linens and towels. The apartment was very clean and has its own temperature control. Loved the natural environmentally friendly bodywash and hand soap. We found the building itself quiet but there is early morning noise from the street and the occasional late night intoxicated patron from the pub downstairs but it wasnt really that bothersome and they have done everything possible to ensure comfort including sound resistant window coverings. We loved our little home away from home and would definately stay again!

    Patricia2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint cozy studio was the perfect relaxing spot after exploring the city. Anastasia was very helpful and quick to respond to all inquiries. I especially appreciated that all the cleansers/soaps were organic and safe for chemically sensitive people like myself. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Portland.

    Susanne2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have asked for a better host or place to stay. This studio is the perfect size for a single person or couple. It's located in the middle of cool shops, restaurants and public transport. Our host Anastasia was amazing. She was able to answer all of our questions before hand and made check in and out so smooth. When we come back to Portland we will definitely hope to grab this place again.

    Jen2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this studio! My boyfriend and I stayed at Anastasia's place for 4 nights. Right when we walked in, we loved how cozy and clean everything was. This space had the perfect amount of room for my boyfriend and I. We are from San Diego so we weren't used to the cold but there was a heater in the apartment that made it just perfect. We did have a rental car and finding parking was a breeze thanks to the parking pass that Anastasia provided. There are quite a few places in the neighborhood to walk to including Salt & Straw and Blue Star Donut, which are both a must when visiting Portland. Felt really safe walking around the neighborhood too. We visited quite a few parts of Portland and the neighborhood we stayed in was by far our favorite. Just to make things even better, Anastasia was an amazing host. Clear instructions and great communication. When I asked if she had many recommendations of places to go while visiting Portland, she went above and beyond by taking the time to give me an extensive list of things to do and try. I didn't get to meet Anastasia in person but she even checked in with me during my trip to make sure everything was going fine :) I thought that was very nice of her. We definitely enjoyed our stay in Portland and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else but here.

    Asia2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was one of the best AirBNBs I have stayed in! Perfect sized studio with high ceilings that help to make it not look like a studio. The location was perfect. I could get great coffee, food, and spirits all within a 2 minute walk from the place. The toaster oven was great, blender was amazing and the French press was a perfect touch. Anastasia is a great host, I did a 60 day long term stay and she was always attentive, thoughtful and quick to respond. If I come back to Portland I'll be trying to stay here again!

    Kyle2016-08-21T00:00:00Z

    John2016-08-30T00:00:00Z

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate the needs of your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was a crooked shed with broken windows, no electricity, water or heat and was filled with trash. Todji improved it and then purchased the property in 2004 when banks were giving loans to anybody, including self-employed emerging artists. Todji rented rooms to other artists while restoring the old house for fifteen years, while building a career as a fine art sculptor. During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. Look at the outside walls to see the twist in the structure! TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from areas around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day. We employ local artists to do the cleaning and maintenance work at The Magic Barn and Magic House. Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!
  • Todji and Gisele's Magic Barn was a delightful and unique experience. Although it has a very Bohemian and exotic feel it was pristinely clean. The attention to detail in the design was remarkable, and the setting amongst Todji's sculptures was lovely. Todji's and Gisele were polite and helpful. We didn't see a lot of them... But that was fine. Guests need to know there are no basic food provisions apart from coffee but there are grocery stores not too far away and lots of places to eat.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was beyond our wildest hopes and has made us an instant Airbnb fan. I am not a city girl, but we wanted to experience the very best of Portland within walking distance to restaurants, music and the fun funky vintage shops that Portland is famous for. I also needed a quiet tranquil place to rest as im here on a healing journey, and I couldn't have imagined finding the very best of both worlds the way that we did here. We were suddenly transported in the middle of this bustling life-filled city to an oasis of calm serenity. It is indeed a magic barn! The interior is this beautiful raw-rustic feel... Gorgeous repurposed wood that is combined with clean lines, simple, uncluttered, and an absolute artists dream.. And I woke up feeling like I was in Tuscany or the French countryside. The light pouring in through the skylights, and the way it hits the crystals on the chandelier casting rainbows through the room made the space feel just that much more magical. The bed, linens and pillows were highest quality, and the use of space was genius- small and quaint with just enough of everything you need and the artistry of the space was positively inspiring. As if it couldn't get any better, the hosts Todji and Giselle were amazing! They are the kindest couple and their story is inspiring and they are the kind of people that you will remember long after your visit is over. We are so grateful to you both for giving us such an unforgettable time in Portland. It will certainly not be our last trip and we will recommend you highly to all of our friends and family visiting Portland. With love from Rebekah and Justice

  • The house is SO cute! Claw foot bathtub, comfortable bed, a tea bar, and a relaxing backyard. Very easy walk to Hawthorne or Division. I’ve already shared the link with friends who will be booking soon! Thank you Todji, Gisele, and Hobie!

  • Todji, Gisele. and Hobie have such an amazing space with the Magic Barn. Everything about it fulfilled both mine and my significant other's expectations. If you are looking for a cute and quaint place to get away from things, the magic barn is the place. I know Lauren and I will be back!

  • Really enjoyed my stay here. The place is conveniently located three miles from Downtown and is within walking distance of Hawthorne Street where there is a lot of culture and great eats

  • Beautiful place, cozy escape from the rain.

  • A beautiful rustic place! Very comfortable. The sculptures made the place even more unique and fun. The area is great. Very accessible to the city's public transportation. Did not have a chance to meet Todji or Gisele, but they were generally responsive to our concerns and questions.

The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds.
At The Society Hotel, we believe in making every traveler feel authentically connected to our community so they are ready to enjoy our beautiful city from day one. We offer three ways to experience our unique hotel: bunk rooms for the affordable community experience; private rooms with shared bathrooms for comfort without excess; and suites for a bit of affordable luxury. All of our rooms come with plush beds, 10-foot windows, high speed wifi, and a hospitality experience unlike any other.
Old Town is Portland's oldest neighborhood - the original epicenter of Portland, Oregon. It has a colorful history and an equally colorful present! We are the epicenter of Portland's street fashion scene, the nightlife district, as well as a social services haven for those most in need. So expect an eclectic mix from Old Town, and hopefully love it as much as we do!
  • Really enjoyed my time at the Society Hotel. The bunks were extremely comfortable, spacious & offered privacy. The staff was really kind & on multiple occasions I watched them go out of their way to help guests. Overall I was really impressed with the hotel & would definitely go back again!

  • Welcome reception was great. No complaints.

  • I had a really nice stay at the society hotel. For a hostel style sleeping arrangement it was very comfortable and clean. The location in Portland was convenient and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again!

    Mia2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Super dope hotel, stayed in a standard room (shared bath) and the bunk room. Dig everything about the hotel, its location, design, cleanliness and of course the crown jewel, the staff. Everything was immaculate and this place is 2 blocks off the main tram lines and is a 5-10 min walk to the central shopping area downtown. The “people” in the area are NOT an issue, didn’t have a single interaction with them even as I walked around at all times of the night. The only “downside” is it didn’t look like they were any grocery/convenience stores around at night (the one next door closes around 8 and has a limited selection). But again everything is in walking distance and Old Town Pizza across the street is good for some late night eats. If you stay in the bunk room, bring TWO locks, although people had their larger suitcases and items around the common area without any issue. Typically stay at the Shilo Inn near Moda Center but will definitely be staying here in the future.

  • This place was much better than I expected! Loved the bed, amenities, rooftop, coffeeshop and location.

    Gustavo2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly staff and wonderful accommodations. The bunk beds are phenomenal! It was like sleeping on a cloud. 10/10 would recommend and stay again!

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • Lovely stay. The studio was beautifully appointed, quiet, and super clean. Was in town for a week long business meeting and this was the perfect place. Wireless network worked super fast. I wish I had had more time to explore the neighborhood. Will likely be back in Portland again this year and hope to stay again.

    Claire2016-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Cara and Roger's studio was great! The place was immaculate yet cozy, and the location was perfectly central in SE. They even went above and beyond to accommodate our exceptionally early check in, which made things that much smoother. Would absolutely stay again!

    Rachel2014-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place really is as good as advertised and as all the glowing reviews suggest. I highly recommend it.

    Andrew2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent all round. The apartment was comfortable, clean, conveniently located, and Cara and Roger went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

  • What a treat it was to stay in this perfect studio apartment. The apartment was clean, comfortable, private and conveniently located. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us upon our arrival, along with lots of information of the surrounding area. It was the perfect place to relax after exploring Portland. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

    Elizabeth2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Much better than I expected.

    Chad2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cara's studio is brand spanking new! She has thought of everything one can possibly need to make a stay comfortable, even up to a supply of disposable earplugs by the nightstand. (We didn't need them though.) Really appreciated the portable AC unit as the temperature was in the high 80's. The street itself is quiet and safe with a great pizza joint a couple of blocks away that opens till midnight!

    Gerri2013-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed staying in here! Much roomier than I had expected, this place is adorable. Nestled in a great location; restaurants, coffee shops and lounges within walking distance. Cara and Roger were very accommodating and welcoming hosts. Thanks so much!

Light-filled, private 2 story apartment, parking in the driveway, two major bus lines, walking distance to restaurants/bars, shopping & grocery. Separate office area, high-speed internet, great for business travel.
A well-stocked gourmet kitchen, lots of windows to let light in (blackout shade in bedroom to help you sleep!), new comfy pullout sofa, full size washer & dryer, courtyard space outside to chill out, park in the driveway right next to the apartment
The Albert Arts neighborhood has award-winning restaurants, bars and shopping all within walking distance. The apartment is on a major bus line that can get you where you need to go quickly.
  • Very stylish and in a great location. The beds were very comfortable, best sleep we’ve had in a while. Bring your own shower gel and shampoo. There are coffee and tea available for the morning and the kitchen is ready for you to cook up a storm. I will go back if I find myself in Portland again.

  • Hands down my favorite airbnb ive ever stayed at. Tommy was very helpful and he also suggested places for us to check out. His home is so cozy and clean, just how i like it. I also liked how there was a spot for parking. He was also very accommodating with whatever we needed especially with any amenities that we needed. Overall it is a 5 star rating for me!

    Kathy2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We found Tommy’s place when we needed a last-minute place to stay in Portland. Boy, did we get lucky in all ways. Tommy was quick in his response and efficient in communication. The space was gorgeously decorated and equipped better than my own home. My family enjoyed the neighborhood and close proximity to the local Salt and Straw and Great Notion Brewing. Thoughtful touches like olive oil and spices in the kitchen helped us cook a nice breakfast before we had to be on our way in the morning. An absolutely lovely, quick stay.

    Toni2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy’s home is very nice and clean! Near to a lot of neat places to dine. The neighborhood is really nice as well.

    Gerardo2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This location was outstanding. Tommy had every amenity we could have hoped for. The washer/dryer even came in handy as we were on a long road-trip. Would definitely recommend this host!

    Kaitlin2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • REALLY cute place, spotless, and relaxing as soon as you walk in. Easy to get to and get in/out, very nice walk to lots of Alberta Street bars, restaurants, etc.

    Cara2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in Portland! This is a perfect location for being close to Alberta street shops and restaurants. As well as just close enough to downtown to explore. Highlights were the Kitchen, Parking and well done Interior.

Spacious master bedroom with private bath, entrance & deck; easy access to transportation, walking distance to N Williams, N Mississippi, The Pearl, Rose Quarter/Convention Center, east side amenities, & Emanuel Hospital. All are welcome! airbnb.com/rooms/2291626?s=51
This is a large master suite with accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay: a Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has cable TV, Queen size bed, foldout futon sofa, airbed in closet, sitting area & desk. "...the bathroom was unexpectedly awesome with two sinks, and such a large shower with dual heads." Heating and air conditioning is a mini-split which keeps the temperature comfortable and quiet.
Eliot neighborhood is full of popular dining establishments, coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. This is a great close-in Portland community with access to everything you need. Several places for live music include the Secret Society, White Eagle Saloon, Wonder Ballroom and, of course, the Rose Garden Moda Center.
  • While I never got a chance to meet Jere, she made sure our stay was wonderful. Our room was even better than we had expected and was located in a great area within a close walk to shops and yummy restaurants. She made our Portland stay very memorable. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Portland.

    Simon2014-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room is clean, cozy, spacious and full of warm atmosphere. Me and my mother really relaxed staying this place. Especially, shower room is extremely clean and comfortable. Can be used without any stress. I could feel how Jere had dedicated to cleanliness and hospitality, from every part of the room. The house is located in north east area, and the downtown of Portland is south west area, so we had to take bus to do the sightseeing and shopping. However, there's a bus stop nearby and the buses come quite often, so it wasn't inconvenient at all. We rather enjoyed the calm neighbor. Also, a big organic supermarket and plenty of nice restaurants, coffee shop are in the walkable distance, which Jere kindly recommend in her handmade guidebook. I enjoyed looking this guidebook, following to her recommendations. We spent 4 days here, surly relaxed. Rally nice room to enjoy the both exciting and calm side of Portland.

    Izumi2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Set off the road, in a quiet "foot traffic" cul-de-sac, the accommodations were quite nice. The rooms were quite comfortable, and we were left wanting for nothing Despite the very hot weather (unusually hot...), the rooms were cool and comfortable (the owner said that they had geothermal temperature control for the house). We didn't have access to the kitchen (which was made clear before we arrived), but we didn't mind as we were close enough to plenty of good restaurants. The neighborhood itself was quite nice. We had taken our bikes on the train to Portland, so the low traffic and well marked bicycle right-of-ways in the area were greatly appreciated.

    James2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jere's place is perfect, in a great location and very comfortable.

    Mae2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, spacious space, even nicer looking than the photos. Easy to navigate throughout the city from the location. Would definitely return!

    Deb2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our nine-day stay in Portland at the Haven. The space is roomy, cheerful and beautifully designed. We loved having the private entrance and the porch. There are neighborhood restaurants and markets in walking distance. Two bus lines are within two blocks walk and connect well with Portland's excellent transportation system such as the trams. Jere was an excellent host and we enthusiastically recommend this Haven.

    Mary Jean2015-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • such a comfy spot to stay. super clean with awesome private entrance. a.c. was super cold and so many places to eat nearby. Thank you jere!

    Kris2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jere’s place was super cute! I loved how private and spacious the room was and the bathroom was huge! I liked that she had good shampoo, conditioner and face wash .. not the cheap stuff lol There was a lot of towels and extra pillows. Bed and pillows were very comfy. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We were like 10 minutes away from downtown Portland, Mississippi Ave, Japanese Garden, Forest Park.. which was awesome. I would definitely recommend future travelers to stay at Jere’s place.

Bright and clean private bedroom just one block off of Mississippi St. district in N. Portland. Minutes from downtown via bike, light rail or car. Easy access to/from the Airport too! Five years in and our five star rating is going strong!
This home is clean, quiet, creative and perfectly situated for an amazingly rich and convenient Portland experience. With a comfortable Queen bed (fits 2), wood floors, ample closet space, garden views and adjacent shared bathroom, you'll feel right at home. Please note that we ask our guests to limit bathroom visits to 15 minutes (especially in the morning) as this space shares a bathroom with an additional Airbnb room. Full access to kitchen, living room with fireplace, and landscaped garden patio with raised beds and seating. The home is full of plants and art from around the world. No pets/Allergen free! The Mississippi St. district is the place to be! Amazing restaurants, food carts, bars, breweries and stellar music venues are literally a minutes walk from the front door. NOT an easy place to get bored! Parking is easy in this safe neighborhood. The MAX light rail system has a stop just minutes away (walking) that can shoot you downtown or drop you off from the airport. Please note that our close proximity to the I-5 freeway does provide some background noise (not really noticeable inside the house). PLEASE NOTE: Arthur and Adam live in an adjacent building on the property. Audra is our house manager and good friend - and lives on the top floor of this home.
Portland's Historic Mississippi District is definitely where you want to stay when visiting the city. A gorgeous and funky stretch full of great shops, award-winning restaurants, an incredible music venue and amazing bars with outdoor patios and inspiring craft cocktails. SUPER easy to get to other parts of the city from here too!
  • It was good

    Charles2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Adam & Arthur are great hosts. Very helpful even before I reached Portland. We chatted for a bit whenever I happened to be in the house and they're very friendly. They also have impeccable taste in interior, I gotta say. Everything else in the house were working just fine and I have a great stay overall.

    Handoko2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was perfect for my eight day, seven night work week time in Portland. It has great style, impeccably clean, very cozy, full of light from large windows, and so convenient. The Mississippi neighborhood has more great restaurants, shops, and entertainment in a concentrated six blocks. Adam and Arthur left no stone unturned in making the stay top shelf. It is a shared accommodation and bath, but that was never an issue. This will be my PDX first choice, but I know to book early as it stays occupied. The #4 bus is just steps away and a 20 minute ride to downtown.

    Donald2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was picture perfect. The location is fantastic, walking distance of a ton of delicious restaurants and boutiques, and great transit to downtown Portland. Overall a great place to stay. Would stay here again!

  • Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and comfortable house. We met Adam and Arthur briefly and felt very welcomed and comfortable in their home. They were very friendly and personable considering the amount of people they must meet. Bed was soooo comfortable and location ideal near the trendy area of Mississippi Ave and not far from downtown or the airport. Had a great stay!

  • Sara's place is very well thought out, affordable, clean and comfortable. It's located on the outskirts of Portland which was perfect because it was quiet and quirky, but only 15 mins from downtown. Would highly recommend! There were a lot of eateries and shops within walking distance.

The space accommodates two people easily and it is a cozy space that has everything you need! The Tiny House is located near public transportation and also is very close to nice places to eat and shop. Sara has great communication skills is very nice and welcoming person. • Sara has such a cool place in an awesome location! It’s close to grocery stores, TONS of restaurants, and just a quick car ride into downtown Portland. We loved riding the electric scooters around town and found it much easier to explore this way. Sara’s place is clean, spacious, and we felt very safe during our stay. She let us drop our bags off early, as well as keep them there a few hours after we checked out. That was super helpful so we didn’t need to lug them around town with us! Definitely recommend booking it!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Wonderful stay In Portland at the Treehouse! I have no idea how this couple manages to keep such a clean home with their adorable cat and three month old puppy, but they do. A beautiful, unique home. I loved reading in the quiet, open space next to the guest room. Easy check-in and check-out.

    Joni2013-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying with Brad and Becca. The house was a quick drive to downtown Portland, but far enough away to not feel like you're in the middle of the city. The animals were super friendly, we were slightly obsessed with the kitten! Bedroom was clean, and very comfortable! Awesome experience, would definitely stay there again!

    Melissa2014-11-07T00:00:00Z

  • Hey, these guys were great! Their dog was friendly with our dog, and we had full run of our level of the house. Cool decor, very comfortable bed and couches, interesting neighborhood. Probably not ideal if what you want is 100% privacy, but if the share model works for you, Brad & Becca were perfect.

  • You will not be disappointed if you choose this beautiful home to stay at. It is every bit as nice as it appears in the pictures. The location is terrific for anything in central Portland as I found. The hosts were very gracious and helpful in their suggestions on restaurants that met our specific needs. I would stay here again.

It is an eclectic 900 sqft self contained unit with amazing views on the top floor of a 1900's Victorian. This stretch of Williams Ave has a more industrial feel but we are just a few blocks from eateries & libations. Walk to the Convention Center, Moda Center and the Pearl District.
-The view is amazing. -Efficiency style open kitchen with 2 stove top burners, toaster oven, french press, cookware, full dishware & glassware plus a real fridge with freezer. -comfy queen bed & nice Egyptian cotton sheets -new heating system with Air Conditioning! -2 wifi networks -a slew of information & maps on Portland & surrounding areas such as the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, wine country etc. -Walk to the heart of the Williams District -Walk to the convention Center & Moda -Walk into the Pearl District (20min.)
Building on its reputation for bicycles, beers and brunch, the Williams District has evolved into a dynamic, must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. With its broad array of eateries, breweries, characters, shops and services, the district is a veritable composite of all the best Portland has to offer. The Williams District includes more than 150 businesses and is also defined by its rich cultural history. In the 1940s and ’50s, Williams Avenue was teeming with jazz clubs and speakeasies. Today located just down the street is the historic Billy Webb elks lodge. On a Friday or Saturday night it is not rare to sit on the deck and hear the DJ spinning.
  • Exelente experiência! Muito bem localizado com tudo que precisamos! O Loft tem varias dicas de lugares, restaurantes e cafés de Portland. Cada item vemos a preocupação da proprietária.

  • Tyra was the perfect host! From the moment we confirmed our reservation, Tyra was quick to respond, super communicative throughout our stay and sent me a bunch of recommendations without me even asking! She even left a local cider chilling in the fridge to welcome our arrival - talk about hospitality :) The loft is a dream and the view from the patio is gorgeous - just like the pictures! Tyra left plenty of local magazines and guides to help us find the cool things to do around Portland. On the night we arrived, we walked a quick 10 minutes up the street to the Williams District and grabbed a drink at a cozy lil cocktail bar called Box Social (highly recommend their grilled cheese & tomato soup!). I'd stay in Tyra's loft again, without hesitation. Thank you Tyra for being a great host!

    Gina2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Tyra's loft. The place was clean, had lots of character and the bed was very comfy. The location was fantastic and communicating with Tyra was smooth and hospitable.

    Jasmine2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra was a great communicator and the space was perfect for me. Thoughtfully arranged and supplied. I'd stay again!

    Michael2014-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The loft was the perfect size, had everything we needed and was centrally located. We had a rental car for a few days, which we were easily able to park out front for free. We also used the nearby public transportation. Tyra was very nice and easy to communicate with, providing all the information we needed. The BEST part of the place though was the view. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, looking out on the city.

    Erin2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra's space was great. It was very clean and tidy and had a great view. All of her instructions and tips were super helpful and clear. It was very easy to get a lyft or uber in and out of this neighborhood and the house itself was in a great location. It was a very quiet and peaceful loft to stay.

    Michelle2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was clean and equipped with all the essentials including towels and soap. I really enjoyed the complimentary coffee and tea. Easy access and easy street parking. The relatively private deck and view was a definite plus. I'd stay here again. Great location/close to everything.

    Ashlee2014-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome, simply awesome. I enjoyed the space very much and Tyra was the best help, she had tons of great suggestions for experiencing portland. I would definitely go back.

I'm offering a comfortable clean bedroom in the best neighborhood in Portland. Self check in so late night arrivals are no problem. On all major bus lines. New Seasons market one block away and 20+ restaurants in a 15 block radius. Free street parking. LGBTQ friendly. 3 small dogs live here so if you don't love dogs, this is not the place for you.
I'm offering a bedroom in my four bedroom home on the main floor right next to the shared bathroom. The bed is a comfy queen size. My home has a back porch with a cozy deck for eating breakfast and sipping coffee and a picnic area under the arbor for dinner and relaxing. The dogs can be a bit intense, but Rocky is always down for a head scratch.
Dozens of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the house. Two grocery stores within 4 blocks. Major bus lines will take you downtown in ten minutes. Our neighborhood is quiet and clean in the heart of Portland's biking community. We're also within walking distance to the Aladdin Theater so come see a show while you're here!
  • Kara é atenciosa e nos ajudou no que precisamos. O quarto é pequeno mas confortável. O chão da cozinha estava bastante sujo.

    Marina2018-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kara was a great host. She over communicated, provided great suggestions on things to do, and was very friendly. The bed slept well and the room was more than enough space for what I needed. Good experience

    Sal2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Truly enjoyed staying here! Kara was great at communicating back whenever I had any questions. The house was super cozy and relaxing!

    Audrey2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy to coordinate upon arrival - great and central location within walking distance of plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Kara and her roommate were great about giving information on what to do around their house - there were lots of brochures, books and suggestions on the best food and activities in the area. The room was clean and comfortable, we would definitely go back!

    Max & Kelly2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kara was very flexible with our arrival, as we got into the city two hours before we thought we would check in. The dogs are barkers but that's fine, they didn't bother us. We slept like rocks in the cozy bedroom.

    Alice2017-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kara was an amazingly mellow and welcoming host. Her house was lovely and she had a real "mi casa, su casa" attitude! Even though there are a few people living here, there was never any problem with use of the shared areas. I had a lot of fun in the very doggie environment and I think the dogs and I will miss each other. I loved my stay and would highly recommend her place. Thanks, Kara!

    Maureen2014-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! The room was perfect, the house was in a great neighborhood, and Kara was a welcoming and helpful host.

    Claire2015-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kara was helpful and welcoming! She was flexible when arrival times changed and warm in the brief time we had to chat. We stayed one night and used her place as a launching pad to explore the city on our bikes. Her neighborhood was cool with some good-looking restaurants/bars and had easy access to bike lanes/trails to downtown and elsewhere to help our exploration. Would happily stay here again the next time I'm in Portland.

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • My fiance and I stayed at the Tiny House for a long weekend to get acquainted with our soon-to-be new homeland. We could not have asked for a better place to stay, nor better people to deal with!!! Michael and Jenny were both VERY attentive to our questions throughout the time leading up to our stay and even contacted us during to see if we needed anything! Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to meet, but I doubt this will be the last time that our paths cross! The neighborhood was AWESOME, with tons of bars, restaurants, boutique shops and even a great grocer a few blocks down (New Seasons Market). The kitchen was loaded with everything you'd need to make your own meals and stay comfortable. All in all, we were so amazed with everything about Portland and the Tiny House just made it that much better! If we have the opportunity to swing by the area again before moving there for good, you better believe that we'll be crashing here!!! Thanks again, guys!!!

    Chris2013-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the tiny house. We had a great and comfortable stay. We enjoyed the outdoor space with table and chairs. The location was great (there are restaurants, coffee shops, bars and a grocery store very near... plus, Mississippi Ave - with great shops and restaurants - is a short walk away). We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • We loved our stay in this Portland tiny home! We did 2 days here so we could really experience the Alberta Arts District! From McMenamins Kennedy School to watching the sunset at Skidmore Bluff and Cathedral Park, we loved Portland and the convenience of being at the tiny home! Definitely try What's the Scoop for ice cream about 5 minutes from the Tiny Home! :)

  • We had an amazing time at the Tiny House. It was beautifully charming and cozy, the perfect place for our weekend getaway. The Tiny House had absolutely everything we could want and was conveniently situated in a neighborhood that was close to everything. We had an amazing experience and look forward to staying again soon!

    Laura2014-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny home was exactly what we wanted. Michael and Jenny were attentive hosts leaving suggestions for the neighbourhood. It's small but designed perfectly with everything you need inside. When I'm back in Portland I'm definitely staying here again.

  • This was an amazing experience in a perfectly appointed and located home.

    Colin2016-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny House is in a wonderful location, just blocks away from awesome restaurants and bars. Some of our favorites were Lardo, Tasty and Sons, The Box Social, and Ned Ludd. The NE area in general has a wealth of unique, hip, and fun establishments to explore. The house itself is wonderful. Definitely tiny, but tiny can be good! It has everything you could need and is thoughtfully laid out. It was extremely clean and tidy when we arrived. Thank you Michael and Jenny for building such a great house! We had a lovely time in PDX.

  • It's a nice space--up a short flight on a helix staircase to a spacious loft, and Roland is a great host. Parking is plentiful, and it's walking distance from Division St and public transit.

    Anil2018-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Roland's cute and clean place upstairs is warm and cozy with a fabulous gas fireplace, great skylights, a comfortable bed, a private bathroom, a tiny balcony, and plenty of closet space. The beautiful wooden spiral staircase is narrow but safe. Roland is an easy-going gentleman willing to help out with local information and anything else you might need. I highly recommend this location and this host!

  • My stay at the Loft was great! Although i did not get a chance to meet Roland (due to conflicting schedules), he was always available and made the arrival/leave extremely pain free. The loft itself was very clean, cozy, and quiet. The location was better then expected. It's only a short walk to a Division street, which is filled with restaurants, shops, and bus stops. The neighborhood was also great. I felt very safe and getting around was not one bit confusing. Thanks for everything Roland!

    Miguel2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Roland's house. The day I arrived, Roland was kind enough to pick me up in his car to drive me to his house. He is friendly, organized, and always happy to help. The house is in a great area, close to top food spots in Portland. Easily accessible by public transport. The loft itself is perfectly sized, with many windows and feels light and airy. I would definitely stay again!

It was quiet and comfortable. The location was really nice too. It is a very eclectic neighborhood, very close to Whole Foods and New Seasons. Irina's hospitality made it hard to say good-bye. But hey, I will surely be back.

  • Great, clean, affordable place to stay. Irina was very easy to worth with. Definitely recommend!

    Geesala2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had never used Airbnb before and this was the first place I had booked. It was a lovely experience! Irina is very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the Portland area. She gave us great suggestions as to where to check out and we had fun with all of them! She also gave us our privacy and was very respectful. If you want to stay in a warm, safe, and wonderful environment then I'd book with Irina :)

  • Irina's place is absolutely adorable! It was clean, cozy, spacious, and private. Would love to stay here again on another visit to Portland!

  • Nice place, clean, brand new.

    Geoff2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Good privacy

    Selena2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place to stay if you want to be in a more residential area of Portland, but still within easy walking access to NE neighborhood commercial districts like Williams and Alberta. The place was clean, airy, and private, yet Irina made us feel right at home and available if we needed anything (tho we didn't). Luxurious bath products, lace edged sheets, refrigerated bottled water, and candles provided extra special touches!

  • We had a wonderful time in this cozy little retreat in NE Portland. The area is gorgeous and comfortable, and not too far from the city. The full, private kitchen was such a plus and made for a great day indoors on a rainy day. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Saw Melissa’s place and instantly fell in love! It looks exactly like the pictures! Everything went smoothly from start to finish. We had plenty to do in the area and enjoyed relaxing inside the cozy studio. If you’re looking for a place in the Alberta Arts District, look no further. You get all you need and more at a fantastic price. We also bonded with her sweet cat Audrey— a bonus for this cat lady ❤️ Thanks so much for being an amazing host Melissa (and Audrey)!! Lovely 2 br. cottage nestled beside a pond w water feature. Kitchen, open sleeping loft with skylights, bath w shower and washer/dryer. Lots of natural light. Can accommodate an entire family comfortably. Private entry on lg. lot through gated backyard.
Nestled in the back corner of a large lot under the canopy of a beautiful mimosa tree, this private cottage offers a full kitchen with sit-up bar, a full bath with a washer/dryer, and a sleeping loft with crow's nest. It's perfect for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
And all of this just 15 minutes from downtown.
  • Cute place in a great location for our needs. Host was nice and communicated promptly.

  • Cozy, cute cottage in a quiet neighborhood close to great restaurants!!

    anita2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were reliably communicative in the time leading up to our visit and accommodating to any requests we made. The cottage was perfect for us in terms of space and allowed for a bit of privacy. It was nice to come 'home' to after a long, busy day.

    Yvette2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was such a cozy place to stay during the cold, icy Portland winter conditions that we stumbled into during our stay. The cottage was super cozy and private. The beds were comfortable and the coffee left for us was delicious!

  • This is a private, quiet and peaceful spot that was very cozy and comfortable. It was perfect and Jack and Cris were very friendly and easy to communicate with.

  • This place was one of the best Airbnbs we have ever stayed in. The hosts were excellent and recommended great restaurants. The cottage was perfect, better than we had even expected. It was gorgeous and there so many little touches that really added to the place. We definitely recommend to anyone and if we ever come back would definitely stay at Jack and Cris’s place again.

    Hayley2018-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing cottage in a really nice area. There were a lot of restaurants nearby and the hosts were kind and solicitous.

  • Overall, a pleasant stay in a quiet residential neighborhood, close to some great restaurants and the Hawthorn shopping district. The room was smaller than expected, but was still warm a cozy for our stay.

  • Kurt and Nathalie are fantastic hosts and we really enjoyed meeting them. The place is beautiful and well stocked. You'll really like it.

    Andy2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was perfect in every respect. Not only was the studio warm and inviting and comfortable but there were loads of little things like the maple syrup and the stocked larder and the laundry and the burts bees products in the bathroom. Can't find fault in any single way. Loved it. Didn't want to leave. Hopefully will come back.

    Alison2016-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little cottage, had everything we needed and more. Great location and wonderful hosts!

    Antony2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This studio was a dream! Great location and super charming, with lots of craftsman character, but also brand new, squeaky clean, and fitted out with modern amenities. Kurt and Nathalie were gracious hosts, giving us plenty of privacy, but also checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. We especially loved the heated floors, which made the room nice and cozy on a cold, snowy day. Can't think of anything I would change... they thought of everything! We'd love to stay here again.

    Sarah2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience personally booking with Airbnb and it was exceptional. Kurt and Nathalie were so warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The studio was perfect--down to every last detail. They provided breakfast staples, snacks, and plenty of cookware in case you preferred to stay in. The space was comfortable, cozy, and clean. In addition, they provided us with great bath products (Burt's Bees!), a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and the access to their laundry was just downstairs. We felt right at home, especially when their sweet dog Myrna would greet us on our way in and out. For all of you foodies out there, the studio was located right off of SE Division Street within walking distance of places like Salt & Straw, Pok Pok, Tidbit Food Farm & Garden, and also only a 10 minute car ride from the downtown food scene. We cannot say enough about how sweet Kurt and Nathalie were during our stay. They really made our anniversary trip a memorable one. If given the opportunity, we would love to stay again! We definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Portland :).

  • Awesome! Loved the house and area.

    Yvette2016-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip to Portland last week was our first time using Airbnb and I couldn't be happier with the experience we had at Kurt & Nathalie's loft apartment. First, their house is beautiful and in a wonderful location within the outside of downtown Portland. Next, the loft (which was renovated by Kurt himself) is exceptional. It's full of light, beautifully decorated, and very peaceful. They were extremely helpful in aiding us in the navigation of the neighborhood and what to check out locally. We couldn't have asked for a better first time Airbnb experience if we tried! We will 100% stay with Kurt & Nathalie the next time we visit Portland.

    Sarah2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Portland at the very end of a 2.5 week road trip around the Pacific Northwest, and of all 7 places we stayed this was definitely the best! The space was bright and clean and very close to excellent restaurants, bars, and shopping. Kurt and Nathalie were super helpful and sweet, and the stocked pantry and fridge was great! If we come back to Portland I will definitely stay here again. Lovely place and lovely hosts!

Plus close proximity and easy highway access to get to many other great Portland attractions.
  • We felt so welcome when we were reached out to ahead of time and they let us drop our luggage off while the listing was getting ready. The space was so open and comfortable. The kitchen was stylish and functional. The bed was comfortable and the shower was perfect. The curtain separating the bed and bathroom may be an issue for someone that isn't fully comfortable with their guest but it worked for my husband and I. I did see an ant or two in the kitchen cupboard looking for sugar near the coffee machine but that wasn't an issue. The neighborhood was perfectly walking distance to breweries and a strong food scene. We only used Uber to cross the city.

  • All was as promised - great little studio in a fun neighborhood. Great host. Central location to UofP, Alberta neighborhood, downtown, etc. Would stay there again!

  • We arrived early and Ron let us stop by to drop off our bags as the studio was not ready yet. The location is perfect - 2 blocks from Mississippi where there are lots of restaurants and shops. There is also a bus to other neighborhoods and downtown. His studio is open, bright and clean and true to the pictures. Definitely recommend staying here!

  • Excellent !

    Andy2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really nice place. Quiet, very well appointed and close to restaurants. The only thing that would improve this apartment would be a place to hang your clothes. The area to the left of the stairs would be perfect or maybe the pantry room. I would recommend this place without resevation.

  • Loved this! One of our best experiences with Airbnb. squeaky clean, full of light, comfortable, fully equipped Autumn and Jordan were great guests and it really shows they put a lot of thought and creativity to the place. The location was great, and the fact they had a high chair, pack and play and even some toys for our 10 months old was just amazing. Would definitely come here again if we revisit Portland.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We had a great time at Lisa's cottage. It was small and cozy, just like we wanted. We were greeted with the lights on and a warm, sweet-smelling atmosphere. Lisa also provided us with breakfast fixings one morning and served us delicious breakfast paninis the next morning. The price was reasonable and I would stay there again.

    Jennifer2013-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at South Tabor Cottage. It was close to everything and parking was always a available right in front of house. Lisa's homemade breakfasts were so yummy and filling too. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to Portland! Oh, and the bed was very comfortable and cozy.

    Lindsay2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it, loved it, loved it! Charming, warm, clean and cute cottage. Lisa is great - she manages to be laid back and attentive all at once.

    Stephanie And Michael2013-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at the cottage as part of an anniversary road trip. It was such a cute cottage, just as described. Lisa was a fantastic host--very hospitable and welcoming. Her breakfasts were delicious too--it was very nice to have a delicious hot breakfast at our door each morning. Our first morning we left very early (5AM) to watch a soccer match and as we got ready we were delighted to see a jar of coffee on the counter. That absolutely saved our morning. There were so many nice little touches like this in the cottage--containers of soap in the shower, hand towels--things we wouldn't have thought to pack but ended up coming in handy. Overall, this cute cottage was a great value and we would definitely consider returning the next time we're in Portland.

    Marissa2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great! The bed was soo comfortable! The location was perfect too, pretty neighborhood and close to so much good food! Plus, Lisa's homemade breakfast was delicious! I would love to stay here again when I visit Portland again!

  • This cottage was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay while visiting Portland for our anniversary. We have already recommended it to everyone we know will be traveling to Pdx. Lisa was so easy to work with and very sweet and her breakfast was insanely delicious! We couldn't pass it up the second day after trying it the first. The cottage is a perfect size for two and we found the bed to be extremely comfortable. I can't imagine staying anywhere else during future stays in Portland. Thanks Lisa!

    Tiesha2014-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a lovely host - very accommodating! Her made-to-order delivered breakfasts are a treat and she helped us out with our laundry. The cottage is really comfortable and beautiful. We didn't explore the neighbourhood much, only downtown Portland and the Oregon coast, but we really loved coming back here at the end of the day.

    Emma2014-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Lisas Cottage was so awesome! We enjoyed the cute house in the garden of hers. It was very clean and tidy! The breakfast that Lisa made was spectacular! It beats nothing that i've ever seen! The neighborhood was very save and we had no problems parking. Would always love to stay again!! Thank you! :)

Think of a hostess who was born for this. Multiply by 10. The attention that greeted us at the door, the information she gave us about public transport on trips, about where to dine, where to rent a car for a good price and even where the gasoline was cheaper,They were precious. Cleaning the house, the good smell of a well-kept house, access to all the kitchen paraphernalia, even when cooked tapioca one for her, made us feel a pleasant like "I'm home." Could translate that stay in one word: Amazing. It seemed that we had already known of other lives. Thank you very much, Alleyn. We enjoyed even of you. I recommend to everyone as one of the best places to stay in Portland.

Clean, simply furnished apartment in a fantastic neighborhood. Parked on the street right out front and walked the neighborhood. Faith was great - very responsive. I would definitely stay here again and avoid the airport hotels that I have been relying on.

Words cannot express all that I wish to say about the amazing time we had during our stay at Deco Dream. I am so overwhelmed and speechless that all I can manage to say right this minute is, thank you, thank you and another HUGE thank you to David for sharing his home with us! The Deco Dream is absolutely spectacular I will be forever grateful for his hospitality. Not only was our stay here a truly memorable and priceless experience but we gained a great friend in the process. People like David are a rare gift! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts my dear friend, much love and many thanks!
